As shoot em ups go, this one is fairly simple/easy, but not so easy as to walk through it first go. The hit detection appears to be very forgiving. Plenty of gfx glitches not sure if thats due to emu or acted this way on the real machine too. -

Ah yes, I remember when a British Sega CD magazine known as Sega Pro CD gave out a demo of this game... that still had the level select cheat on it, meaning that you can play the full game by using that code.
JVC forgot to remove from the demo...
Guru Larry mentioned that in some of his videos.
Developer oversight
0:53 "Oh I get it now! HISTORY SCIENCE!!!"
I legitimately thought this was a skit put in for the video...
The cutscene was there to provide historical context for the events of the game.
One of my favorite videogame cutscenes of all time starts at 36:04. I love it that the heroes have zero intellectual curiosity about the villain's master plan. It always makes me smile.
Even the cat is angry!

20 years old? who you think yer foolin?
Yeah, she's 14.
Wait, WHAT!? But her character discription at 3:27 says that she's 20.
Is she 14 in the Japanese version?
@@shinyneko8136 Yes, yes she is.
age of consent, maybe...
@@GungKrisna12 Ehh, Your still considered a child at 14 in Japan. I hear the age of consent varies in different parts of Japan.
She did all this, only so she could eat.

Just picked this up. Can’t wait to play it! Wish I would of got into Sega CD when I was a kid.

the Narrator is Ghostface from Scream and Mojo Jojo from Powerpuff Girls, that's awesome

DANG! I Never realized!
Great soundtrack. Just.. Beautiful.
despite being a simple but funny old video game (that of continually destroying targets in rows in the air, is very stereotypical and common in these games), is entertaining, with a amazing soundtrack and a very comical animated secuences, this game could has had a very funny anime, anyway, the fact that the main character and also the heroine, always wears a playboy bunny outfit, is hot.
the mad uh... really? the sou dtrack i can agree with... but play boy? hot? no...
@@risquethedarkqueenshypnoti5850 the game states shes 20
I think its just the art style but she looks malnourished
In the japanese version it stated that she's 14yrs old
The old woman in the purple kimono is her grandmother?! Well at least she doesn't have a pervy father!
Agreed
very compliment game, especially the music turns in.
I'm playing this on the Sega CD emulator for Nintendo Wii...it looks nice
anyone else think it's weird what despite all the classical japanese imagery, the dragon is western style?
I don't think so
i wish it was a show
Me too
....did I just see blue dragon balls at 11:22 ? O_o
Wut
The dragon is female my dude
Wtf xD
I see the ass

Who else believes that Sailor Moon should join forces with Rami?

...now change her dragon for a deadly smiling bullet
I agree with Snyperwolf, this game is very similar to Parodius.I think its a fun looking game with a typically Japanese weird plot and sense of humour.I mean its a Bunny suit clad girl's quest to return a sacred, oversized 'car key' to a village.Even though the voice acting is often laughably poor, there are some funny visual gags and lines in the game.
Agreed
She's... a bunny girl who rides a dragon? XD
Yup.
All the male voices in this game were done by Roger Labon Jackson, of all people.

Looks awesome. Will be one of the next titles I'm gonna get. Too bad it's so rare and expensive.
Btw: do you use any tool assistance or guidance for your longplays? The movements look so perfect. I mean, in a hundred tries I won't have managed to survive 21:10 to 21:20.
21:10 9:55 21:20
So weird seeing that the most replayed part of the video is the transformation scene
if you die on the last level, it will become impossible to finish the game without upgrades. One of the hardest games ive ever played, on Normal difficulty.
(Rami kicks her dragon awake)
Me: Jeez almighty! With Rami in heels that poor dragon is going to be feeling that for a while.
I wonder what did they bleep out in the end of the Japanese version?
I hope this will be added in the collection. It actually looks pretty fun.
Agreed
VERY NICE GAME 8/10
I agree 💯
Cute 'em ups are great games. This is one of my favorites tho' Ive never played it all the way thru.
Another great Cute 'em up is Harmful Park.
Agreed
character, fine she's sexy and maybe not 20. But the gameplay looks fun and a funny story with anime cutscenes amazing with graphics like that on the Sega Saturn. I like to see a collection of this and 2 available for Switch and PS4.
I agree
Oh!!! I got it! History science!
I understood the reference
@Draggydragon Ive just longplayed the japanese version out of curiosity and the difference isnt that big. Some cut scenes o on for longer (perhaps because it takes longer to say simple words ? :) and there are a few extra scenes. But its not hugely different. Some enemy and boss waves are different in this version too. The cds size are about the same too. 557mb (J) 531 (e)
Thanks so much for the playthrough MadMatty!
amazing, very very beautiful !!!
I agree
What the point in Rami transforming if her dragon does all the work? Hell, her bunny outfit doesn't seem to come with any powers and/or some kind of weapon like a lot of magical girl outfits do, so how was she supposed to guard the key?
If anything, I'd say Spot would make a better guard then Rami.
They were just focusing on Rami's Possibilities to do because of that Key they're robbed
The bunny outfit has the power of attracting horni audiences
@@MysterKeyagreed
Good question
@@yellowstarproductions6743 well i mean it's not only agreeing but rather it's just straight up Facts.
Just started this. I haven't played a SHMUP in ages so even a relatively placid one like this is kicking my ass lol.
@Draggydragon I think the difficulty is very similar, although playing the japanese version was easier as I knew what was comming up most of the time after playing english version.
I’m scared, I’m moving on.
@Draggydragon I suspect english iso was mp3 compressed ? Anyhow, Japanese version longplay up soon ;)
Game begins at 5:40
fuck. 5:40 anyway
Thank you for the timestamp.
this is like parodius
cool shmup ! =3 looks familiar to parodius . =) i must play this !!
11:23...yep, those are dragon balls
11:23 12:02 ❤❤❤❤
You up there on the dragon, you don’t want to fight the US Navy. Go home kid. Really, the US Navy comments on how Keio is riding a dragon, but are not going to comment on how she is dressed as a bunny girl?
@AmigaOmega
I dunno. Idownloaded (E) one and it was 131 mbs.
I told that quite a lot is cut, not very much but quite and it's truth. For example after each level they talk a lot more than in English in English it's just a short notice about what you will see next.
WHY DIDN'T THEY ADD THIS ON THE GENESIS MINI 2?!?! 😔
I know right
11:21 WHAT WHY DID THEY GIVE THE DRAGON A NUTSACK
I don't know
Wow, this old looking thing has voice acting. :O
Agreed
Stop right there!!!!!
Please tell me I just saw Keio and the dragon shooting down cute, innocent, and playful puppy dogs on flying carpets.....Please,for the love of humanity, tell me I did NOT SEE THAT!!!!!!!

