These PRS guitars sound great with that spec. Why has Rob got a dead cat on his head though?
You are going bald ... deal with it! The comb-over would not fool Baldrick.
Yes Yes Yes. Satin finishes on a PRS are the best and these colors are GREAT and throwing Ebony on it is genius.
CE - Classic Electric
Rob plays blues on the blue one, the riff from Oh Well by Peter Green on the green one, Purple Haze on the purple one.
Thems was the clues.
CE = Case Excluded (edition)😂😂😂
OOOOO Low blow!!!! hahahaha
@@Zeinzu2 😜
I bought one last year from a music store here in Canada. The store owner, and guy behind the counter spent about 30 minutes running around trying to find the case for it. They finally looked at the invoice and said, oh... this doesn’t come with a case.. it comes with a big bag. I was like, I spent $2699 cdn and I don’t even get a case ? That tells me prs are assholes lol
@@Podcastforthewin, lol! I don't know what's wrong with PRS guys! Other manufacturers provide hard cases for mid high range guitars (ESP eii, ephiphones, Ibanez prestige, Schecter custom line, LTD deluxe and artist versions, and etc.). In my point of view, any instrument priced above 1500usd must be provided with a free hard shell case!
🤣
Bought the red one a few months ago, plays like a dream. If you have the budget, I would highly suggest this guitar
I have the 2016 version, and I love it! Mostly gets played through a Katana 100/212... the satin neck is silky AF... highly recommend one... but yeah, buy a case too
I have a 2019 PRS CE24 in violin amber sunburst. In love with it. Playing through my Club 40 MkII sounds incredible.
Thinking I might get that same model.
so good to see chappers back! let those guitar leads sear!
where did he go? I am late to the party.
CE stands for Classic Electric because of how classic bolt on guitars are.
Absolute class from start to finish and top editing. The jokes are relentless, brilliant guys.
I don't think I tapped the like button fast enough when I saw this video come up in my feed...glad chappers is back!!😃😃😃please make more with him in it!
CE stands for Classic Electric. The new CE guitars are fabulous guitars, however, they are not nearly the same quality as the original. My 2003 is identical to a Custom 24 with the exception of the bolt on maple neck. My maple neck is flamed also. Mine has 1/2" maple cap, sweet violin cut, brass trem block, one piece maple neck, et cetera... all American made parts. The back plates are counter sunk as well. And of, course mine has the HSF and Vintage Bass pups. I can't imagine what the price would be if PRS reissued the identical original CE 24s...hard case was included as well.
Just landed a '20 CE 24 today and I own an '02 and I absolutely agree
CE = "Classic Electric". That was the original name, but Hartley Peavey let PRS know that he had a common law trademark on the term "Classic", hence the change to CE.
@parallax3d You can trademark it if you have a product called said word. Just ask wampler who had to change their ecstasy pedal to euphoria drive cause bogner threatened to sue them cause they had the word trademarked!Might want to do some research before you make an ass out of yourself again as you did with that last comment!
Ray Helton there might come a time when we run out of words then!
@@srh361 The irony.
@@srh361 I think his point was that it's ridiculous to trademark a word. Ya bonehead.
@@gmmakesmehurl Bonehead? For what, speaking the truth? And I'm the Bonehead.
After going thru 3 SEs, never really bonding with them, and knowing I'd never get a core model because of price, I gave up on PRS. Then, I came across an S2 22 in Satin Black Diamond ….best guitar I've owned and I've had MANY. Would love to add one of the above to the brood someday.
Still not a real prs sorry man
@@bmark7951 says prs on the headstock
@@bmark7951Okay? When you break it down it's all just wood, metal, and wires. I've seen people shred on guitars that cost $300. It's the player not the equipment. The only reason the core models are so expensive is because people pay that price. Trust me if people suddenly stopped buying them, the price would go WAY down. If you think because the price is $2500 that it A. Costs that much to produce or B. It is worth that much money, you're high.
on a side note.... your playing in this video Mr. Chapman is nothing short of amazing... Its sooo obvious watching you play to notice.... "You put the time in" you sound really good bro.. safe travels
I still have my 1993 CE 24, as well as a 2017 faded “Angry Larry” CE 24. The quality and build on both are astounding. Still my favorite model.
They sound so unique ❤️
I’m in love with the ebony fretboards😳
Great news is that Rosewood (specifically and only) for Musical Instruments have been made exempt from the ban!
