      Is it really that bad ? I know it's not mind blowing but I sprayed it on paper last week and its still there. I dont think that by calling a fragrance a 'parfum', it needs to be loud, just more depth and less alcohol which actually can reduce projection. It just smells a bit more polished and mature I think.
      There again it's just a matter of opinion and I'm still a big fan of your videos !

    Hahaha, it's the dogs bollocks mate. I haven't actually smelled this yet so I can't comment on the fragrance itself. Lots of times with fragrances that go this route (EDT --> EDP --> Parfum) it seems the more increased the concentration is the more the projection dies down.

  • @lukelogan9938
    @lukelogan9938 5 лет назад +4

    Hey George,
    Thank you for your honest opinion it is of great value, like yourself never was a fan of the "EDT" I own the "EDP" which vastly improves all the things I disliked about the "EDT". Its just a shame it hasn't worked on you, but as another subscriber said below, this is truly the beauty of this game "you win some, you lose some".
    My personal take on the "Parfum"? I really enjoy it to be honest, now to me I think it's a more broader scent however by no means "in your face" and for me that's a plus.
    If I ever want a sauvage "EDT" vibe I'd go with Prada Luna rossa carbon which I much prefer, as you know Prada does that signature soapy/clean vibe the best in the designer realm.
    Nevertheless great review and keep up the hard work 🙌🙌🙌

    I hated Sauvage EDT since I first smelled it in a magazine insert. I imagined some scenario where Dior had the ad campaign and Johnny Depp lined up, and the only thing they didn't have was the actual fragrance, so the perfumer had to pull an all-nighter. I tended to believe reviewers who said they disliked the original Sauvage, but enjoyed this one, however. Good to know I'm not missing out.

    At first, I was not crazy about sauvage either; it used to smell like pickles to me! Every version smelled like pickles to me, except for elixir. Fast forward a year and I love all the sauvages now. Especially the Parfum. It lasts longer than BDC Parfum, and it’s available at discounters. The performance is mediocre on skin, yes, but it stays on clothes for more than 8 hours. Also not a projection monster, but for my line of work, it’s perfect.

      Yeah me to, I actually thought that it was so strong on me that I only need one pump. When I tried it in the store I used about three pumps and man I stunk of it. Love the smell though it a lot more complex, dense and creamy smelling and has great lasting power. It’s a winner a big improvement on the original.

    Dior are officially screwing us over. I love the original, after a long time of being unsure, this new one is so bland, gutted I wasted the money. I can't believe it vanished after about two hours on my skin. I picked up Issey Majeure at the same time, that lasted about twelve hours. So annoyed. Agree with you. Subscribed.

  • @Lordsummerisle74
    @Lordsummerisle74 3 года назад +5

    This demonstrates that whilst it can be interesting listening to critics review fragrances, it doesn’t mean you should believe them. It’s all subjective. I personally can’t stand the sauvage edt but loved the parfum. It lasts over 24 hours on my skin and silage is constant to about 3 feet which is perfect for me. I don’t want the crass, in your face projection of the edt. As for Chanel blue, which he recommends, I hate the stuff, whether it’s edt, edt or parfum. C’est la vie, to each their own. But make your own mind up.

    I have the opposite opinion to what you just said
    I like the edt more
    It is not a date fragrance but more like a daily fress fragrance , the office , getting outside shopping and stuff like that and it is outstanding in these situations
    I like the smell
    But for the edp , it projected less and lasted less as well which made it less suitable for the situations I like to wear the edt for and for dates and romantic or official situations I would prefer other fragrances to the edp

    I’m not a fan, but I can’t also recommend Office For Men at retail either; that fragrance for what it’s going for now is a little much. But hey, otherwise, I can empathize with your thoughts for the most part here. The “Parfum” title designer-wise recently seems to mean/lean towards longevity rather than projection, so maybe I’ll dive into this one more and find out one day too. Great stuff as always! =]

