As a 16 year breast cancer survivor, I am so thankful that you did not walk away with the first diagnosis from your first doctor. I’m so glad that you pressed on the find out what was happening with your body.
I’ve seen too many young women lose their lives because their doctors didn’t listen to them when they said that something was wrong with them. Or the doctor didn’t even refer them to another doctor for further evaluation and treatment.
I could say so much more about this, but I won’t.
I’m just glad to hear that you are here to share your story. I hope that others will listen to you and take charge of their own health by paying attention to their body, seeking medical attention, and insisting on further investigation if they are not satisfied with what they are being told. There is nothing wrong with getting a second and third opinion.
May the Lord God bless and keep you and your husband is my prayer.
    Amen. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

      This.
I beat stage IIIc ovarian cancer because my doctor trusted me enough to know what I needed to live. If I hadn't insisted on surgery before chemo, I wouldn't be here right now.

How can doctors dismiss cancer for 10 years? This is just insane. I feel very sorry for her, but I'm glad, she is ok. now.

Her journey did start 10 years earlier, but she was having biopsies. So this certainly is unfortunate and complex. It was to her great credit that she went to a different doctor to get a new perspective and her doctor did make the decision for another biopsy rather than ablation. Chasity has had a hard journey. I am impressed with her resilience and attitude.

I also had endometrial cancer. Stage 1 B . They did a total hysterectomy and immediately followed with 6 rounds of chemo and internal radiation immediately after chemo. Internal radiation was not a fun ride for sure. I’m now cancer free and my 5th year anniversary is coming up in October.🙏🎉🙏🎉. I have to say, the chemo has left me with severe neuropathy in my feet. I’m unable to keep shoes on my feet for any length of time…it really sucks but in 5 yrs I’ve come a very long way and for the most part I feel wonderful. I’m so thankful that you kept up with your appts until they finally found the cancer. For me, I was through menopause. Had no symptoms until I stood up and started hemorrhaging. Sooooo scary.

First, I'm so glad you are cancer free and kicked its butt! Congratulations! I wish we'd hear more about the side effects of chemo, radiation, or even immunotherapy. I think patients tend to feel alone after the cancer is treated, but now they're dealing with long-term effects. Hopefully there is a group out there where cancer patients can speak about these things and doctors who listen and help ease these symptoms. I hope you remain cancer free for the rest is your life.

@@barbarameehan113 You are very brave. My husband went through Cancer Treatment for 3 years. The Cancer was very painful. He was on 32 different types of medicine before Hospice came in. He said he had enough. He passed from Multiple Myeloma in June of 2022. I am glad he chose his own path. It was painful to me to watch him deteriorate for 3 years, when his Cancer Doctor said he would go into remission, any time now, and NEVER DID. My husband was their Ginny pig.

Stage 1 is not a misdiagnosis. They caught it very early, thank god. It sounds like you had consistent great care for 10 years. They didn’t find anything, meaning the cancer was not there yet…. But symptoms were horrible,
i agree. Thank god procedures were constantly offered so that the cancer was found even before needing chemo or radiation. This was my case as well. The cancer never came back, because again, it was found very early.

I agree. This was not a misdiagnosis. Not sure why that title was chosen but symptoms of something wrong were present for that long which eventually turned into cancer.

Thank you for this video. I’m a bit surprised that you weren’t offered a hysterectomy after you continued to have abnormal bleeding, even though the biopsies came back benign. I get that you were only around forty at that time, and it’s far better to have ovaries for as long as possible. Still, I’m surprised. Btw, I’m a breast cancer survivor and had a laparoscopic hysterectomy done at age 51 because my fibroids were growing and I fear a uterine sarcoma. All was benign. Anyway, I’m so glad it was stage I, and I wish you and your husband many decades of happy and fulfilling years ahead.

Omg. You told my story down to all the details, except I did it suffer for ten years like you did, sadly. I was also afraid to lose my ovaries because my own internet research (🙄). My surgeon told me many of the same things too, that I would be up and around in two days- well, he meant that I would be ambulatory. I was so wiped out for such a long long time. The emotional after effects were terrible, like grief. I wish that I had perhaps kept one of the ovaries because we do need estrogen and after cancer you simply cannot have it. It’s necessary for many things, for lack of a medical word, lol. Brain health, heart health and bone health. I’m glad your back to it, thank you for sharing. I think you are the first woman I’ve encountered that had the same thing as I did, down to all the details. Be well. ❤❤❤

I have had the similar symptoms as you. I did have a biopsy, DNC, Ablation and now an IUD. I think I am a bit older than you, so an IUD didn’t scare me. However lately I have had some pain in or around my ovaries. I have not sought medical attention. I probably won’t. I have other issues, that I feel are Cancer and every time I go for a Test, it comes back negative, but I am still in pain and I feel like no one is taking me serious. So I am just done. I will just wait for my last day to come.