@ValisHD y don't u handle the sequel for the Saturn
I wondered why there's a US Navy in the Keio era.
Watch at 21:47.
0:14 history lesson
I can't beleive they released this in the US
Me too.
@xValis77x But the Bio said the dragon was a girl O.o
Is that gonna be on the test?
Possibly
So JonTron Reference
Am I the only one who notices she's wearing a thong? I can't believe I bought this game at Toys R Us when I was 11.
that is why she is 20 years and not .....12?
She was 14 in the Japanese version but they upped her age overseas. Not hard to see why
BTW which version is harder? Usually japanese versions are easier than USA/Europe ones. For example, like it was with Final Fantasy VII. Though sometimes japanese versions are harder and better like with Kingdom Hearts final mix...
American is harder and more fun
2:50 I'm scared I'm moving on
I'm not
Looks fun, not $1,400 worth of fun though
Physically that is , wink wink
If anyone played the original japanese version of this they would know that quite a lot of the game is CUT OUT from English version. I was so surprised when I played the japanese one after english. Even some animations are cut and in-between level talks too and level previews. Japanese ISO is almost 600 mbs compared to only 131 mbs English one has.
Ok
Not a bad game, but definitely not worth current asking prices. Lol
3:31 Esperen rami chan tiene 20 años? 😮 Eso me pasa por no esperar a ver que hay más haya de la pantalla de titulo.
Ummm what is that suppose to be on that dragon's butt?
Quando eu vi esse jogo pela primeira vez, eu jurei que era um papagaio, só depois descobri que era um dragão 🐲🐉, kk.
Shame this costs like $1,000+ to get nowadays...

Simple solution:
*Emulator*
The PAL Demo Disc for the game actually has the whole game on it. if you can find the demo you can play the whole game by putting on the level select cheat.
The Sega CD lacks copy protection so you can just burn a copy of this game onto a CD-R and you'll be good.
$1700 now in july 2018
@@Video-Games-Are-Fun My Lord, last time I checked this game went for $100! $1700??? Complete and utter insanity
If that dragon is a female (3:37) then why does it have testicles? (11:22)
There was a lot of awkwardness here. I liked the first level's music though.

👍👍💯
This looks great for the genre it is in but it does not appeal to me.
regardless this is amazing for a 1993 game.
That is ok
Wow this game is worth $1,600
4000 now.
if only there were any type of cheats for this game, like in sonic cd
There is a level select cheat
wat is that voice acting?
Yes. English voice acting to be more specific
Am i on acids?
No 😅
Who else paid over $1500 for this?
...
11:40 level 2
What the fuck was that?
The voice acting is god awful
55:12
I don't mind it to be honest
55:12 also congratulations on being first
Great use of the Genesis color pallette since the CD added no colors
The genesis VDP actually had pins for external color RAM and a second 64K bank of tilemap/sprite RAM that were left unconnected to anything. If they had been brought out to the expansion port then the Sega CD could have increased the number of available color pallets (still would have only been 512 available colors but more could have been used at once, the Genesis had 4 pallets of 16 colors each split between the background tiles and the sprites and they could have doubled or even quadrupled the number of pallets with extra color RAM) and also had a bank of shared memory that would have made programming rotation and scaling much less complex (you had to move scaled/rotated sprites and tiles from the Sega CD to cartridge ROM memory space and from there the 68000 moved them to VRAM, with a shared memory space they could have just had it put them there and the VDP would have been able to access them immediately)
Unfortunately someone made the boneheaded decision to not connect those pins in order to save a few pennies per unit on manufacturing the PCB. The System C arcade board which used the Genesis VDP actually did use that feature though and had something like 8 pallets for sprites and 8 pallets for background tiles.
In case you are wondering how expensive that would have been, on the system C2 arcade board it's just a 2k RAM chip connected to the CRAM pins on the VDP, that's all that is required.
Blah blah blah history and blah blah blah war and blah blah blah nations.
Now I'm sure this was very intresting but it doesn't have anything to do with the game or it's plot itself so let's move on these 3 guys.
The only connection was that historical bit of trivia at the end of the game, where it says during the era the game takes place in some objects fell from the sky on to a city. This game is the fictional explanation of what happened.
Can you link which article I can find more information on this? I tried looking it up online but I couldn't find any articles about objects falling from the sky during the edo period injuring 200,000 people.
Also, wasn't that dragon supposed to be a female? Why does it have balls? 11:20