    I tried Sauvage, I loved it.
    However, I didn't like the N. 2 pencil shavings smell at the base notes (American Cedar Wood/Moth balls).
    So I researched,namd found Afnan Modest Une. And im my opinion it smells smoother it doesn't hace that nasty American cedar wood note. I'm pretty sure that they used Himalayan cedar (sweeter/smokier/balsamic).
    And also in the dry down they used amber, and eucalyptus oil. They both mingle together creating a delicate sweetness, yet refreshing.
    Afnan did a much more refined version of Sauvage.
    In addition, when i tried Sauvage it lasted less than 15 minutes. The notes quickly burn outbto the base of American cedar wood.
    With Modest Une it takes awhile to burn through the citrus notes, and spices to to reach that delicate amber intertwined with eucalyptus to reach that sweet balsamic Himalayan cedarwood.

I mean it’s the best sold for years for a reason and that’s not because of Johnny depp. Well ... it’s your opinion against the world I think

    Sounds like an escentric molecule scent... Large molecule blends that most people are asnosmic to...at first..... Iso e, anthamber, sandela, Javanol, hedione. Which means give it two months and it will be the new cult classic... One of those can't smell it directly but bask in the sillage fragrances

    That's weird man, I have the edp and it's so strong that only 3 sprays I fill up a room too much. I drown in it if i spray 5 sprays or so and it lasts all day. Also I sprayed my shirt twice and it smelled like I just sprayed it for 3 days and after washing it I could still smell it! Maybe you got ripped off bro

    Dior Sauvage EDP is probably the only masculine fragrance I hated at first sniff. To my nose it was like dusty yet oily potpourri mixed with liquorice all sorts. WHY WOULD GROWN UPS COOK UP A STINK LIKE THAT?

    Can you run a experiment with this Frangrance I have a theory? Sauvage parfum was rushed to marketin the fragrance didn't have time to macerate after a few months my bottle has truly opened up into a better Frangrance.

    the reality is that while dior has been uploaded to the mainstreem (which he has done very well if he wants to make money) Chanel instead, and having quite commercial fragrances like bleu, has managed to maintain a minimal upperclass. It's a shame because Dior has some insurmountable conceptual creativity creations until approximately 2010. we have perfumes like Amber pour homme and Loewe pour homme (spanish house :) after the shower fortunately ...

    Genuinely love your honesty and knowledge. I might not agree with you on everything but I know you know what you’re talking about and you give me things to think about. This community isn’t going to survive if people aren’t allowed to give honest, fair reviews which are expressions of how they actually feel about fragrances.
    I wore it last week from store testers. I liked the smell but now that you mention it, it didn’t stick around that long. At least to my nose.
    But if you are looking for undisclosed underground bunkers to hide in, Wales is slightly cooler at the moment than England. :)
    Thanks again for great content

    I'd rather wear any of the three alternatives mentioned in the final scene. SO MUCH BETTER. AND CHEAPER. I mean, I'd rather wear Alain Delon Samourai 47 or Nikos Scupture as a "blue powdery" frag.

    Nose blindness is a dumb excuse. I was strongly considering purchasing this. It makes me sick that they didnt actually make this thicker and stronger.
    Its not about it being thicker and projecting less because just using a little of my fragrance oil projects 4-6 feet away. This stuff is just actually weak

  • @manygaga1
    @manygaga1 5 лет назад

    parfum is usually lighter, smoother, no? I will receive mine tomorrow because I like the edp and I hope the parfum will not disappoint.. The edt doesn't fit my personality at all. Btw I paid 77 euro (69 british pounds).

    • @TheFragranceApprentice
      @TheFragranceApprentice  5 лет назад

      No. Parfum = Highest Concentration Possible.

    • @manygaga1
      @manygaga1 5 лет назад +1

      @@TheFragranceApprentice doesn't mean it will project more. increased oils increase longevity in lots of cases but even then it's not always the case because some oils are just not as strong as others. Alcohol (often higher in edt or cologne concentration) is a great diffuser and has a positive impact on projection.

    Wow! Haven't seen Plus Plus in a long time. I used to wear it quite a bit back in the early 2000s until I couldn't stand the synthetic sweetness any longer. And that was BEFORE I got into fragrances. Little surprised DSP is so weak though.
