    you should talk on the podcast more about how duop reath is being held back by chauncey (commenting for algorithm purposes)

    The league runs through Joe Cronin. Made the trade that sparked the new CBA so small markets like Portland have a better chance. Trades with Boston to put them over the top for a championship, trades Lillard to potentially NBA Cup winner. And it all started with a little Blevins 10-day contract.

    I always liked Norman Powell's game.
    Was underrated since his days in Toronto, and usually played in teams that had a stacked backcourt.

    DA would actually be a good candidate for the Pelicans and the Hawks. We're not getting picks back, but we could get expiring money and/or good players back. And I think that's worth it

  • @robertomaldonado2723

    I'm not sure Portland gets a lot of trades done. The players contracts probably outweigh their value unless the asking price makes it worth it. I think they hold onto their guys until the contracts are closer to expiring.

  • @maormeltzer4969
    @maormeltzer4969 Месяц назад

    Another one for the algorithm - the contracts of DA and Ant are actually very tradable.
    Ending in next season. A lot of teams would love a $30M~ written off their books next summer, so I don't think it will be that much of an issue to find buyers.
    The question is - what do you get in return?
    The likely answer - not much, and you probably have to take some longer contracts, otherwise the other team wouldn't want to pull the trigger.

    They waited to long, waited for value to plummet on vets and for CBA to change. Thats their MO so far wait for value to decrease then wait a little linger then pull trigger.

    It seems to me, it wouldn't be terrible to just let Ayton run out his contract with the Blazers. I believe he is in is second to last year. In the meantime, the Blazers are obviously going nowhere remotely close to a challenging for any championship, yet they need a roster with at least a few veterans.

    i am all in on the tank. I am not impressed at all with the lack of discipline the Blazers play with. They sometimes look like a Y ball team with turnovers, lazy passes, Terrible inbound plays. Those reflect the coach mostly. Not sure CB is the best coach for a young squad. I like CB just not seeing much coaching evolution, then again this team is so young. I still really enjoy watching the kids grow and I hope CB can get an assistant like Bill Musselman. CB needs help. I hope to see some trades soon. I feel ANT/Ayton/ need to go and we need to let Clingan and Scoot figure it out. Sadly I think Grant and Timelord will be what gets traded. Not sure where Ant fits in and dont see us getting much back. JG was born in Portland. I refuse to eat our young :)

      He is VERY hesitant to adopt the "addition by subtraction" philosophy. Sometimes, getting rid of a player wins you the trade without much coming back in return.

    incentives are so distorted nowadays in the NBA. teams trying to lose, the all-star is an insult to audiences, the trading has become a more interesting game than what actually happens on court. the NBA needs some serious reforming.
    how about making the all-star mean something by having the winning conference get home court advantage in the NBA final? how about turning the CBA into a lower league, like they have in Europe, where the last team in the NBA goes down to the CBA, and the winner of the CBA moves up to the NBA? would teams still try to tank then?

    • @scottwickett1273
      @scottwickett1273 Месяц назад

      No, that's dumb: the all-star game is and always has been a meaningless exhibition.
      And promotion/relegation is a non-starter because the existing teams would not want to lose tons of money.
