Hi Karima, another topical video ! I'm older than you, so yeah, I'm feeling acky, plus I am scheduled for a right hip replacement surgery in the next few weeks. I have always been physically active, and continue to be so now. My job is physical, I do yoga (since I was a young teenager, plus I used to be a fitness instructor back in the day), hike, bike, kayak, etc., etc. As to one's wardrobe: I do color, and lots of it. One of the ways I manage it, is that I color code my closet, e.g., I start with black, go to grey, purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, etc., etc., with the clothes hanging in my closet and on my closet shelving. It really helps me to use all of my colors and mix/match in combos that are interesting. Thanks for your video -- your dinner sounds yummy ! Cheers.
Oh sweetie, I do hope you have a speedy recovery from your hip replacement. I have a friend who recently had her second hip replacement and she is recovering very well. Hopefully you will experience the benefits of full movement very soon. Amazing that you do so much colour, but it sounds like you are on top of organising your clothing in a sensible way. Brilliant! I have never organised my closet, but you wait, I'm on a mission now and determined to get somewhere with it all xx
You’re doing a lot of my thinking for me here x I’m getting lots of signals at the moment to update my overall appearance and clothing is definitely a big part of it x I would love a personal capsule wardrobe too 😊 x
Hi, you should check out the stylist I mention in my video, very interesting and useful advice and it's helping so much so far. I will show you what I've bought so far. But it will take time to really build up my wardrobe as I would like it to be. I'm working on it. So youre getting 'lots of signals', in what way I wonder. Let me know
Great insight! Alva looks so natural on you! Great talk, This helps, it inspires me to get on with purging my wardrobe of all my long over due comfy clothes and revamp, I have not shopped in so long. (Dixie)💌
Hi, Alva has been so good. I wear her a lot, especially for work. I'm glad you feel inspired. You should see the state of my bedroom at the moment, clothes everywhere. I am going through my closet and taking all the stuff I don't wear out. Also all the stuff that's too small or not quite right for me...it's all going. And it feel great. I went shopping today and am slowly starting to build on wearable clothes, but I'm taking my time to make sure that the new clothing fits right and suits me. I will do a try on on Saturday and see what we all think! xx
Hi Jean, hope you are well. I'm going to look into this problem in detail and create a good workable collection of clothing that stay current over time. I don't want to waste money so I need to choose carefully. Take care my friend xx
Great chat- I couldn’t agree with you more about investing in quality pieces to build a capsule wardrobe. I feel like now is the time! I’ve wasted so much money on cheap fast fashion over the years. Meanwhile I go in my Moms closet and borrow her good leather purses and shoes which are from the 70’s and 80’s and still in style. Why didn’t I learn from her? Oh well, it’s never too late ❤
You could say you had a great role model to emulate. you are lucky, I wish I had. I don't know what went wrong really, other than being a bit of rebel who turned their back on such things..I regret it now of course but as you say, I'm delighted it's not too late. Im definitely on the case now though and am very busy researching and starting to purchase useable pieces. I hope I will continue to benefit from your insight and comments as I go. Take care xx
You are so right. My wardrobe is the same. Loads of clothes but nothing I want to wear. 😂 I'm 57 and when I wake I feel achy too, be nice to wake up feeling refreshed on a morning 😅. Lainey x
Oh Laine, what are we to do! Some days I'm okay but some days I'm just so stiff. I was more stiff though before I started HRT, I think it's helped. I'm going to try and get to the bottom of where I went wrong with my clothing choices..my general approach to my wardrobe. One of the obvious problems is buying too many prints, they're always difficult to use in outfit ideas. I do hope to hear more from you about this, it's very interesting to see how other middle aged women are doing. Isn't it amazing that we still haven't figured things out even at our age xx
@lifeandhair HRT never seemed to be an option at my doctors. The only question they asked was, "Are you having hot flushes," which I wasn't. Every other symptom, yes! 🙄 You are so right in our 50s, and we are still not happy with our wardrobes 😆
@@lainey5767 the whole HRT thing is so varied depending on nothing more than luck of the draw. I had a doctor who kept giving me courses of antibiotics for urine infection when my symptoms were to do with hormones. It’s desperately poor care!
Lady, I hear you. I started taking omeg3 with vitamin B12 for brain function, Vitamin D3 (10 000iu), with K2, bilberry extract for my eyes, 20g of probiotic fibre, magnesium and 500mg of NMN. I take these EVERY DAY, and when I don't it's noticeable, horribly noticeable. My eye specialist said I have exceptional eye health for my age. These are considered a baseline selection of vital supplements for over 40 year olds. Please friends, if you're reading this comment I beg you to try these for one month, at the very least the omega 3 with B12 (they need to be taken together: check out Food for the Brain) and the Vitamin D3 with K2, and the magnesium. Your body will definitely thank you.
Hi, wow, what an interesting selection of supplements you take. Really unusual ones, I have heard of most of them though and know how good they are. Interesting that you feel the difference when you don't take them, wow! I know I desperately need to get my act together regarding supplements...I must get round to it. Thanks for the reminder! xx
Hi Karima, I’m with you on the creaks and aches, but then i have fibromyalgia so I go to bed with them and wake up with them, My Constance companion, lol. I have 3 wardrobes full of clothes, a lot with labels still on I but I still complain I have nothing to wear. Most, doesn’t fit And I certainly don’t have a capsule wardrobe, doesn’t help when my weight fluctuates. I will watch with interest how you get On. Tuesday we went to Deal for one of my birthday celebrations, fave things, charity shops, lunch and coffee with cake out, And a gorgeous warm sunny day, slightly different from yours, lol. Look forward to next vlog. Xx linda
Sorry to hear about your aches and pains, fibromyalgia is not pleasant. I hope you aren't too bad with it. I'm amazed you say you have so many clothes as yet unworn and with their tags! unbelievable! but somehow I'm not that surprised. I've been to M&S to pick a few things, just starting to get everything together. I'm doing a try on of the stuff I got on Saturday. But it takes time to really collect stuff, but once you have it should last for years, so we'll see how we go. Your day in Deal sound lovely, I'm definitely planning on exploring it more and I love visiting places in the Autumn and Winter, not just the summer. I'm glad you had sun xx
If you think you're achy now, just wait - soon to be 65 and I'm wondering, "How did this happen?!! Wasn't I just 42??!!". I'm a relatively new subscriber but your hair look today is probably my favorite so far - very pretty.
hahaha 😅, yes, I have a very good friend who is 10 years older than me and she says exactly the same. Mmm, I don't have any solutions to our problem I'm afraid...I often look at people like Madonna and wonder what her secret is. I'm glad you like Alva, she has been really convenient for work, so I've been wearing her often. Speak again soon I hope xx
Finally figuring out my colour season has been a game changer for my wardrobe and style.
It's so much easier getting dressed now!
I’m trying to work out mine at the moment, it’s been eye opening so far, wish me luck!!

Greetings Karima! We are so in sync! These issues are on my mind too. I'm looking forward to continued chats with you! Love and blessings ♥️🙏
