Matt you inspired me to play after 12 years. I practiced putting and chipping for a month solid then played 9 holes concentrating on club selection where I avoided trouble. Shot 7 bogeys and 2 doubles in that 9 hole, payed relaxed ez golf. Believe me, when I quit 12 years ago I would have had a couple triples and one or two blow-up 8 or 9 holes. I'm back. Thanks so much!
I am 65, disabled retired Army veteran, and the game you just played is my game (how I approach it, not the score). I cannot hit it a mile. In fact, a decent drive for me is maybe 210 to 215. (using my 3W, no driver, I do not get along with the driver but hit my 3W pretty decently and a good shot pattern.) I have low profile woods down to 11W. My irons are wide soled, same for the wedges. Chipping and putting is where I have to be good so that is where most of my practice time goes. Right now, I am carrying a 14 handicap.
ei! I've beaten the bots!! Thanks for the videos Matty. I've been working hard to put into practice your strats and I have broken 100 twice now with one of them I've broken 95 all because of your videos. Thank you very much!
I broke 100 for the first time with a ...93.... it took me all summer was right at between 100 and 110 having too many mental lapses. Course managment was something I never thought about before just swinging and praying. I found a good coach that dialed in my swing, and I found this channel. Those 2 combined set me up for success. Next season I will break 90 and maybe 80.
Mattie -- can't thank you enough for this video. I'm around 210-220 off the tee, so I'm constantly hitting 3W/3H/4H to get to the greens, and have to do a lot of chipping. It's all about accurate irons and a killer short game, and this video just proves it again (as if the world needed more proof)
There are times when I will take only a six or seven iron and a putter for a fun 9 holes of golf. Makes you get creative with shot making, and it makes you think about landing areas to avoid the bad stuff. Great video.
Love these Matty. One thing I think would be great for new golfers like myself, would be a video where you mimic the realistic shots that we have. For example, I might drive 150-200 yards, but my subsequent iron shot might only be a 7i max 130y, as I’m not confidential with anything longer. These videos are great, but realistically no high handicapper or beginner that only has a 175y tee shot is going to be able to cream the 4i 170 yards on every approach shot afterwards
Even tho I’m yet to break 100 having only started regularly playing, as someone who for 20yr only ever took 5i off the tee this video is tremendously inspiring haha
Played a practice round today with irons, wedges and putter only. Finally cracked the irons by not looking at ball but three inches in front, keeping both hands more connected at top of swing and making sure to straighten lead leg just before impact. Get these right and I hit really nice shots. Feels like I may have turned a corner with golf but won’t know until tomorrow when I can eliminate it being a fluke.
He plays very early while the tourists are still in the hotel eating breakfast. Plus out of town doesn't get many visitors. It's rather nice to do. Here even if you get to the first tee at 7am you will be behind a 4 ball.
My goal in 2024 was to break 90 on a championship course (slope rating 135). 4 Hybrid off the tee, shoot to the landing area, toe down chipping, GIOTG. Who knew, 88!! Won the comp, dropped my handicap and delighted my day.
Love the videos! Could you do one where your driver is 200 yards and every other club is proportionate. 190 three wood, 180 five wood, 170 four iron, etc...
after watching this, I feel like, i really should leave my Driver in the back. mostly i got bad score 70% of bad driver, bad position . which kind a agree all the way using iron. that i confident with my iron also. thanks Matt, this is a great course management skill
Mattie boom boom - you’ve reinspired my father and myself to play. Can you put the club you’re hitting with the hole/par/etc.? Especially for when you do the toe down / heel up chipping.
I don’t know why I feel so pressured to hit driver, knowing I can’t control it. When I’ve modified this method, and allowed myself use of 3 wood which I can hit pretty well most days, I’ve scored my absolute best. I will leave driver at home next time I play so as to not be tempted to swing it, even on the largest runway of fairways. I will consider leaving 3 wood as well, since I’m consistently pretty good with 4 iron or 7 wood off the tee. Trying to break into the 80’s is my goal
Isn't it strange how you can play a short shaft, more loft, more backspin and never get in the merde? Make a nice score, no lost balls, no OB, no stress and your mates will never understand how you did it. That is sneaky golf.
Every time I try to play like this...I get it out there in the fairway and now only 170 from the tee box, I end up flubbing or chunking that 2nd shot. Then I'm wishing I had hit driver or FW wood off the tee....
Only the feeling of slope in my feet about half the holes. I was just fitting my fingers into the read i already had so the finger measuring doesnt work for me cos i can read the greens. Sometimes i like to gauge how much slope i can feel in my body especially if there is a double break Inside 6 feet i use a formula like i show in my putting videos recently just using a memorized line
The third hole is 390 yards and the drive left 190 to the hole. That's a 200 yard drive. The second shot was pin high, so a 190 yard shot. So I'm not seeing how this is getting around the course hitting the ball 175 yards.
Caddie is hype 😂🔥⛳️
she won't be as hype when she discovers that she's going home empty handed. #nobirdienotip
No birdie no tip 😂
SWEET,...SAFE SAFE SAFE 😂😂😂😂
SAFE SAFE SAFE
They are compulsory in Thailand and l find most of them useless

