3kg copper mahseer broke my line at rani khola. Tight drag woes. Fishing in Sikkim

In the first one,the fish ran upstream so it was fine. It still managed to pull drag, and was constantly trying to dive down to the rocks. Finally it tires and comes in front of me. Thats when i realize i am in trouble. The fish suddenly starts using the current to its advantage. Rapids and huge jagged boulders downstream, just not possible to run with the fish. I had to palm the spool, which ended in the fish breaking the line.
The second one was also due to tight drag. Here i was intentionally playing a tight drag because there was baited rods on my left side. I feel the fish must have been hooked on the upper lip(thin membrane, so hooks come off easily). It got off when it turned right at the bank.

Yes it was. There is no place to run downstream, so the only option is to take out the fish right there.

Yes it was. It took me by surprise. I had just fished the pool below for a couple of hours and got just small ones, so wasn't really expecting this in that small section. It jumped 3 times. Unfortunately I needed to check if the GoPro was filming 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Yes that's the Daiwa rod. It's a good light and cheap rod. The second clip is from the main river. Teesta.