I remember when Keeleys D&M drive just went out , Danish Pete used to make the “Mick into Dan and Dan into Mick” joke . It’s payback time with his own DP
Intro was one of the best......!!!
The gig bag is not to bad, nice padding. It’s easier to travel with when carrying other gear.
Wonderful video! Last year I started my odyssey with ordering a PRS SE Santana. But that wasn't my cup of tea for several reasons. Send them back and switched my ordering to an S2 35th Anniv. model - which wasn't available here for several month... though, I went into my guitar store and took a look... left the guitar store with a PRS CE Semi Hollow in a Custom-Body and Neck Color. Best Buy I've ever made. I'm in love with this beauty ;-)
Love my CE24!!! Amazing versatile guitars
CE's have always been my fav PRS 's , it's "the sound" I want out of Hunbucker guitar . I So need one . (Better than the high end core models)
The perfect song for the purple one, whether he saw it or not. I love watching Rob do these cork-sniffer comparison because he’s rarely wrong and he’s not guessing. He can hear and feel the differences. You guys can send the purple one to me now that you’ve broken it in, thanks.
My ce24 Nitro Ltd Ed is the best guitar I've ever played. Wipes the floor with gibsons
I got bamboozled by the supposed blindfold challenge. Lee's acting got me, he seemed genuinelly surprised.
That's the part I didn't buy. Rob reasoning seemed realistic. that's what got me.
Almost like a magic trick where someone levitates in front of your eyes. Although, I don’t believe that it’s in their best interest to cheat on a blindfold challenge.
I really like the matte/satin finishes.
LOVE your guys! Lots of insights and giggles. Good to see both of you are back!
always great to see you two together
I loved the room sound on the beginners videos. Sounds familiar and I like it.
Omg Lee I listened to you this whole intro good job sir loved it!!! And these guitars are so musical. It's fantastic
Classic Electric
CE is stands for “Classic Electric” in reference to the bolt in neck
Big congratulations to you both, on the birth of your little Chloe, the guitars are nice but they are trying to keep the price down so they are the same as Gibson's standard with there price drop but these are not bolt-on necks but the PRS is really beautiful
Damn...those colours are beautiful.
Those are surprisingly really good! PRS isn't really my thing but the bolt on neck makes some nice tones! My favorite was the blue.
Rob your killing it !
Congrats Rob and family! Lovely to have you back!
You see Rob in the picture - you give a like even before watching! :)
The Amazing CHAPPERS!!!
Well played CAPTAIN 👍👍
That intro !!! So good...
According to google CE stands for Classic Electric. Like the core line they are also made in the USA. Might just have to get one although I love my Paul's guitar SE.
Congrats on baby girl !
That green one is so beautiful!!!!
The end really disappointed me ngl😂
Great video! Could not stop laughing as Chappers played a bit of Peter Green, then a bit of Purple Haze.
it's great to see Chapman back! and congratulations to Chappers on your daughter and your new car!
Congrats on the new baby, Rob!
Good to see you back ROB... good sounding guitars..
I have one in Angry Larry burst. Had it for over a year. If I didn’t buy it at Guitar Center, I’d think I’d have some kinda prototype or something. Great guitars for “dirty” playing. I’ve had a year with it, but still can’t find a clean sound I like, at all, but that’s what Strats are for.
Ahh I've bloody missed you guys! Welcome back Chappers. Please desist with your Thomann flirtation and keep the old flame with Captain alive! :)
Classic electric
Wow that intro jam was really cool!
Nicely done, great sounding PRS guitars but with you both playing would they could only sound great, thank you, Jeff in LA USA
Great set guys.....thank you very much....so what kind of shoes are you guys wearing?
I read the CITES news just yesterday. Honestly, I prefer the look of ebony. It is like a black necktie. It just completes the suit. So, I hope ebony stays the main fretboard wood.
DP?? I LOVE DP! It's very important! I used to work in DP, and you gotta get that right or bad things happen. I really do miss DP. It was such a fulfilling career to know that I had an important job. Ahh Data Protection.
I love Pete, but I really miss these two together. :D
Hey guys, I'm considering buying a ce 24 or this ltd one, is there any difference in tone? thx:)
No. It's the same exact guitar. Just different paint option. I prefer the non ltd, but it's all in what you like.
Finally another video with rob
Say what you like but Rob has a great ear and great feel for Guitars.