Most enthusiastic caddie ever 😄
No birdie no tip 😂
Old Skool Jams provided by the Baus, pure heaven..Takes me back to being a new playa..That 9 o'clock swing for wedges is money..
It's nice to see how simple golf can be. I've recently adopted a similar strategy to this and I'm finally breaking 90.
Its a pure place of happiness, great job..
That caddie is charisma

playa I have been beaten by guys who hit it 210-220 off the tee plenty of times! Even when i bomb it 100 yards past them. Believe!
Wow I love seeing these types of rounds. Should be motivation for all of us to spend serious time practicing our chipping. Thanks for the video playa.
Love it! ...and hey, I ordered 4 of your shirts a couple weeks ago. They are awesome! I had many people ask where I got em...so I told em.
Great round Matty, nice course lovely sunset…
Thanks Matty Boom Boom, find your videos very chilaxing!
Winning a course with the sun. Playing speed golf. All ball in play. Putting in fire. Impressive playa ! Chapeau !

Just when I think the videos cant be more legendary
I love these videos. They show me what’s possible if I never miss hit a shot. Unfortunately, realistically, I miss hit a lot of shots 😅
I do appreciate the old music from back in the days. Wadda round!
I love your caddy!! Never thought I'd say this, but she has more personality than you! LOL
Caddie is a vibe
Well played Mattyboy, a valuable lesson to us small dogs.
The Caddy is awesome! I need her with me on my 3 rounds a week I play.
OMG Your caddie is awesome! What fun! ..like the new music
Love The Caddy
Perfect striking. Love your tempo!

This is not meant to realistically mimic a high handicap. It just interested me to see how good you can get if you hit it 175
Even tho I’m yet to break 100 having only started regularly playing, as someone who for 20yr only ever took 5i off the tee this video is tremendously inspiring haha
Amazing! You made it look easy-pasy!!!!
Love the Caddie!

Too many swing thoughts at once
@@pattyson Agreed. In short time it will reduce when some aspects become automatic.
Are the golf courses in Thailand not very busy? I never see very many other players in your vids
I always thought that.
A lot of golf course in the vids are in the countryside province. If it is a golf course in Bangkok area sometimes there is no tee time for you.
He plays very early while the tourists are still in the hotel eating breakfast. Plus out of town doesn't get many visitors. It's rather nice to do. Here even if you get to the first tee at 7am you will be behind a 4 ball.
i play midweek upcountry
very dead
bangkok and other large centers very busy
BANGER VID
Finally figured out how I can be a better golfer. Get a hype man caddie that cheers for me
My goal in 2024 was to break 90 on a championship course (slope rating 135).

