I was on the fence about this game due to finances, but this looks fun and think i'll get it
Hey this game is pretty good
Such a cool idea for an FPS game!
I absolutely love how they tried to make the reloading very realistic. It helps me realize just how differently war was paced in the Civil War times.
War before wwii was totally different.
@@robertharris6092 Correction the major game changer was WWI, thats when most countries had to finally realize, that gone were the days of bright uniforms, horse cavalry charges and firing at your foes out in the open without cover in a tightly packed formation. WWII took notes from the playbook of WWI and tried to refrain from repeating the same mistakes while also trying to further capitalize on the game changing aspects brought forward in WWI, like warplanes, large capacity automatic weapons, motorized armored attack vehicles, better medical treatment and equipment, more consistent and faster communication methods etc etc.
People don't give WWI nearly enough credit for its role in changing the course of warfare and basically setting the groundwork for various modern tactics of warfare many of which would see major successful use in WWII.
@@TheRougeSky hence how war. BEFORE. WWII. was very different.
@@robertharris6092 *Shrugs* I guess my attempt to convey that you should be saying Before WWI instead of WWII was a failure. I apologize for that but you really should be leading with that not WWII.
It interests me how it evolved over time. From formal lines and muskets, to machine guns and gas, to the way we do things now.
That 'steady, aim, fire' thing was pretty sick

Really late, but there is a lot more of that in Competitive battles. More in depth and accurate formations, commands, tactics and the like. What they are playing here is a pub match so its not really organized.
It was pretty cool lol
@Vean Studio Yeah So the way my regiment does it, is we generally have a main body of all around infantry men, and then a detachment that doubles as artillery or skirmishers. If the Arty is playing arty they drop shells in areas before we attack. Then if they are attached they form a loose order line in front of the rest of us to harass and find the enemy for the rest of us.
@Vean Studio Yeah, we love playing it. We actually play in the equivalent of the pro league lol. Its amazing how sometimes even 4-5 regiments can work together

@@xxampxx8579 as much as it took to reload and how inaccurate the shots are, infantry was still pretty effective, especially with the right discipline and tactics.
I love how this started out 'normal' and digressed into insanity. I love when Bob and Wade play with you.
The screaming the Confederates do when they charge is called the Rebel Howl. It was a psychological warfare tactic used to freak out the Union. Back story: a Union Officer was talking about the howl and the chills that it sent all around him. Another soldier told him that he heard the howl and it didn't scare him. The officer looked at him and said with a straight face and monotone voice, then said "If it didn't scare you, you didn't hear the real thing"
It's pretty interesting how psychological warfare has changed over the years. In the US Civil War, people get spooked by yelling. While in the 17th century, making noise on the battlefield was the norm.
So when a completely silent cavalry showed up during the 30 Years' War, everybody in the other armies thought they'd been attacked by something supernatural. ...Nope, it was just Finnish Hakkapeliitta riders whose tactic involved riding into battle in complete silence, shooting two pistols and then drawing a sword. They even died silently. XD The other cavalries of the time were always yelling and making noise, and there's these grumpy guys on small horses going "..."

Fun fact: (I learned this when my class went to Gettysburg) flag bearers where usually the first to be killed in battle
I think because they were an obvious target. Troops rallied around the colors when officers were killed or couldn't be found. Kill the guy that your enemy is rallying around and the unit begins to collapse into disorder. A cousin of mine was in a Tennessee regiment and described in a diary entry how many flag bearers were usually killed when they went into battle
ya think? lmfao
Seems legit
I think that's a common occurrence in gunpowder warfare in general, not just the civil war.
Gee, I wonder why.

That “Fuzzy” grey effect is actually you in a adrenaline rush. Means you nearly got hit or grazed, but you’re still in the fight.
In the game it’s the suppression or bullet wind mechanic. Bullet Wind was a state of shock and trauma brought on by having a bullet pass by you, which would shake a man in the ranks, knowing he nearly died. It’s represented by the screen becoming fuzzy, and your aim becoming significantly harder to control.
@@theodoreroosevelt2154 yes adrenaline it what that's called

More terrifying.
Someone said and I quote: “when’s the battle Royale?” To the response: “CIVIL WAR BATTLE ROYALE!”
I can only guess that any real life war has been very confusing and terrifying to go through! Who knows if there were any shots on the same team. It probably happened.
From what I can tell, tactics and coordination was about at this level too.
@@AbrahamLincoln4 the man himself has spoken
16:03 Imagine how terrifying it would be to actually be in that situation
ProDudeFilms some people in the past were in situations like that

