@GekkoSquirrel I believe a bot pretending to be you just messaged me and two others in a different comment thread in this video. If I'm incorrect, that's fine, but I just wanted to let you know to be safe.
The best feature in UNI2 is there's an option in the game that let's you skip the title sequence, intro, and main menu when you start the game and get taken directly into training/versus/online/etc. I find that incredible and more fighting games need that.
This video is so well made! Thanks so much for summarising some complex UNI systems and presenting them in a way that’s both entertaining and helps completely new players to understand and get excited about the game! Keep it up!
Vatista made me start playing the previous one... Purely because I heard what her inputs were like and I thought it was so sick that charge characters could finally get more than two sorts of inputs.
Support the gods, Kamone and Raito! The community has always seemed welcoming as well. Also, it hasn't been brought up enough but the early purchase bonus for this game is getting the S1 DLC completely free!
It's so huge that you can variably set input delay manually on the ready up screen. That'll allow the netcode to not get stressed in the high rollback situations and do so per match
Idk as a CLR vet I think they changed a lot ( for the better ) bnb feel so much easier to pull off and attacks feel lighter and the game actually had a damage increase to all move so the game is WAY faster now, only complaint that I have is that they made my boy byakuya’s voice less annoying
As an undernight enjoyer that never got to really play it because the netplay was dead, I'm so eager to see this game succeed finally. I seriously haven't ever seen a person play undernight and be underwhelmed (ha) by it, so here's hoping its release is solid and it doesn't hamstring itself.
He never said CL-r was getting rollback, He said he was working on a rollback netcode version of uni but the engine would not support it, so he rebuilt the engine and now we have a new game
As someone who has BlazBlue running in his veins, I've been a little disappointed with recent fighting games with how they've been simplified. This gets my blood boiling and Im really excited to finally learning Gordeu.
Under Night 1 was the right game at the right time that finally got me into fighting games after years of thinking that I could never get into them, and I'm so glad that I can finally introduce the series to more of my friends now that UNI2 has rollback. Let's hope that they add cross platform support as well.
I've been playing the demo for 2 and its so sick, i dont know whats going on with a decent part of the system mechanics because its my first uni, but i still love it Nvm, he explained it
Hi everyone its me, im the one that showed him that u can combo into tsurugi slide and its part of his bnb combo (No im not joking its literally me who sent the video)
I happened to figure out if you set your skill rating the same and one person does custom search and the other does training and search u can find them thru custom search and play with a friend
Man, Under-Night was the Game that got me into Fighting games, so I'm stoked to get my hands on the new one~ (Plus, that Rollback is gonna feel so clean once I get into it, lmao)
I found out the beta late (like last day late 😅) had a few fights but people kept making excuses about wanting to fight their friends (though that could've waited till the full release) and people got real tilted when I said that though I am right lol 😂
I have high hopes for UNI2, I always thought Unist was cool as hell but by the time I got into it the playerbase was mostly people who would just destroy me xd, so hoping i can get into UNI2 and actually find my footing in it. Cannot wait to grind the hell out of this game when it releases
Holy crap Kaguya looks like a mix of Petra from Arcana Heart and Noel from BlazBlue, and now I’m really wishing I knew about the beta when it was running
The biggest addition to this game is actually input buffer. Previous uni felt awful to move around in and felt strict with its inputs. Uni 2 actually feels like a modern game
0:35 : Started in FGs around 8 months ago and I'm still super casual, best I did was clear Mai Natsume's missions in BBCF (minus 2 stages) As a newbie, simplification is just that bad. How is autocombo good? I don't like making a combo without even understanding what my char is doing, neither achieving the reward of training and learning by just spamming A, and I know I'll have to learn every move on "manual" to really master them. GranBlue's simplified supers also suck to me. Cooldowns aren't that bad, but I'll wanna learn motions anyways (yes I play on keyboard) in case I wanna play other fighting games. For me, the thing that fear people isn't being too lazy to spend a day to get the inputs. It would be tutorials. And I don't just mean showing every strat one by one and repeat 4 times then forget about it like in GBFV (which is still the best tutorial by far I ever seen). I mean tutorials that would monitor the whole training of newcomers. Helping them grasp every concept, then train them, then train them again on the same things until it all comes together and they are able to consider all the options they have in a live match.
Very excited for Uni 2! However the changes they made to veil off are unfortunate to say the least. Before you could charge VO and that was removed, as well as the ability to strip vorpal from your opponent by either ending a combo in a way where you can get normal VO instead of CVO allowing you to break the opponent's vorpal state. It's a layer of the game that was removed that I thought was really cool before. Game seems a lot more aggressive now.