Chappers or Captain Edition...Depending on who's playing it... See it's extremely versatile already lol
Love the idea of a pedal with a little bit of Rob on top of a little bit of Pete! Could call it the Danish Rob...or the Pete Chapman. Or even the RCDP...
How the heck he knows the guitar with no infos!!!! ONLY COLORS ARE DIFFERENT OMG! Chap, respect.
Ali Yasin Eser watch the very end ;)
OH NOOOOOOOO!!! Feels bad...
You have totally got to do a pedal collaboration. Why not? The D&M drive is a winner, so why not the Very Danish? Or the Marvellous Danish? Or even the (Money for) Old RoPe (Ro for Rob, Pe for Pete!)
One of my favourite ppenigg Jams this one
Congrats Rob!! Lovely guitars love everything you guys do at Andertons.
CE = classic electric.
damn that jam on the first part is really tasty! would love some bass and drums on them.
Sick jam. Guitars sound great. Chapters nice touch.
Does nitro mean the guitar will get worn fastet
God I need a PRS. I must admit I’ve always wondered what the CE has different from the Standards. Now I know it’s a bolt on neck that halves the price!! Is that really such a bad thing? I’m a Gibson man but I’m being seriously tempted by PRS. I believe this may be the one! Great to see Chappers back too. Barring the ‘sound likes’ my favourite Andertons shows are Chappers and The Captain stuff.
By Standard do you mean Core? The current CE line has a shallower top carve as well as import hardware (but USA pickups) to keep the price down compared to a Core.
Steven Chabot I do indeed. Sorry the ‘standard’ is the Gibson in me coming out again. So the CE isn’t USA hardware either? I still think the CE seems like an excellent guitar for the money. I’ve actually just seen the Asian versions, the SE are on special offer on Andertons. I’m seriously tempted again.
@@thomasstretton8574 Yes it's made in the USA. Every inch of the CE24 is American made, minus the bridge. It makes no difference however as the quality is still top notch. You could change out the bridge, but it's completely and utterly unnecessary.
There are many differences between the new CE and the original...the new CE has a 4 piece neck due to the scarf joint at the headstock and the heal is two pieces glued together on top of each other, the back plates are not counter sunk, the bridge is metal trem block and saddles, carve is not a violin carve, the maple cap is only 1/4". I have a 2003 and it has a one piece flame maple neck, 1/2" maple cap, violin carve, counter sunk back plates, brass saddles and brass trem block...different pups as well but, pups tone is subjective. In short, the only difference between a core Custom 24 and my 2003 Ce 24 is the bolt on neck. I suggest getting an older one if you can find it.
The "DP 40" absolutely killed me!!!
Band-Maid's Kanami Tono uses PRS guitars. ;)
PRS makes some nice guitars but I have yet to find one with a neck that I have liked and felt right. Though, It does seem as if everyone has one these days, that will not sway me into purchasing one. At this point, I am now happy with what I have and am saving up for my move abroad which is more important anyway.
Disappointed that PRS does not provide a hard shell case with the CE models.
hes always plays better on prs, does he know this. awesome magic guitars the green one was wow.
So I had a 2017 Core Custom 24, 2017 CE 24, and 2017 PRS SE 245. I really think they are all abolutely great guitars. The SE 245 sounded almost the same as the core 24 oddly...minus the coil taps. I prefer the thinner neck of the 24s. Again they all sound epic... not sure which sounds better. I thought that I would prefer the sound of my core but I always kept gravitating back to my CE... except when playing lead, delay, or using coil tapping then the core was warmer sounding. Anyway I just sold my core and 245 and kept the CE. I know it's half the price and cheaper to make, shallower carve, etc... but if you actually own both and compare sound only the CE just has magical sound... bright, clear, crisp, punchy, etc. I will still buy another core with color I like more than my last... or the semi hollow special with more pickups soon... just to give a different tone for different types of music.
Sorry, late to the party here but can I ask you a question. I am thinking about buying a CE 24 online. But I hate guitars like an sg where it is a stretch to the first position. Les Paul's are fine for this. Is the CE24 a stretch like an SG? Thanks. Paul from Canada.
