The only part that he doesn't mention unless I missed it, is the effortless way Daryl sings and the poker face he gives while performing masterful feets with his vocal instrument. One of the greatest there ever will be. Vocally unmatched, without showing out or being in self. Love him forever.
Daryl Coley is the perfect example of how important placement is. He sings right into that mask so the air flows so freely. He can go everywhere his mind (the Spirit) takes him. GREAT commentary on ad libs.
Daryl also took on this song without knowing it. Donald was supposed to sing it himself but he lost his voice. He then ask Daryl to sing it the day before in rehearsals. So this was definitely a on the spot sing which let's him play around more. John P Kee, Paul Morton Sr, Daryl Coley and James Moore are my vocal favorites and the templates to my current singing style. ♥️
I can’t imagine Donald singing this song. I know Donald said he lost his voice on the Bible Stories VHS but I thought he was just talking about the song A Message For The Saints.
Donald talked about on his Instagram. Richard Odom (Donald’s friend & former Tri-City Singer director) was supposed to sing the song. He couldn’t make it to the concert at the last minute and he got Daryl who gladly accepted at the last minute and the rest is history. I think Richard would’ve done good because he has range like Daryl Coley but Daryl is in a league of his own 😂

I've listened to Daryl sing this so many times and your analysis has only added to my enjoyment of it and how it ministers to me. As any lay person like myself can tell, he was obviously brilliant and technically gifted as a singer but watching you break it down makes it even more amazing to appreciate. Thank you for your work!
Thank you for doing this song and thank you for your comments. It’s so good to see someone who not only understands the technical skill required to sing like this but also talk about the spirituality and the meaning of the song. Thank you for acknowledging the gospel music isn’t just about the technical skill but it’s about communicating and really preaching the meaning of the songs, gospel, senior sing. I actually knew Darrell Coley. He was my first pastor, and is single-handedly responsible for me coming back to church after I left the Catholic Church. He was also a very close friend of the family. I’m so happy to see him discussed and acclaimed for the incredible musician and minister that he was.
The whole Bible Stories album is a masterpiece. I was jamming it today with my little brother on the way back home from out of town. Just trying to keep the next generation hip to the greats!

I was waiting for you to review this! He still remains my favorite male Gospel vocalist. I just recently discovered this song 3 years ago, and it is mind blowing 🤯 what he did vocally with this song!
He is so goooooood.
Thank you for analyzing this! It is one of the greatest vocal performances ever in my opinion and hardly anyone has analyzed it on the web.
I’m glad you enjoyed!
@@jmlegrairstudio from a ninety yeàr old fan..keep up the fant!stic work
Love some Daryl Coley
This is my absolute favorite song he sings, no one compares
Yes. He’s my favorite singer. Also, I appreciate your anointing sir. I can tell this is also a form of ministry for you. 🔥
It truly is. 🙌🏾 Thank you! 🕊
One of my favorites
I've listened to Daryl sing this so many times and your analysis has only added to my enjoyment of it and how it ministers to me. As any lay person like myself can tell, he was obviously brilliant and technically gifted as a singer but watching you break it down makes it even more amazing to appreciate. Thank you for your work!
YES. He’s amazing and gifted! And thank you!
I love the album myself, had it on VHS then eventually got it on DVD
WORD!!!
This is my favorite by Pastor Coley. I had the blessed opportunity to hear him preach before he passed. I would have LOVED to hear him sing live. Whew!
His runs and riffs are phenomenal!