Just FYI: Vatista couldn't be counter hit for lore reasons. According to the wiki: "Vatista's ability is the "FLS of Binding" (隷約のFLS): Restriction (レストリクション). Its powers allow Vatista to obstruct her opponents from using their abilities. In gameplay, her opponent's cannot utilize their true strength which is shown as the opponent's inability to deal "counterhits"
Personally I was very use to rollback played 3rd Strike on fightcade I ended up quitting SF6 1 month in and said fuck it I miss Undernight (Only played trials in 2020) I'm gonna deal with the delay based. I ended up making friends and playing with them everyday. Was the best decision I ever made can't wait for release this game is extremely fun. Also for people who say "oh the games been out for 10 years I'll just wiped by veterans" while that's true so what? You will also fight new people. You don't have to fight demons if you don't want to. Play with friends or people your skill level and progress. You can still get to a high level if you grind regardless how many years people have played.
Undernight 2 is MISSING a EXPLOSIVE mechanic. Looking at past fighting games -UMVC3 had X FACTOR -SF6 had Drive system -Tekken 8 has Heat system -Kof had Shatter strive -GGST added Roman cancel and wild assault and deflect shield -DNF/Grandblue/Melty blood/blazblue/DBFZ/etc. I would of loved they took the best of each of these series and threw it in this game. At least it’s what I plan to do when I develop my own fighting game. As it stands now. The game is a solid 7/10. Nothing that makes me go “oooooooooooo” when you land or activate. I just see optimal combos and high skill playing. (But will eventually be easily forgotten after a couple months :( )
no it definetly has an explosive mechanic lmao. Celestial vorpal. If you have 6 blocks of grid and win the cycle you get celestial vorpal that gives you basically X factor, damage bonus is absurd, 30%. Also during vorpal you get 25% meter back when using ex moves, combined with celestial vorpal filling you with grid blocks you can chain shift(roman cancel but gives you meter instead of spending it) and you will have back even more meter to use for the combos.

Not a competitive UNI player by any means, so take this long opinion with a grain of salt: Under Night is a slower-paced, almost strategic fighting game, with a big emphasis on shielding and blocking, no double jumps and wacky air combos (minus a few exceptions), and the GRD tug of war. I personally feel that adding a mechanic that could explode players like Guilty Gear Wild Assaults or Marvel Vs Capcom X-Factor would at best feel fairly out of place and at worst ruin a couple of the cast. Imagine if Seth got hit by an optimal X-Factor-adjacent combo with his paper defense, especially with UNI2's increased damage in general. There probably would be several characters with ToDs on him. Heck, Hyde has a ToD in the beta that can kill more than a few characters without something like this. I know the UNI2 beta will most likely get several balancing changes to address stuff like this before release day, but I'd much rather not relive the grotesque fever dream that was Guilty Gear Strive's early days with maniacal damage levels, especially not in a slower, more strategy oriented game like UNI. Under Night does have something though; Veil Off has an effect where your damage for all attacks is increased by 20 to 30% (depending on Vorpal State) while you have unlimited meter for a limited time, and the better version, Cross-Cast Veil Off, can go straight into Infinite Worth with a shortcut rather than doing the full input. These work just fine in this game and I would rather keep it like that. Just my 2 cents, though

Under Night was the one fighting game besides Dragon Ball that needed rollback so I'm happy that the community finally got it. I'm part of that 10% of players who did pick it up and ended up not liking it but Type Lumina came out and as a Melty fan was happy with that. Thankfully I found Kaguya to enjoyable and Eltnum started to click a bit better so hopefully things don't end up in a "I tolerate this game but I don't really like it" situation. Still wish the game had better movement but that's what Melty is for.
I was legit forgetting that rollback was a "feature" that needed mentioning as if it was a surprise. I thought you were gonna say something like the roll, or something else. Idk.
