Won't ruin the surprise but sure you will get something of it building antennas.

Great wee meter for folks like yourself, simple resonant verticals here, so no test gear in my shack at all. Saved 80 quid, wife got a good malt hi hi. Look forward to seeing you on the coast putting signals my way. Cheers mate.

Saved yourself £80 but you have that lovely CW key I'm envious of. Struggling to get enough time to get to the saltwater for some operating, even then its not at the best times. Heres to hoping.

I had one of the cheap ebay Chinese LCR meters and "component tester" but it only measured as low as a handful of mH, so I ended up getting the Peak LCR45 and it's absolutely brilliant. I wouldn't be without it. Definitely worth the money.

Absolutely. I've total trust in it and wouldn't be without.

To work out inductor values you can use an ESR meter to read the resistance. use this formula l uH = R (ohms) divided by 0.628.

Can you tell me if the meter measures the ESL/equivalent series inductance of an electrolytic capacitor? Thanks!

You are starting to get really serious into this now! 😀🥹 Didn’t have tools such as this 40 years ago, I’ve borrowed one several times and I have to say what used to take hours or even days to perfect can be done in minutes. I don’t build much these days and experimenting with aerials is where it’s mainly at so vids such as this are great. Thanks for posting and encouraging us. 73 de M0AZE Mike

Thanks Mike. Yeah this opens up a realm of new possibilities. Look forward to the experimenting.
