Seeing Mono crouch down with his hands on his head as the reality of what happened to him being true... I could feel my heart breaking. Mono didn't deserve this, not after everything he's done to keep them alive...

Even though his face wasn’t animated, you could really feel the sorrow he was feeling.
Aside from the lady, He's the most normal looking "monster" I've seen in the Little nightmares universe, without including the teacher too because of her long freaking neck
I also kind of think the geisha too from the last game. Since she also kind of looks normal just with the mask.

@@femylin considering he grew from a child to a grown man with no food or water I don’t think that’s the cause of his looks, if that was the case he would have most likely died of dehydration a long time ago. He has most likely either grew really old or depression hit him harder then a brick.
Edit: sorry misread, I thought you meant he looked like that because he went malnourished. But yeah he definitely looks malnourished.

He is pretty handsome for the first few but on the last two he just completely goes from young man to old man. He is pretty good looking considering all of the other people look like huge sagging blobs of flesh.
On a second note, Mono is grown into a fine looking man albeit seemed so depressed and sad.
Mono is the only monster that looks normal wtf.
From this video, now I know how a normal adult looks like in this universe. The children are reaaaaally small and the adult is just so tall 😂

So at the start he's still somewhat hopeful, but as the years pass he grows to be filled with hatred
You could pretty much say, that the hate and wanting to get revenge were the only things that kept him alive for so long. If wasn't for that, he would have killed himself (as anybody in that situation would most likely do)
I'm gonna add a part of my Theory/headcannon: he puts on the hat when he acknowledges that six actually betrayed him

He turned Six into a monster but that is better for Six because she will be just right if the music box is around with her. @@toau408 i like to think that it's the tower that turned six into a monster, i think the tower is an antagonist that uses mono's powers (the thin man) to do its bidding at consuming life sources and as a result disfiguring people. Thin man (mono) only aimed to stop the betrayal from happening.
Can we appreciate that the devs spent time detailing these one time use models down to the creases in mono's coat even though it's so dark you won't be able to see it.

Random fact: In the concept art there were originally going to be television monitors on a wall behind Mono that first come out distorted but slowly form properly as he got older.
I have the concept art as well, I wonder what that meant, I thought it was implying he was the one who made/created the monitors, but I am not sure.
Do you have any theories of what could that meant?
@@paperbagboi3185 Well, that question ain't addressed to me, but yes it does imply that Mono created the monitors and used these monitors and created the transmission, also it shows The Signal Tower construction which may show him being the one who made it, people say The Eye Creature is the one in control, when in fact Mono created its existence accidentally, how? The Thin Man aka Mono used the monitors he supposedly created and then made the transmission which absorbed people's essence as shown in the concept art it created a goo of meat which then formed into The Eye Creature, The creature had the urge to kill Mono as well. The Thin Man aka Mono isn't trapped in that room, which is confirmed by the glitched children around the city and the woods and Episode 2 of the digital LN2 comics. The concept art also shows Mono/The Thin Man interrogating a child while sitting and talking to the child, possibly Mono asking the child if they saw a girl that fits the description he gave. To add, The Thin Man was extremely persistent to complete his goal which also matches Mono's personality who never gives up further proving they're the same, which even the studio confirmed they are the same and said The Signal Tower was created for the purpose of the transmission, so it kinda goes around with Mono creating the tower and being the one behind everything, which also to add the kid we see sitting on a chair may be The Thin Man when he was a child or the former Mono.

I find very interesting that it shows how the faces get sucked (and how the meat are indeed the viewers getting sucked into the Tv) and how it also kind of shows that the thin man is a sort of detective figure interrogating the children

Since Mono doesnt look so similar when he became a thin man, I'm pretty sure Six dropped him because her soul got separated from her body, and as seen in little nightmares 2, theyre usually the bodies that are attacking, and Six hasnt felt any hunger throughout the game until he escaped on her own and saw her own figure. The six figure was the one that started helping mono after Six herself was taken. So im sure that's Six's soul who loves Mono and wouldve wanted to pull him up as Six's body was just being uncontrollably a monster

Mono didnt deserve this. He was so friendly and risked his life several times for Six. He sat there for years on end, nothing to do except contemplate how he would stop this from happening again. Imagine sitting in the same room for years, doing nothing but heartbroken. Mono lives matter
I knew Six was a monster since Little nightmares but her betraying Mono just shows how much of a monster she is and the hunger she feels is a punishment well deserved.

