@@comicbelief Thanks a ton man. Could you do the same for the videos of Spider-Man, Superman, Batman, Captain America, Fantastic 4, X-Men, Wolverine, Avengers and Justice League. I bought the likes of Wytches, Lazarus, Gotham Central, The Fade Out and The Man Who Laughs just based on your recommendations and was deeply satisfied. You literally are my comic book guide. Also if you could recommend 5 collected editions (TPBs or Oversized Hardcovers and not Omnibuses) for starting out with each of the aforementioned names. I'm looking for satisfying 6 to 12 issue runs per character. Even if it's DC Elseworlds or Marvel Alternate Universes. Like Kingdom Come was extremely satisfying for me and so was Mark Millar's 12 issue run of Marvel Knights : Spider-Man, Also Joss Whedon's X-men (although it was a little long). It doesn't need to be starting out with the characters origin. I just want a cohesive story or series of stories. Specially for Spider-Man, Batman, Avengers, Cap, Moon Knight, X-Men and Wolverine.
I'll try to do the same for every other post until the end of the week. The best thing you can do is to figure out the authors you enjoy, more than the characters. If you enjoyed Millar's Spider-Man, read his Ultimates. if you're enjoying Brubaker's works, Criminal is a must. This will lead you into some unexpected directions. For example, Whedon has his Buffy the Vampire Slayer comics. Some characters, like Moon Knight, don't have so much material to make a "100 Best" approach make sense, but I plan to start making shorter lists for these characters, as well as others that appear in different series. A Thanos reading order is in the works. Glad the videos are helping you. It's really good to hear that.
Starting out is a more complex matter than it seems. There's personal taste involved and storylines are rarely isolated. You want 5 tpbs for each one, each between 6-12 issues? You could read - Spider-Man: Death of Gwen Stacy (the edition including #96-98 and #121-122), the Origin of the Hobgoblin (2011 edition), Kraven's Last Hunt, Birth of Venom, and Spider-Man - Life Story - Superman: Man of Steel v1, by John Byrne (and keep going, if you enjoyed it) or Up, Up and Away Camelot Falls Superman and the Legion of Superheroes (the Geof Johns storyline) and Brainiac - Batman: Year One, The Dark Knight Returns The Long Halloween Court of Owls and Night of the Owls - Captain America: War and Remembrance, and the Brubaker era Winter Soldier Red Menace Civil War (the Captain America tie-ins) Death of Captain America - Fantastic 4: The Trial of Galactus - really anything by Byrne The New Fantastic Four Unthinkable Hereafter Fantastic Four - 1234 - X-Men: Proteus The Dark Phoenix Saga Days of Future Past (just two issues) Mutant Genesis (X-Men v2 #1-3) E Is For Extinction - Wolverine: Wolverine v1 (limited series in four issues) Weapon X Enemy of the State Agent of SHIELD Old Man Logan - Avengers: The Kree-Skrull War The Korvac Saga Under Siege Vision Quest Avengers Disassembled - Justice League: Year One, by Mark Waid Justice World's Greatest Super-Heroes (a collection of stories by Paul Dini and Alex Ross) Tower of Babel and Injustice - Gods Among Us - Year One That should be more than enough to get you going. I would add Marvels (for a modern take on the Stan Lee stories of the 60s) and Golden Age, by James Robinson (for a great story of the JSA). Hope you like them.
The iron-man stories from the 80s were awesome. Iron comics of the 2010s are terrible and treat Tony like crap, all because of Civil War (another awful story).
Could you do a top 10 in the description of this series as well? Thanks man.
Done. If you're looking for a place to start, both of David Michelinie's runs on the title (116-157 and 215-250) are highly recommended.

My personal favorite story is Hypervelocity by Adam Warren
That was an unforgivable oversight.

I admit I'm a fan of both eras. I like when characters - heroes or otherwise - are displayed with some shades of grey.