That would suck
That was exactly what happened in the past. Men charge knowing that the enemy has their sights on them, and the first ones leading the charge know they are the ones who take the bullets, knowing that it is a sacrifice that has to be done. Just like mark said, they can't get all of us, they only have so many bullets. Horrifying.
@@dankovac1609
And it takes 2 minutes to reload those guns if you are really good at it.
Mark: “What’s important is that we have to take this seriously.”
Wade: “MOLLY WITH MY FOOD!”
Mark: "It's hard to tell who's who."
Historically accurate. When the Civil War first started, there was tons of confusion during fights early on precisely because of this - mainly because there wasn't a standardized uniform at first. People just kind of wore whatever to battle...
Even pajamas?
theres always confusion in general the only way to tell friend or foe from a distance is the flag bearer and that only works if u know the different flags of each side altho i appreciate the little info and ill add to it with the first ever battle was both confusing as hell and treatred as an event by the citizens of the town it happened outside of they literally picniced a short distance away spectating and for the soldiers it was confusing cause both sides wore alot of blue so they didnt know who to shoot and it kinda all fell apart with the union ultimately breaking after a short skirmish
I think that the one of the South Carolina regiments might have also stolen Union uniforms.
And the first confederate flag looked similar to the union flag
Fast forward to the wars we're involved in today, the enemy has no uniform at all...
What I loved was Mark got a real sense of battle in this game, from the discipline, chaos of battle and when he remarked accurately when someone is shot they just get ripped away; this is a real eye-opener to see played out and it is why I love this game.

I'd be extremely shocked if the number of people there reached the hundred mark, much less thousand. “It was a Revolutionary War campaign.”
Wade says during the Civil War.
"I'm making all of this up."
WELLL.....TECHNICALLY you could argue it was a Revolutionary war...just specifically for the Confederacy.
To put it short..ish, the Union wanted the Southern states to live by a way that would BETTER suit the Union states than it did The new Confederacy, (kinda like how the EU works one could say :P ),
The Southern states refused time and again, various violent acts or similar behaviors sprung about from the decades-long tension until the South, more or less, said SCREW THIS, and shots were fired.
Had the Confederacy won, (they were fighting to DEFEND Their way of life, not take over the Union), or at least made an agreement at Appomattox WITHOUT...them clearly losing, (look at Gettysburg, Vicksburg and particularly Sherman's March to sea among other campaigns), then it would be considered a Revolutionary War perhaps just as much as it is considered a civil war more or less.
It's a Civil War cause they didn't successfully secede, and the Union was the victor, and to the victor goes the spoils...which includes recording history as you see fit. Thus it is merely seen as a splitting of a nation that was then fixed...albeit with more force than what started it. :P

@Reygan Briggs yes, because you wanted to create your own country, which soul purpose is to expand the institution of slavery, and your average confederate soldier knowing and willingly fought for it (many soldiers feared that emancipation would lead to African American riots, and that slavery was the best way to contain them)
@Reygan Briggs to that statement Lincoln said. Yes he did say that, but you have to understand the context. Lincoln said that as a response to the New York Times which criticized him for not taking decisive action against the south. AND OF COURSE he emphasized saving the union, most of the United States (including the north) were intensely racist at that point. That was Lincoln’s constant struggle in his presidency, having to side with hardened abolitionists and white supremacists. I notice you didn’t include the concluding remarks to that speech where Lincoln said. “And I intend no modification of my oft expressed personal wish, that all men everywhere could be free.
For your second point, The United States was founded under principles under the enlightenment, the confederacy was formed by an electoral vote, and for those around 89 years before the civil war, where do you think those slaves were? I can tell you it sure as shit wasn’t Ohio or Massachusetts. Yes, their was racism up north, and I will never deny that, but their is a clear difference between a group of people being attacked and a group of people being enslaved. Both are horrible, but their is a difference between the two.
Finally, Lincoln’s FAMILY owned slaves when he grew up in Kentucky. He had no control over his mother and fathers choices for them, and he regularly was kind to them. When the farm shifted ownership to him, he freed the slaves

