Have you thought about making a deck extension to the little wood barrier wall in front of the building? Should make it feel even bigger. I'm looking at the pictured between 9:50 and 10:00 in the video. You can extend the deck to your retaining wall and the retaining wall will function as support for the deck. Then you could easily put a few chairs and a table out there. Secondly, once you fill in nice flowers, ornamentals and/or shrubs around the area it will really compliment the stain you have. Very cool!
Ohhh really like this idea. I think that’s be awesome. We had talked about building a little jut out with stairs but I like the idea of extending the deck over even more! Thanks for the suggestion!
Hi Cody on the last stage on this same shed, I will be posting my video soon, did the roof first like you recommended, good idea 👍🏼. Could you also recommend the stain that you used?
Hey Cody I built the Palma 3 version of this in my backyard from Allwood. I'm just wrapping up the exterior but cannot find a good stain for it....which polyurethane did you use? Is there a product you can share?
I was gone a couple weeks but I am back and so happy to see all the progress. Still watching videos and catching up but Cody Family I AM SOOOOOO HAPPY AND PROUD OF YALL! Would love to pick your brains one YT family to another? How would one contact you and ask advice?
You say this is a good idea and you would do it again, but that seems pretty biased. You put a ton more money, labor, and time into this than expected. I wonder what it would have cost to have a local contractor help you out with this project? Would be interesting to see the comparison on all fronts.
Honestly, I think it’s my bad photography haha. I took the interior shots with my iPhone on wide angle and it made everything look a lot smaller. The room is studio portion is 15x9ft + the little alcoves and the shed is 9x11ft. In person, they both feel pretty spacious.
@@CodyGarrow Cody, I'm getting ready to order the Aruba, to use as an art studio. Robin, the co-owner of Allwood in the states (she's based in FL) has been very helpful, but I can't do anything until I get a permit. I'm on FL Gulf Coast bayou waterfront, 12 ft up, and my property slopes, which means I've been thinking of the easiest, most affordable and permissible way of creating a foundation. I'll probably have to get a variance for the structure. I will be mandated to tether the building solidly into the ground, no doubt. There's decking already around where I want the structure to "float"; that's why I didn't select your model. I will also ask for additional windows (from the city) because the light and waterfront view are too important not to take advantage of. You said that the permitting ordeal was just a lot of hours of bureaucracy. I do not want to be told no, especially since the structure won't even be close to the water's edge, even during our hurricanes and heavy storms. * Question: Can you give me any advice on how to deal with our "difficult" city? *Question: I was hoping that I would not have to spend more than 20,000 for the whole project. Could that be the right ballpark? The truck can dispense the materials easily right on location, and I can have affordable laborers' help. (Watched all of your Allwood videos. Congrats on your new angel.) Many thanks. Irene
@@irenehoffman2190 Irene, I'm also considering one of the Allwood models and would love to connect with Robin. Would you mind sharing her contact info? If so, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Looks amazing! We are thinking of a tiny home to build as well and this is very helpful.
Love it. I think that stain is going to look even better once it becomes more weathered.
Thanks Austin!!
Great job! I enjoyed the whole process!

Thank you for sharing your experience.
If you had added bath and kitchen facilities, you would be able to use it as a B&B and have your office inside your house.

Did you use conduit when running wire underground?
I planned to run conduit but our electrician actually told me not to. He used direct burial and we went down 18 in.
@@CodyGarrow ahh makes sense. you guys did a fantastic job!
Hmm the building looks a lot smaller than I expected.
Probably cause he cut it in half to make a shed.

Music is incredibly annoying. I’d rather just hear what you’re saying.
