This video is in HDR. RUclips can take a day or two to process it before it'll show in HDR. The audio also seems to be compressed compared to the original file, making the music seem louder than it was when editing.
As some other Z9K Owners like myself have done is post online photos of highlight movie scenes. Note : my TV had been professionally calibrated by V.E. prior to shipping to me. My TV does not have the "rainbow" effects or blooming as to the degree as describe by CT. Is there blooming, yes, but not to the degree that affects enjoyment of watching content (plus I do not go looking for it or other artifacts) and definitely is not a deal breaker.
Bought the 85" Z9K from Value Electronics even after Sony announced their 2024 TV lineup. Sony decided to keep the 8K Z9K as the 2024 Master Series model...and Im totaly fine with it 😊
Hi Classy, I was hoping you could help me out with judder on 24p content played at 60p with this tv. I can’t find a setting that works to remove judder. On Rtings, with most other Sony TVs they state to remove judder you have to set custom CineMotion with both on Min, and Motionflow on High, but with the Z9k, while these settings do remove judder they cause a lot of stuttering and lag on some of my content. What’s weird is it’s perfectly smooth with these settings using the internal apps; I’m only getting stuttering with devices connected to the HDMI inputs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for reply so quick. I do use those settings for 24p content but unfortunately, those settings do not remove judder from 60p content and it’s really distracting as I hate judder. I’m just surprised there isn’t a sure fire way to remove judder on the tv as I also have a Samsung tv that removes judder just fine.
@@ClassyTechCalibrations Makes sense, I've just been seeing people praising it a lot lately. This comment kinda confirms my suspicions. The blooming control seems excellent but its still a TCL at the end of the day.
Praise is biased as Chinese are cheap. That’s perfectly fine and i like to see value propositions. But people then have to justify not spending more of really good flagships from Japan or Korea and way overplay it.
@@absolutevideo1899 that's because 8k is a bigger deal in Japan. The L will not come here, but an "M" likely will. Maybe that one will actually resolve 8k resolution since the K doesn't.
@@michael-4k4000 not really wanting the x95l. I have the x930e and while it may not be the best, I want to go alot brighter. Trying to see if it'd be worth it to get the z9k when the z9m comes out. Only time will tell though. I have the a90j right now and it's solid but not bright enough
Does SONY use a better MiniLED panel on their Z9K compared to their buget X93L ($1599) the way LG uses their MLA panels only for their upcoming G4 but not their mid tier C4 ???
I've got to send my 85 back because of the blooming can't be unseen and it's not worth the brightness. 8k is overrated and I don't know when upscaling is happening. I gave it chance with hard earned money anyway 😢

Hey Classy Thanks for the video !! My 77A80J is still going Strong since you calibrated it a year ago. !! Thanks !!!
Thanks for the video, Classy. I find the music distracting though.
I think RUclips's compression made it louder than it sounds on the original file. I'll keep that in mind for the future.
I also expected A95L, not outdated lcd
yes sir music level is a bit distracting!@@ClassyTechCalibrations
I use these settings on my Z9J and it’s great! Thank you for sharing 👍🏻

Smoothness and Clearness on 1 and Cinemotion on low is what I recommend for HDMI devices on Sony LCDs.

If you put the Z9k local dimming on High, then how close to or better than the X95l would it be????
Would you ever try to review the hisense UX, as it have the most interesting hardware for 2023 minileds?
Will this upscale any better compared to his 4K counterpart
Thanks Classy Sir!
Would you please review the x90l?
Hopefully soon
@@ClassyTechCalibrations thanks 👍
Do you have any plans to review the QM8?
Not sure I'll get a chance to. From what I've seen it would be a mostly negative review from my channel.

Is a Z9L coming out?
Nope
@@ClassyTechCalibrations theres one coming in 2024 its already on the shelves in Japan and its stunning with new tech added and upgraded picture.

yeah had the Z9J and returned it for the same reason. The brightness was mind-blowing but not at a cost no pun intended of such distracting blooming.
👍🏽👍🏽
i need 8k for use as PC screen. would never buy 4k.
