Such a proud feeling listening to my Father, my imagination takes me back visualising such amazing performances as a Young Lad, arguably you would/will never hear Lohengrin sung so lyrically & sweetly…
@@tonywatts6699 thank you for saying that, I’m very honoured to have been brought up by someone who came from humble beginnings to then stamp his mark in the way he did singing that role, so happy we can all still listen to the famous recordings at any time…
@@RichardRemedios A friend and I went to see this Lohengrin in 1971. The effect was overwhelming: our first taste of opera. What joys! Remedios was in his element: seeing him arrive in a silver swan was the beginning of a life long love of opera. Braithwaite as the conductor was simply tremendous. Listening to the conclusion of the Eva/Ortrud duet (from @1:45:00) and you could be mistaken for thinking that the orchestra was the Vienna Phil.

Your father was a wonderful singer and still, after all these years, the best Siegfried I have ever heard.

@@johnamriding6862 was a wonderful rendition of a glorious Opera, very happy that it’s been saved like this for many to enjoy over and over again…
This is a thrilling and etherial performance. It is beautifully sung bt Mr. Remedios and conducted superbly- we're fortunate to hear this.
Remedios is the Lohengrin of one's dreams. How he never sang the role at Bayreuth is beyond me.
Please upload more recordings of the great Herincx! What a versatile singer!
Yes, a thuderous, rattling bass voice is distinct and rare in it's effect!
Sublime,all together sublime !
Robert Lloyd: fourth noble :) Great Alberto Remedios !!
