One of the bests 3D artist I`ve seen because of the posing, the posing are very natural and realistic here, not only to sculpt a static humanoid figure.
That is because basic mesh was made in max, and zbrush was used to add details (skin roughness, etc.) so the wireframe never changed. the REAL wireframe is probably so high poly that it you probably would not be able to see the squares
Great reel dude!!! You got talent... I'm an architect and i normally use 3DS to model furniture but never in the level of detail you've made your model!!! Great stuff!!!
you are not far off in reality...for the second husky guy...got an uncle who is built that way....short northern european..farmer...and except for the face..he is a handsome man built just like your character...amazing really...
Absolutely beautiful Justi! You know it's a great model when it looks awesome before the textures are applied. Great attention to detail and human anatomy. I am graduating college shortly majoring in Game Design and I am definitely not this great yet but hope to be someday! Keep it up!
I only hope that this level of detail is going to be acceptable with the next generation of consoles, cuz a lot of talent is going to waste with the actual one... beautiful demo reel man ....max respect!!
probably, the final model is just a low-poly with details baked in it. Just a guess btw... Sculpt in hi-res, go back at low-res and bake hi-res details into low-res...
Such amazing work. The concept and detail are outstanding as well as the over compistion of the models. Keep up the awesome work and hopefully you have many prospects coming your way for emolyment. Hooah.
really beautiful work. your fabric and cloth deformations are my favorite. the wireframes are looking as nice as the art, but you should try to cut down on the polys and fill in detail with normal maps.
Thanks for your comments, I'm glad you like it. All models are modeled with zbrush and 3ds max. Once modeled in zbrush I posed with zb again and export to 3dsmax for a render. Wire renders are done with vRayEdgesTex material. Regards
Great work. Are these sculpted in the pose or rigged? Either way, very nice work. I like that you have left the model clay coloured and added a couple of other simply coloured items. It makes the work stand out. I especially like the chameleon biped at the start.
I really hope I can get to this level some day. The models are outstanding on their own and the presentation really seals the deal. At the time you made this how long had you been doing 3d stuff? And did you study any traditional mediums like sculpting or drawing? And last question! Could you share any info on your render/light set up? I'm sorry this is just one of those videos come back to all the time and I had to ask.
First of awesome work man youve really inspired me to get my ass in gear and start on my reel im loving your layout! is the background just a comped after effects one or is it all rendered from max using vray :-)
Great job Justin, i am a 3D modeler myself and i am very impress with the quality of your models, they are mind blowing, i have a question, how did you add that background in your Renders? and also how did you made the fine round circular table where your models are rotating in 360 degrees, it is part of 3ds max?
Your work is amazing! Where did you studied to learn all these skills? Or you just learned everything by yourself? I'm starting my 3D studies right now, I hope I can make some works like yours. Good work!
Hello all..!! wow, wow..!! I'm so glad that you like me reel...Thank you very much to all for your kind words!! frontzezs - the best way to use zbrush is a tablet.
some critiques that i have is when you show off the wires. I think that you should show the unsmoothed version. Also in my opinion you don't really need to have the models turn multiple times. Just turn them once. Also did you put any models in there that you just did in maya instead of zbrush. Putting some models from maya in there would show a wider range of skills. Otherwise they look great.
Your video is so excellent!! I know how complicated it can be… Looking forward to see more tutorials :)
These are fantastic. They look like they are real. Its amazing how far people came with computer generated models.
7 years ago I saw this video and fell in love with 3d modeling really thanks you :,)
your sculpting are my inspiration........you have a clearly sculpted brain.... you have a bright future... love ur works
My god man , the topology is just orgasmic to look at!

