Indeed, I was also quite angry... The worst thing is, that one month before this I was able to work on the battery something like 2 hours, and suddenly was dead. I was working a lot with power supply, so that was a big surprise when I wanted to work on the battery and PC does not want to start.
My Battery was defect from the beginning. Could only charge til about ~ 90% The battery lasts just 1.5 hours without gaming... Red led flashing sometimes but most of the time is red. No matter how long I charge. I've sent it to Asus. They said they couldn't find anything. Its all ok... So i've got my Asus back with still defective battery. Their workshop sucks.... Maybe my last asus notebook. :(
Thanks, good tutorial. Now I know why the fellas at the shop wanted so much to service the machine and stated it wasn't cost effective to change the battery... just plug it in. Seems like Asus has adopted Dell business ideology. Also, I've been told to ensure the replacement isn't aftermarket or it will most likely have issues.
Replacement looks like a pain, but it really is fairly straight forward. The vid makes it easy. My laptop is as good as new after. Thank you for the vid.
I really wish you would have just explained what you were doing instead of playing that anxiety inducing music 😭😭😭 I need to replace my battery but I am confident I will destroy my laptop. 😥
I have checked this before exchanging the battery, and this does not help me. Asus has always automatically found the battery because it is connected. I was thinking to take out the battery. But I don't know how will it be when you do something harder on it like playing a game. I haven't check if AC Power Supply will it provide the right amount of current but it should. The problem is when there, in the computer is a damaged battery and the power is provided to it, even if there is no need for it. But sounds good that is working for you. Good to know.
I have the same laptop and now it's switching off after 2 seconds. Even I change the settings it still sleeps. Guess I need to change battery. I'm gonna do it on my own but hoep I still find the battery online. Can I use the laptop without a battery instead? Great vid! Thanks
There were a caple comments about that, but I do not know. I bought the battery in my country, in Denmark, but I also saw genuine ASUS battery on eBay. Write "genuine ASUS battery ROG G751jy" in the searching bar, and the first one will be from the United Kingdom, and after that many from China and USA.
@@mort4862 thanks for the reply. May I know the screwdrivers you're using? Their measurements? I went to an Asus service center and they don't have stock for the battery as it is outdated model. So i may just remove the batter and use it as a desktop. Do you happen to know how to do that? Thanks for the help.

in my case there was not good enough, pc sometimes was turning off while I was playing or doing more heavy things, you need to observe how it is in yours case
My battery lasted over 3 years, most of the time it was on cable, i was really dissapointed when i found out how to change it... i did it my self, very slowly fallowing one of these type of videos and after about 2-3 hours i did it. But still very dissapointed by this design, in other laptops you can simply unplug the battery and put a new one in few seconds... I also was thinking about re-paste the Thermal paste because temps. are starting to going up to 85, it used to be below 80.... but when i saw video how to get to the Cooling parts... you literally have to disassemble the whole laptop to get there ;/
I have this model too and surprisingly this laptop’s weakness is the battery. My battery doesnt charge anymore i can only use it while plugged on the cable. Its so difficult to change it dam and iam still not sure if i wanna try this.
There is if I am right: - 12 screws holding the keyboard to the computer’s chassis - 1 screw holding DVD Room - 4 screws under the DVD room - 4 screws between Ram and HDD - 6 (3 on bow sides) screws holding the screen mount shields - 4 (2 on bow sides) screws holding the screen to the chassis of the machine - 2 screws holding the battery to the chassis totally 33 screws
Maybe you disconnect the screen connections to the motherboard. I have not touched this in my video, but this is on the right side of the battery connector when you look from a keyboard perspective
hahahahaha i cant believe that i have to dismantle my laptop to change a battery hahahahah why cound it not just have screws in the back just for that cover alone hahahah your fired lol
I guess so, but when my battery was defect (it was like without) laptop sometimes turned off by itself. In the beginning, it happened sometimes during playing game or something heavier, but over time it happened more and more often, which led to, that I decided to replace the battery.
MoRt i removed the battery already and it works perfectly now it saved some Money..the battery defecet every 6 months for me.. I have changed it twice already
It turned off by itself automatically precisely BECAUSE of the battery, though. From my research it sounds like when these batteries die they sometimes trigger a sleep cycle.

F*^king idiotic design for the battery.

Such an effort only to change a battery.