I think the Signal Tower is able to rapidly distort your whole body and face if you get long enough exposure of it. I mean just look at what the Tower made to Six, pure monstrosity! Not even a day passed when The Thin Man took her away from Mono but she's already that distorted.
Oddly, his face is relatively normal. I think this ties back into just how powerful he is compared to everyone else. Normal people quickly mutate into monsters under its direct influence, while those exposed to its signal via TVs are steadily consumed, and indirect exposure through its signal will cause mutations over time.
Mono, by contrast sits in its heart and merely ages steadily, which is a testament to just how innately powerful he is. Six, by contrast is an ordinary mortal, at least for now.

My personal theory is that Mono is simply too powerful to be affected. That it was all the tower could do to simply cage him in that room.
About the part where Six being distorted in just a day. We all know that time is broken in the Pale City so the same effect could be a lot stronger in the tower (even space itself is broken in the tower) so Six could been trapped there for far longer or shorter than a day but that is just my thoughts.

Mono just sits. Waiting. Biding his time til' the day where he can actually tell his younger self to break the cycle. A man, faced with many regrets and betrayal, decides it's time to help free himself from it.
In a way, he's trapped in his own mind, forced to decide whether or not he should stay, or to actually attempt to break the time paradox.
In other words, I like him.
Every single attempt will always fail. Once it happens it is set in stone forever.
Which makes it even more sad. He knows he will fail every. single. time. But he has to unwillingly abide by the rules of time, he has to meet his demise at the hands of his younger, more powerful self.

O shi I thought he's around 40 years old there. Dude looks like a fricking 80 year old. That makes it more depressing. But now that you think about it. The Signal tower NEEDS mono to keep the monstrous events operating. Thin man being that old means he will die of age. So they need a new host. Or maybe... A younger one

@@StickFinger-xq8lv It can also be a metaphor that his powers are draining and he can't operate the signal tower anymore due to the lack of enough power and life force. That's the reason why Mono can easily kill his other self. The signal tower is in a different dimention anyways where time and gravity doesn't exist, so it's easy to lure the fresh and younger mono in the past
Thin Man Mono will always be weaker then Young Mono since he's old and dying and Six took some of his powers in order to escape through the portal

The game makes a big deal about Mono throwing away his bag near the finale. And at the end of the signal tower, this is the first time Six sees him without the bag; her mind is not being warped by her transformation and Mono is not hidden by any shadows when Six is holding on to him. Mono and Thin Man have one physical similarity. With this video, we can see that Mono has almost entirely black eyes. And in the LN2 art book, there’s an image of Mono growing up to be Thin Man. Mono’s eyes are black in all the drawings where he has no bag. This is unique to him and the Thin Man. Even Six and the lady have some faded pupils in their character models, but Mono's and Thin Man's eyes look like a creepy void. And if she didn't recognize him from his face, maybe she recognizes him through the fact that she's seen Mono use his powers to interact with the TV similar to the Thin Man. Either way, if she realized that Mono was a potential threat for any reason, it's definitely in character for her to drop him. She may no longer see him as a friend but as a threat in disguise. She is purely a survivor.
Actually, if you look up his official model (with good lighting) he has normal eyes (normal as in you can see the whites of his eyes) they look black because of the game's lighting (such as this one, we're looking at his model in-game, that's why his eyes are black). All the children are drawn with those black lifeless eyes in the concept arts even from way back in the first game, it's probably just a design choice by the artists.