Finally I get to play Sion in another new game cause they didn't want to add her to Lumina. Maybe I can finally stop playing mbaacc as my main game now and I can finally play a game that's relevant.
nah, I played both previous parts so much that I don't want to buy next clone with almost nothing significantly new. I mean, the cost of it, as always happens with jp games, is too high for a little bit of graphical and UI enchancement and a literal couple of characters. I could see a reason to buy all parts of BlazBlue or GG, but this... they gonna have to make at least a 60% sale on this. not my bad they couldn't just update UNIB Exe Late[cl-r] with adding rollback and DLCs. the GBVSR at least looks much better than GBVS (even with fkd up char selection screen, opposed to GBVS somehow)
Before strive came out, I was actually counting on it and the then newest Undernight game to have rollback. They were literally going to determine whether I kept playing fighting games or not, after poor experiences with poor netcode in DBFZ, SF5, Tekken 7, Smash, SC6, and BBTAG. Undernight ended up letting me down, coming out with delay-based netcode still. Meanwhile, Strive came through and showed me that I do actually enjoy fighting games. It (and skullgirls) also kept me interested enough for SF6 to come out, which further raised the bar on what good netcode looks like. All the while, I hoped UNICLR would get rollback still, so I could play it, but that day never came. I am very happy that UNI2 is finally getting it. However, it is a bit too late. The days are gone where only a couple of games interested me. Now, I have many to play: Strive, SF6, the soon-to-release Granblue, KOF, and so on. With so many interesting fighting games out for me to play, I am not in a rush to play UNI2. Especially not at the given price point, which offers less value than Granblue, which I am getting for sure. If I do get UNI2, it will only be when it is on sale.
Street Fighter 5 *had* rollback netcode. It was poorly designed and implemented, leading to laughably bad results, but it *was* rollback netcode. (Just a reminder that rollback isn't a magic solution, it can still be done badly.)
The negative consequences of the mob mentality. Not understanding what is possible and what isnt. Strive didnt """"die"""" and it didnt release with crossplay. neither did mk1. And both those games are garbage.
Hey man I think that’s a bad excuse the game feels so good to play and the mechanics are fun along with the characters too, at least see if you can give it a try bc the art is like 10-15% of the game

Yes, I am well aware of GRD.
I even made a comment on another channel that it may make it harder for the losing opponent to recover and come back.
- the opponent on the offensive can quickly build 6 squares meaning they have a quicker access to getting a buff. So on TOP of being in the lead they now have a stacked boost that buffs them AND allows them to build up more GRD.
Less likely but if you play perfect or perfect your opponent.. you’ll easily get 12 squares which if you’ve managed to do that then you’ve already won and the buff from celestial vorpal is just over kill at this point.
There is a mechanic, but this mechanic only benefits the player in the lead to steam roll your opponent.
It would be nice if they both had a mechanic
Example like X-Factor (from UMVC3 that heals you boosting your defensiveness and boosts your attack damage output which in tune boosts your offensiveness) that they both can activate
Rather than a mechanic that is dependent on offensive playstyle and favoring the winner which basically means that the losing player
- has to build GRD
- not play poorly or flawed so their opponent doesn’t find a opening and build GRD
- has to catch up from the low HP and Low GRD that they’re at
- not die from the Buffed GRD opponent on the offensive.
I do like the new mechanic, but I wouldn’t really call it explosive nor a game changer… more like a game definer as it favors the winning or better player.

Imagine Johnny being an anime girl with whatever moves, proceeds to show yuzuriha getting her mouth bust. Wow Johnny as anime girl sucks.
Ok u from zetta's chat
yuzuriha better be in the new unist, i don't care that i'm bad at the game i just want the funny sword girl
No characters that were present in UNICLR are getting cut. It's the exact same cast, just with a few new faces.
Hoping UNIB 2 comes to Xbox One
I miss Kaguya...
Is it rollback, it’s rollback
so this mean's your quitting strive for this right?
Does it have crossplay?
no. Kamone(director) literally admited on his stream on weekends that they are broke and cant afford the work on it.
@@MokoES sad news
Love Uni but if it don't release with cross paly it's DOA
Same, all fighting games need cross play as well.
The Dev literally said while live streaming the beta, that they didn't have enough money for that 😢.
The negative consequences of the mob mentality. Not understanding what is possible and what isnt.
Strive didnt """"die"""" and it didnt release with crossplay. neither did mk1. And both those games are garbage.
Game looks cool but they killed their own game by releasing it a day before Tekken 8
Meow
Wtf, I spent like 10 minutes waiting for the Neco Arc season pass 1st DLC announcement and I just got rollback? Unsubscribed!
First
The main thing stopping me from getting under night is the artstyle, the ugly uninspired character design, and the graphics.
Hey man I think that’s a bad excuse the game feels so good to play and the mechanics are fun along with the characters too, at least see if you can give it a try bc the art is like 10-15% of the game
don't slander my goat kamone
One of the worst takes I’ve ever seen
Zoomer when the game isn't in 3D.