@@paul38501 good question... I've thought about buying an SG several times because they sound decent but never could pull the trigger for the same exact reason. SG is a very awkward guitar they are one of the poorest designed guitars ever made for many reasons but again sound good. The CE is nothing like the SG in terms of design. For the CE there is no awkward hand position when strumming, the CE isn't neck heavy, the CE stays in tune, has significantly better tuners, etc., etc. When you pick up an SG it feels and looks like a toy. When you pick up a CE it feels and looks like a quality instrument in comparison. I know SG fans will gawk at this but it's the truth. I don't hate SG guitars I've been so close to buying them endless times until I actually play them and my hand needs to be in a weird spot to the left just to strum and the neck dives...then I moved on to better built guitars. The CE is one of the best guitars ever made for its price point. I actually sold mine not because I didn't love it but because I bought a newer core 24 for almost the same price used... and it sounds almost the same but a little warmer which I prefer... but both are exceptional... depending on the specific tone you are after. I wouldn't take an older core 24 or CE though. I have a 98' core 24 at my house too and it sounds like crap... muddy... and wimpy in comparison to both my newer core 24 and CE 24. Plus the old knobs used for changing from humbucking mode to coil tapping sucks on the old ones. Some people will debate this but they are clueless and don't have both like I do. I'd take a new CE any day of the week over the old CE or core 24... the new sounds significantly better. So in a nutshell the CE is an epic guitar and way ahead of the curve in terms of sound, feel, design, playability, etc. It's in a whole different league than most guitars out there. Mine was perfect, perfect intonation, never went out of tune, etc. And unlike Gibson the coil tapping is actually useful.. sounds great. I have a Gibson Les Paul too and the coil tapping on that guitar is totally worthless... sounds terrible. Good luck...
@@thadlogan51 thank you so much for the detailed explanation. This really helps with my decision. I had an S2 custom 22 that I sold and want that quality feel of a PRS back. I think it will be a new CE24 this time. Cheers.
@@paul38501 NP. The s2 22 and 24 guitars are really great too... I think they sound as good as more expensive PRS guitars. I just really like the beautiful maple flame tops on the CE and above. Another epic inexpensive PRS guitar I have is the Chris Robertson. It's got a fat Les Paul tone but also a great sounding coil tap that actually makes it sound like a telecaster with balls. But they are tough to find because they only made them for one year... so you'd need to find one used... but can probably find for less than $1k... but totally different tone from a CE... which is brighter... more strat like...
@2:53 And Lee's mug is back!
who else had to do a double take at 5:07 after they heard that magical year....
Finally a video worth watching!
Filled with Rob, humbuckers and real distortion!
Oh Well at 18.42 rob doesn't usually do other people's riffs, but to do a Peter Green one on a green guitar but not an LP.....I'm confused.
I've missed those Captain and Chappers jams
Captain Lee, besides the movie... there is only ONE place in the world with a bridge over a river called Kwaai and that is in the Okavango Delta of Botswana !!
Here in Botswana we are blessed with some of the vastest forests of a tone wood called Mopane. My dream one day is to construct a Telecasterish style axe using local exotic hardwoods, including Mopane.
If any of the Andertons crew ever visit Botswana, please feel free to get in contact, if ever interested in experiencing a safari through these vast tonewood forests where music and wildlife coexist.

Somebody should put the miku pedal in a blindfold video to prank Rob
I always wanted a custom 24 core but here in Canada it's almost 6000$ the ce is 3000$. I'm wondering if the core that worth the extra 3000$.
lol same boat bro, did you decide which you want. I wish the CE had a nicer curve on the top lol
Nop
Another great vid! I have a PRS S2 and I need a combo for church. What's better. PRS sonzera20 or Bassbreaker 30??? Please help!! I live far from civilization and can't play them ...lol \m/
Congrats, Rob for your new-born daughter! Also, how the hell did you get those colors right? Always love watching these. been a fan since the beginning! Anderton's has swayed me in a few purchases of musical awesomeness!
You need to watch all the way to the end.
ALL the way!
It wouldn't surprise me if Paul grows his own. :-) Cheers!
probably not anything he can make a guitar out of though;)
A blindfolded Rob picks up the green guitar and immediately starts playing a song written by Peter Green! He then guesses it's green! Picks up the purple guitar and plays Purple Haze! Astonishing...
Are these the PRS range that The Mask would be into to?
The regular gloss CE's look way better. I need binding.
I disagree, I found that these are the best looking PRS i've ever seen (expect private stock ofc).
That's really just a personnal preference.
Lee laid down a hell of a rhythm guitar for that opening jam. Loops are great, but live rhythm guitar is far better.
I just bought a mid 90’s one when they came with a real case.
Chapters. You're a legend?