I know what you mean. His sclera is visible in the game files. However, it’s nearly impossible to see in the actual game. Even in direct lighting, his eyes seem mostly black. I think the developers did a few things to make Mono look different. They made his pupils unusually big. Obviously that will give his eyes a lot of black space. And it’s also possible that they turned down the reflectivity of his eyes. This way, even if light hit his sclera in the game, his eyes would still look incredibly dark. It’s something that’s noticeable only in the video game rendering. So in the game, it would look as if his eyes were entirely black. But in the game files, his model used standard eyes with a darker shader on them; this darker shader made his eyes look darker than they really are in the game rendering. His eyes definitely become even darker as he grows into Thin Man. And we also see that he’s the only character drawn with black eyes in the official art book. While the other kids have small eyes, you can usually see the white from a farther distance than Mono’s. Perhaps It’s a simple stylistic choice. While his model is normal, they designed it in a way where it wouldn’t look normal while the game is playing. Which is a cool way to make Mono seem unique.
@@renemartinez3451 I looked up the models again from both the first and second game, and it seems that all the children have the same shading in their eyes as Mono's (though I agree with Mono having bigger pupils than the others) and if you take a look at Six's model in-game with the free camera mod (especially when she's still in her greyish blue coat, so you can see her face better) her eyes look pitch black too, so it's safe to say that it's just the game lighting messing with their eyes.
You could also look at the first game's DLC concept art where there are 5 children (some of them are reused for the second game) they all have pitch black eyes, the same with the second game's concept art where the comic children are shown, they all have black eyes too. So yeah, I think for the concept arts, it's just a design choice, and for the actual in game stuff, it's just the lighting (I love your idea of Mono having unique eyes though)
Their eyes aren't black tho, it's just the lighting...but mono's eyes a bit more darkened than the other children for some reason
Was viewing the models actually and while all the kids gave those shaded eyes, Mono's do seem darker and look less like a normal eye that's shaded and more like his eyes are actually black. When he's sitting in the chair those, his eyes are actually blue and gave color.

Mono's fate is heartbreaking. He is one of the only characters in the game I'm honestly truly sorry for. He got betrayed and had to sit alone for years,see himyelf become the person he was trying to defeat all along and he couldn't do anything agains it

@@geradosolusyon511 Actually, it's more than likely that it took merely a few weeks or months. Six's transformation in the tower progressed until fruition in the time that took Mono to reach the Signal Tower. But it's also possible that time works differently in the Tower
@@thereisen2776 I think that due to how powerful Mono is, The Signal Tower cannot affect him as potent as everyone else in this universe. He was just in there for decades, since we can hear a clock ticking sound effect, which tells us in a literary way that time is really going on by, and unlike everyone else he just grows up to look like an old man. Even then many believe The Thin Man/Mono is trapped inside The Tower, but this isn't the case since The Thin Man is responsible for the Glitched Remains that are from The Woods to The Hospital, we also see drawings of him in The Woods, as if he's stalking and just drawings of him in general, but with no face, and in the digital comics episode 2, The Thin Man climbs out of a TV and captures a child.
Some theorize Mono/The Thin Man as the ability to travel in time to the past and future. The Flesh Walls or The Eye Monster as most people call it, is actually just the manifestation of the essence absorbed from The Viewers of this world, as shown by the concept art, which I've heard was cut because of the rating. We see that The Thin Man emits The Transmission wherever he goes, he slows down time without effort, he can warp-reality to a degree, move entire buildings with his presence and even shape them to his comfort. The concept art also showed The Signal Tower constructing as Mono gets older and older, showing he's got something to do with The Tower being there, it also showed a bunch of TV's behind him as well and as he gets older he starts getting unhinged and starts getting insane, many believe it's due to The Signal Tower, but this is isn't true considering Mono became this way because of the horrible tragedy of getting betrayed by Six, with nobody there to comfort him, the pain changed him into the person that would corrupt the world and hurt many.

@@simpostor6576 Good point BUT look it from my perspective. Thin Man had no reasons to capture other kids, he's been locked up until Mono came, after that his sole purpose was to save Mono.
If he was a kid killer, he would've killed six right away or caught mono easily, but he didn't. Why? My guess is because he never held a grudge against six. And he didn't want to hurt mono, he wanted to stop mono.
You can tell because he always walked when chasing him and always grabbed him.

And what makes me think he didn't turn those kids into shadows was because he wasn't there, not just because he was locked up, it's because there weren't Tv's there. So if he WAS free, he's still not able to get where a TV isn't, which is where the shadow kids can be at.

Since the Signal Tower and the Transmission is able to distort and turn people into monsters, you can really see how it changes Mono, his jacket transforms into a suit, his arms and legs become longer, and since Mono is recognisable for wearing a hat or mask over his head, it makes sense for the transmission to give him a hat, it's trying to recreate the semblance of the kid he once was, but failing to do so, only turning him into what he feared the most. The man behind the door.