Love your lighting/rendering setup.. very apt for a modeling reel.. great works!
Great reel dude!!! You got talent... I'm an architect and i normally use 3DS to model furniture but never in the level of detail you've made your model!!! Great stuff!!!
this is one of the most amazing things i have ever seen
Love your characters and attention to detail!!! I'm just starting out in animation and it's great! These are some great models!
you are not far off in reality...for the second husky guy...got an uncle who is built that way....short northern european..farmer...and except for the face..he is a handsome man built just like your character...amazing really...
Nicely done, I think the pieces at the beginning are the strongest and match the music nicely. Great reel!
Absolutely beautiful Justi! You know it's a great model when it looks awesome before the textures are applied. Great attention to detail and human anatomy. I am graduating college shortly majoring in Game Design and I am definitely not this great yet but hope to be someday! Keep it up!
Models are usually started with a box or a shear.
Thank you. Your video reminded me of why I started sculpting in the first place.
no imagine having these guys in a movie. nice job bro :)
That is the best and most realistic female representation i've ever seen. Bravo you are going places. :P These are amazing.
looks amazing. You have one of the best reels I've seen.
Lighting & Rendering Looks Super Ultra Realistic. I Really Liked The Lizard Man Lighting And Rendering.
I only hope that this level of detail is going to be acceptable with the next generation of consoles, cuz a lot of talent is going to waste with the actual one...
beautiful demo reel man ....max respect!!
Very nice work. I know very little about 3ds max but my favorite program is zbrush. Love your work.

this dude's a freak. your work is of high quality (love from South Africa)
probably, the final model is just a low-poly with details baked in it. Just a guess btw...
Sculpt in hi-res, go back at low-res and bake hi-res details into low-res...

Myself want to create this level of artistic works.

Such amazing work. The concept and detail are outstanding as well as the over compistion of the models. Keep up the awesome work and hopefully you have many prospects coming your way for emolyment. Hooah.

i know im 2 years late but this is beautiful!!!!!!
Justin your work is impressive :O, Excellent!
I know he uses normal maps to keep the polycount low. I mean't to say how is his topology so perfect and evenly squared.
Hey, man, I'm kind of beginning at CG and I wanted to ask, I mean, did you get any jobs with this reel? I'm so curious about it!
Awesome work, though!
Thanks for your comments, I'm glad you like it. All models are modeled with zbrush and 3ds max. Once modeled in zbrush I posed with zb again and export to 3dsmax for a render. Wire renders are done with vRayEdgesTex material.

i watch this video every day.
usted es un artista espectacular, su trabajo es inspirador, gracias por compartirlo, saludos
I love the pirate! Awesome job. I wish I had at least 10% of your talent =(
Great work. Are these sculpted in the pose or rigged? Either way, very nice work. I like that you have left the model clay coloured and added a couple of other simply coloured items. It makes the work stand out. I especially like the chameleon biped at the start.
This is so cool, i want to do stuff like this for the characters i make
Wow, it's great. I'll can't do my 3D models so good as yours.
I really hope I can get to this level some day. The models are outstanding on their own and the presentation really seals the deal. At the time you made this how long had you been doing 3d stuff? You do stunning work
damned good work!
I bow to your leet-sauce skillz.
this is amazing. i was allways interested in 3d modeling. looks like i took a wrong path in my education.
retopologizing, he probably relaxed the polygons to make them that even, most retopologizing applications have relaxing tools
They look awesome!
wow!..i wish i could do this.great work bro....
man your work is awesome ..... good work i love it
You are the best ........ Impressive work...
Espectacular su trabajo hermano!
Your work is amazing! Where did you studied to learn all these skills? Or you just learned everything by yourself? I'm starting my 3D studies right now, I hope I can make some works like yours. Good work!
That would be a bigass tutorial, these models take skill, time and the proper education.
Congratulations, very nice and amazing work !! :)
Dude, Phenomenal work. Keep it up. Maybe play a little more with hardsurface becoming organic or vice versa?
Great Job ! First looks like real !
Hello all..!! wow, wow..!! I'm so glad that you like me reel...Thank you very much to all for your kind words!!

Anything is possible with any software, how hard are you willing to work is the question.
Damn I can't even make the thing they're standing on...
Nice work man :)
How are you rendering your wireframes so nicely at those high subdivisions?
You are so professional, can you make some tutorial ?
very good!!
hi, how did u put the gridlines in the object to fade in the render?
superb.......love your work.........!!
Practice and skill, built up over time! :D
really amazing work, well done.
his pipeline probably goes something like:
Basemesh (3dsMAX) >> detail Sculpt (zBrush) >> Retopologise (could use 3dsmax zBrush or other programmes)
cool man, this is awesome. Which song is in background, can u tell me if u want.
Very nice models and topology. Could U pls answer - did u retopologized it in Zbrush ?
