    Blade lube update: Turns out the line was clogged with mud and ball valve was cracked, most likely from freezing previous to my buying it. $10 for a new ball valve and about 10-15 minutes of time and it was all fixed. Love that these parts are so simple and readily available.

    I've seen other EZ Boardwalk videos but this one was the best one. Enjoy the new mill.

      Thanks so much!! There isn't a lot online about these mills despite their high quality. Thanks again and thanks for watching!

    Best review I've seen online of the EZ Boardwalk Model 40. You did a great job covering the things that make the EZ Boardwalk different from all the other mills out there.
    I ordered a new one along with a 20' extension and some other odds and ends in Jan 2023 with a backlog to around Sep 2023, but Stanton ended up being backed up a bit more so I didn't get it until Dec 2023. I love it.
    If you end up sawing timber with significant taper, the towboard option is expensive but, like the frame rails, is a really heavy duty beast with a simple but good design.
    Recommend you bolt a stop at the far end so you don't accidentally roll the sawmill head off the end. With that slanted head, if you are watching the leading wheel that is farther aft instead of the most forward leading wheel, it is easy to go too far.

      That’s awesome you have one of their mills as well!! Thanks for the kind words on the quality of the review! There doesn’t seem to be much online about them which is surprising given how good the quality of the mill is.
      Yeah I noticed right away the lack of a stop at the end of the rail! A friend who welds and has an ex boardwalk as well is going to help me fabricate an extension to the rails here in a couple of weeks. Toe board is a definite option I want to add…may fabricate one or buy the one they make for it.
      Thanks again and thanks for watching!

      Looking forward to seeing more videos of the mill. Great video. I have the same mill.

    That thing is a beast - basic, but built - very industrial - grats! Now I know why you said you weren't worried about the pull cord on the WM ;-)

      Yeah it's pretty robust and well built! I really enjoyed my woodland mills quite a bit but I am really, really looking forward to using this mill more. The quality of the cut is really impressive.

      awww...well I really liked my HM126 and learned a lot on it but my EZ Boardwalk is a fabulous saw so I can't complain! :) Happy sawing and thanks for watching!

    ahh...one follow up - wonder if with the blade at that angle, maybe that wards against wavy cuts too, just from the wider stance?

    • @homeplaceadventures
      @homeplaceadventures  9 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah I don't know- that's possible. It's interesting bc no other sawmill I know of has that angle on the sawhead relative to the rails. But it seems to really work. Thanks for watching!

    Awesome video. What jack stands did you use

    • @homeplaceadventures
      @homeplaceadventures  7 месяцев назад

      They were 5,000 ln Jack stands from harbor freight. For the 10’ extension I just did I used 5,000 lb jacks off Amazon. They both work great!

    How long before someone snagged the 126 ? I just passed on a timberking 1220 that is similar to the EB. I’m feeling a little sick now.

    • @homeplaceadventures
      @homeplaceadventures  9 месяцев назад +1

      My phone blew up with messages for my 126. Guy who bought it I asked him to wait an extra week bc I didn’t want to sell it before I inspected the new mill so he waited and came over to get day after I got home with my new one. Had tons of interest in my 126 and probably 6-8 people saying “ I’ll come now with cash in hand” but sold it to first guy who expressed serious interest.

    • @homeplaceadventures
      @homeplaceadventures  9 месяцев назад

      That timberking is a great machine too! Have you got a mill already and looking for another or first mill?

    • @terryatpi
      @terryatpi 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@homeplaceadventures timberking was like new. 24 ft track. Sat inside for 8 years after owner died. Probably had 100 hrs. $7500. …. Only had the 16 horse engine and no trailer package are the main reasons I passed.
      This will be my first mill. Probably going for the 130max for the electric start and get the xl trailer. ……thanks!

    Are those tires rated for the highway. How fast were you going

    • @homeplaceadventures
      @homeplaceadventures  7 месяцев назад

      good question! I am genuinely not sure. They are the tires that come with the mill from the manufacturer. I was on the interstate for a little bit...maybe an hour or so doing 65-75mph without issue. Rest of the drive was backroads at 55MPH or so. I had no issue either way. I know that the manufacturer drives them across the US with these tires on the interstate without issue. I don't think they have a speed limit on the tires like some other manufacturers have on their mills. It pulled very smooth behind my full size pick up. Thanks for watching!

      Thank you. Got some good info from your site and others. I'm picking up my EZ Boardwalk 40 Saturday in Missouri and driving it back to Ohio. I know they deliver them that way but I thought I'd ask someone who hauled one.

      @@50AcresofAcers congratulations! The EZ Boardwalk 40 is a great mill...I'd go so far as to say it is the best manual mill to be had on the market. Safe travels with your new mill and congratulations again!

    I've seen nearly all the band saw mills on You Tube even DIY mills and there is something about an ez board walk 40 that makes it the mill in it's class that I would choose. The only thing that concerns me is breathing all the discharge dust. A respirator could solve that. That dust is extremely dangerous long and short term.

    Nothing that impressive about this one, I can see it's better than woodland, not much though

    • @homeplaceadventures
      @homeplaceadventures  9 месяцев назад +1

      Have you had the chance to use an EZ Boardwalk mill before? Some things don’t come through in video. Certainly there are way more expensive and complex mills out there with full hydraulics etc. But for a manual mill, this one is certainly up there with the best in its class. Nothing again Woodland Mills as they are a fabulous company with a great product but this EZ Boardwalk is solidly built. But there are certainly bigger and more complex/full featured mills out there for sure. Either way thanks for sharing your thoughts and for watching!

      I had 126 woodland ok for 4k. For beginners, just got myself woodmizer lt15 much better but still much room for improvement. Not to happy.
