@@gmmakesmehurl Hey Harry, do you notice a huge difference in quality between the two? I hear people say that the pre-1995 PRS guitars are higher quality than the ones nowadays. Just want to see the opinion of someone that owns both!
@@WhatAFluke It is so hard to compare because both are amazing. The 93 is darker sounding, but they may be because the wiring is different. It defiantly has more output from the bridge pickup than the 2020. The 2020 has a lot more cut, but sounds amazing too. Quality wise, the 93 is best. You're getting core quality parts from 1993. Now, they use Korean made parts on the CE24. That isnt necessarily a bad thing, but the Core parts are obviously best. I play both of them equally.
@@gmmakesmehurl awesome, thanks for the reply. I'm so torn because I really want a Pre-1995 PRS, but people are starting to charge ridiculous prices. While I've seen some new CE24's going for as low as $2000 (Canadian). I've also heard something about the "carve" being different between the two generations? I haven't seen any pictures comparing the two though.
Sounds great! I bought a CE24 a few weeks back and I got to say it's the best playing, most versatile guitar I've ever played. I can get Tele, Strat, and Les Paul type tones out of it. It sparkles and it never sounds muddy. Not as twangy as a Tele, not as quacky as a Strat, doesn't have same low end as a Les Paul, but man it really does everything well. In regards to quality and playability it was perfect right out the box. Best guitar purchase I've ever made.
I have this same Model, color and all. I took off the cream pickup rings and the chrome tuners and added their black counterparts. Next will be black saddles. I also own a core 22 and the CE is by far more comfortable. The core has a little more girth to the tone but the CE can hold its own.
Brilliant demo! I bought mine a little over a year ago because it instantly gave me Santana sounds when played with a TS. Probably my most versatile guitar and the guitar I find myself playing and recording with most often.
Great playing & demo! Thank You! Put my first PRSs into my hands today.. just tried SEs .. played them unplugged just to feel the necks and hear the guitar.. not blown away.. really want to try some CEs, but the store was sold out.. that tells me something... being a Tele man at heart I think Im going to bond more with a maple bolt on neck ..
Thanks for talking about the guitar and actually playing it. Some of the videos I saw they loved the sound of their voice more than that of the guitar.
Awesome video and tones my friend! I bought a new 2021 CE 24 Semi-hollowbody yesterday from Reverb with a killer, absolutely killer red fire burst top!! Not a huge fan of the maple headstock but that top is worth it and at least it matches the maple binding. I can't wait to get it in my hands!!!
PRS makes some really nice guitars I am a big Schecter and ESP fan myself. I used to be huge les paul guy still love them but do not own any these days as I really have found as I get older I like those lighter thinner bodied guitars and ESP makes a great les paul body style guitar that is thinner and a lot lighter that sound's and looks amazing. My current collection of guitars which I have cut down to 7 from 30 plus lol! are now 3-Schecter's ,1-ESP, a fender telecaster, Ibanez bass and a Dean acoustic electric that I really love. Really nice PRS you got there though!
Right on man! Schecter makes some great guitars as well. Definitely was on a Schecter binge back in the day. You should check out a Heritage. They are more Gibson these days than a Gibson and they are made in the original Gibson factory 🤘
@@JLFulks Ya I have been playing Schecter guitar's since they first came out. I have always owned a couple. had a pretty nice collection of les pauls for a long time but just started getting harder to play for long periods of time just hurt my back. I was a die hard les paul guy aside from my schecters. But I started searching for lighter thinner guitars and went through the gambit for awhile. But as schecter grew and kept making better guitars I have found several that really suit me and my style of playing. But I have always loved that les paul body style and that is where ESP stepped in a filled that gap for me. on the acoustic side I have played many different acoutic or acoustic electric guitars but one day while bouncing around to guitar shops I happened upon a really nice dean acoustic electric with a super thin neck which I really like and that was it! love that guitar and really like several of deans acoustic electric guitars I plan on buying at least one more down the road.
I've owned over 60 guitars through the years and I loved something about every one of them. But for versatility and feel while playing, the CE24 is the absolute best.
I have one of these babys, but personally for classic rock, I don't feel confortable with. Pickups are a little dry for my ears. I think this guitar est very nice for blues, jazz, rock'n' roll , bossa-nova, etc., but for modern rock I suggest other PRS guitars. If you have many guitars in the collection this baby it will fit perfectly in the arsenal, but if you have only one or two, you could be a little disappointed.
I like to get heavy but I still use allot of clean tones.... The cheapest Les I can get to hit my preferred tones is a thousand more than these, so checking these out before I throw that kind of money around .... Seem pretty nice, but I can't find a video that is telling me don't spend 3000 on a Les Paul modern. I didn't expect it to be, but despite these having real good tone, the Les modern, from what I'm finding, is worth the 1000 more. Great playing, and I hope to improve myself to your level eventually, and hope to continue to see great demos, as I'm learning collecting never ends.
Thanks for the review. Best tones and playing I've heard for a CE24 on any YT demo yet. I want to buy either one of these or an S2 Custom 24, would prefer the CE but not sure about that thinner neck profile. Subscribed.
Thanks! I appreciate that. I looked at an S2 before I bought the CE 24 and personally thought the CE blew it away. I wasn’t sure about the neck either but I love it now
New sub here! Found your channel after looking into the CE24's and I think I'm going to try and pick one up before the end of the year. Such an amazing guitar, keep rockin' man 🍻
Nice video. I have one of these and a core 24. I love both. I thought I would sell my ce when I got my core... but it's actually had a very distinct and different tone that the core... I couldn't depart from either...both sound epic. The core is fuller and warner... but the ce has more attack and clarity... different animals. Other than having same shape and number of frets they are nothing alike... I love both. My ce stays in tune and had perfect intonation... just as my core does.
@@JLFulks oh you will lol. Once you get the PRS bug you can't stop. I've had two cores now... but I buy them in mint condition used for about $2k versus buying new to save cash because they are pricey. You can get a used one for similar price as the ce actually. But don't think your ce isn't as professional or as good sounding because that's far from true... the ce in one of the world's best sounding, underrated guitars simply because it's cheaper than the core and maybe less asterisks...
Hey great demo! I have an opportunity to get one at a great price but definitely play more clean tones, how do you think the CE would fair for more jazz sounds?
Yes the guitar does not give you an exact "classic rock" or classic anything sound because it's not that kind of guitar. If you want a classic sound just like your favorite song than get the guitar the dude plays it with.....but if your want great music, this guitar does what it does and does it all very well....and in my opinion makes classic songs sound fresh.
I love the feel of Strats but really like the looks of the PRS so I was thinking of getting one, would you say they are comparable? Or at least closer to a Strat than to a Gibson?
What is your favorite PRS guitar?
My favorite guitar, period, is my PRS Custom 24 in whale blue. Most versatile thing I’ve played.
Whew. Man its a hard choice. I have a 93 CE24 and a 2020 CE24. They both have their magic. Perhaps the 93 has a bit more magic dust. I dont know.

Great review! For this much money, i really wish they’ve done more than mother of countertops for the bird inlays. Otherwise, its my dream electric.

I'm definitely getting this.

Great review.can I ask the color
That should be grey black finish.
Is this color called the "Gray Black"? It looks bluish to me though
Yeah it’s Grey Black but it does has a slight blue tint
My only issue with these guitars is that there still worth a fair bit of money and PRs doesn’t include a hardcase 🤷♂️