The generally agreed upon reload time for a Civil War percussion cap rifle-musket is around 20-30 seconds depending on how good you are.
Brennan Palm Prussians were trained to fire one round every 15 seconds!
Minute and a half maybe if you've never seen a musket... hell my first time loading a musket only took me a minute.
Wade: *gets food* "prepare for trouble"
Mark: "and make it double! "
"I don't see anybody to shoot at, I'm just gonna shoot to feel part of this"
every war of rights match
If someone charged at me screaming the way Mark did at 18:06, I'd be scared for my life. 🤣
This is awesome! To see more people playing War Of Rights. My regiment is glad that it might bring more light to it.
Hope you enjoyed it, and play it again.
10th U.S. REGULARS as a fellow fan and your rival because I’m 1st SC I agree
This game looks quite slick. I have no idea why I haven't even heard of it so far. Might give it a try myself.
@Rage virus and zombification are 2 diverse concepts The melee combat, as far as I can see, is pretty much non-existent. The broken bayonetta stabs just hit/miss as they please.
As for Napoleonic Wars, I didn't play that one a lot, but is that game still alive?
When it comes to M&B, I think Mark would be thrilled to bless us with a round of Bannerlord instead of revisiting any of the aged games in the series. That is of course if we live to see Bannerlord's fated release.
@@gilardes The server that Mark was playing on was a European server. That would account as to why his stabs missed is because the ping is so high on these servers. I was there with mark and I lead the Street fight where the union won, and I also lead the Harpers Ferry camp as well so it was fun to play against and with a RUclipsr, even though he didn't talk at all. I was more focused on leading the men than I was anything else
@@IronBrigadeStudios I see. That makes sense. It would be such a pity if they had messed up melee combat in such a nice looking game.
I am so happy to see so much of Bob and Wade again recently!
17:00 "why don't we flank right and charge up the hill?"
"because we would be charging up a hill!"
nothing like hearing men scream _suka blyat_ in the civil war while they charge towards you with their bayonets xD
Ironic considering the russians in this period were getting destroyed by the Japanese.
Cyka Blyat*
you know what that means, right? Good!
@@kylexwlsn8372 yah lol
@@robertharris6092 Actually the Russo-Japanese War doesn't happen until 1904, so yeah.
bob: commander i trust you completly
Someone maybe commander: lets enslaves them
mark wade and bob: process what they heard
mark wade and bob: laugh
13:00
Reenacting the Olustee Battlefield in Florida, it is usually around Valentine's Day. Funnier than, "Let's enslave them" was when one of the Confederates shouted to the Union reenactors on February 14th, "Happy Valentine's Day motherf**kers! We're going to shove a bayonet in your a$$!"
only in today's world can we lightly laugh at that.
@@AstanaxKnight So how do reenactments of wars happen? Like do they use like cork guns so it shoots but doesn't hurt each other and if shot they fall down and pretend to be dead?
I don't know I never seen a war reenactment myself but I'm sure they use some kind of prop weapons so they don't really harm each other since it's all fake and kinda a play thing I think. I'm sorry if I'm wrong.
@@EmilySpiritExTthey use something called “caps” when they make the same sounds and smoke but nothing comes out and usually to know if you die your commander will walk behind you and say “next volley fall down” or something, at least to my knowledge that’s what happens
1862: "We must preserve the Union"
2019: 11:36
"Let's enslave them!"
Wrong time
This is just absolutely hilarious! I loved the comments from the other players
*LETS ENSLAVE THEM!*
90 percent of what people say in that game is shit like that its glorious every simultaneously takes it very seriously and is rolplaying the heck outta the game while also meming and shooting the shit ill never enjoy any other gaming community more
The role play of everyone is really what made this fun.
Not hearing game sounds
Boom
( me almost jumping out of my chair)
Shit that guy just died
Live footage of what would happen if we raid Area 51...except they have guns and we are all flag bearers😂
DR. Vince literally 😂
They can only shoot most of us
Legit.
Y'all could arm yourselves as well. Js. Then you wouldn't be just flag bearers.
@@darknoirgaming7159 no the weapon in our arsenal is them flags and the secret technique THE NARUTO RUN!
Mark: "What is very important is that we need to take this seriously."
Me: *wheeze* Yeah sure, okay.
This video was the one that introduced me to War of Rights. After that, I joined a sweet regiment where I am still playing this. Thanks Markiplier for playing this.
Sweet man, are you still playing and if so which reg?
"Wait I'm by Soviet Wombat, is that the right flag-bearer?" Hm... Soviet... Womble?
SuperSci-fiFan glad I wasn’t the only one thinkin that!
dude same
I was thinking liru because they have someone called wombat
@@micahmurphy4546 what's liru
Nani?
War of right actually has historical groups, it makes the game so much cooler and better.
13:25 Wade said he was by Soviet Wombat? That sounds a lot like Soviet Womble. Is there a possibility they were some how playing together, or was it just someone with a similar name?
Possibly a person pretending to be him.
Yeah maybe a copycat but damn if it was womble we gotta tell him!
their team isn't as chaotic as it would have been if womble is in the team
@@aisterpendragon6694 if he was in the team...... let's just say thing would have gotten very interesting.
This kind of game does seem to be Womble's cup of tea. I hope we get to see it.
Union: *hears the rebel yell*
Also Union: “I’m in danger.”
Mark's battle cry is the best cry in the world 17:00
13:30 if everyone in the game was that disciplined and actually worked together, this game would be fucking awesome.
TXF most games that are in an open field will have this amount of discipline, it’s not a rare occurrence, quite common actually
This is why I sent the link to my reenactor friend. Would be good simulation practice until the next real life Civil War event where we have a day to just take part in a non historically won based battle.
Mark: "We need to take this very seriously!"
Wade: "Oh my food."
Mark & Bob: "god damn it!"
"That guy just died in front of me!"
My exact quote in Afghanistan.
