Oh I love him singing this wonderful aria. There is such love and warmth in his voice, it just makes me melt. I think today, 10th December, is the anniversary of the first time La Fanciulla del West was performed isn't it? I'm sure that Puccini would have been proud and overjoyed to have seen Jonas Kaufmann's interpretation and performance of Dick Johnson.
Only hearing this voice you understand the true character of Dick Johnson, a bandit by necessity and not by vocation. And you believe him. This is a tender, hardly believable story , but filled with love, faith and hope. Great, charming Jonas!