Yes playa! This is the way it is done.
Very simple golf
Back to basics
BOOM
The caddies on this channel are elite. LOL
Love the videos! Could you do one where your driver is 200 yards and every other club is proportionate. 190 three wood, 180 five wood, 170 four iron, etc...
Just did it in the latest video
Good caddie, good tip!
iron game is money.. also had that caddie working hard at the end lol
#9 hole jam was nice
after watching this, I feel like, i really should leave my Driver in the back. mostly i got bad score 70% of bad driver, bad position .
which kind a agree all the way using iron. that i confident with my iron also.
thanks Matt, this is a great course management skill
Matty! You are so awesome. Thank you for your videos! Question, what’s your 175 iron you are using off the tee?
She made you cough laugh! Nomsayin?!
Mattie boom boom - you’ve reinspired my father and myself to play.
Can you put the club you’re hitting with the hole/par/etc.? Especially for when you do the toe down / heel up chipping.
I need caddy with this enthusiasm
I swear I need a caddie like that 😂
I’d be interested in your club selection too.
Great boom boom Matty, what club are you hitting 175 with?
Boom Boom has a new cheerleader mom! Hire that one! lol
Any plans to make a bucket hat that matches the 3 different kinds of puzzle golf shirts you sell at waddaplaya.
You are a player Na wah I’m Saain?
Golf course marshals have been real quiet since this dropped. 1:45 pace of play.

How’s the condition at Rancho? I’m heading to Khao Yai next week for some golf
Love your cheerleader!
Great SHHAAARRRRTTT
Hey Matty Boom Boom - how do I get your caddies over to the US??
awesome. just a single 3 putt!
Matty, I've wondered - do the courses you play on require you to have a caddie? Whats the damage every time you play ?? 💸💸💸
yes
in thailand its mandatory
green fee caddie cart: $50-$140
caddie tip: $20
i just hit 84 a personal best
Isn't it strange how you can play a short shaft, more loft, more backspin and never get in the merde? Make a nice score, no lost balls, no OB, no stress and your mates will never understand how you did it. That is sneaky golf.
What are the most beautiful golf courses in Thailand? I’ve been in Hua Hin before, but would like to explore more
Top 100 courses website
do you use stiff shafts?
MATTY; WHAT CLUBS DID YOU USE FOR THIS ROUND? GREAT JOB BY THE WAY !!
no more than an 8 iron
are you using sensors on your clubs?
lets go caddie...
Every time I try to play like this...I get it out there in the fairway and now only 170 from the tee box, I end up flubbing or chunking that 2nd shot. Then I'm wishing I had hit driver or FW wood off the tee....
Matti, what is your 175 yd club? Thanks. Love your videos.
depends on the day
6 iron 7 iron 8 iron 9 iron
Nice paaaahhhhhh
Matt are you using aim point as part of your green readings?
Only the feeling of slope in my feet about half the holes.

What iron you use for 175 yards?
PW
@GolfSidekick mind blowing. I'd use 6i.
The title for this one could have been "How to Break 75 In 17 Minutes or Less at The Speed of Light."
That caddie though... What was the tip?
quadruple the thai standard tip playa
I'm sure Rick Shiels is watching under a burner account
he doesnt even hide himself anymore
Wadacaddie
Only 4 soy lattes this week 😂😂
yeah but it was filmed on a Monday
If i could hit a 200 yard 6 iron (Like Matt) I would be scratch.
Takes a lot more than that playa
Have you been watching righteous gemstones? Come on now!
Never heard of it playa. Is it any good
how to break 75 hitting 175 yards or less: be absolutely money within 50 yards
I'm in Thailand and my caddie never say nice shot. I wonder why? 555
Maybe you're too hand sum
@@GolfSidekick Oh...she say that to get a bigger tip? Me kind a handsome and the ladies say I'm a sexy man.
TWILIGHT GO;LF GREAT TILL A POP UP BROWN WATER SPRINKLER CATCH U IN FACE, ASU TEE IT UP🤮
The third hole is 390 yards and the drive left 190 to the hole. That's a 200 yard drive. The second shot was pin high, so a 190 yard shot. So I'm not seeing how this is getting around the course hitting the ball 175 yards.
He did state his drive went 182 on that hole, but his second shot wasn't pin high. Pin was 190, left a shot that was 19 yards away, so about 171.
Top 10 dumbest comment I’ve ever read.
