He is a libality, if the other team try to attack vs him because he is the weakest defender, it mean he is libality, he can give us 30 pts a night, which is awesome, he will just be another bradley beal, good with numbers, bad with wins.
@ He's not remotely as terrible defensively as Trae Young, CJ or Ant, but he's still not good on that end at all, nor consistent. Like a slightly improved Ant basically, just with much more of a attack the rim/slashing oriented offense.
Most excellent pod Mike! Yes, they absolutely have to make a/some trades. They also had to last offseason. As Cronin has waited way too long, he will get much less than if they made those trades last offseason. If Cronin is unable to trade any of Simon, Grant, Ayton this deadline, I will not consume any Blazers content for the remainder of the year. And there are plenty of others like me.
Right there with you, the Blazers should have done something last summer. And the trade deadline before that. And the summer before that. The fact we are STILL on the topic of "they need to trade the vets" is hilarious level of bad. And we are about to watch Cronin, once again, sit on his hands and not do anything. Oh the excuses will come out left and right about him not doing anything, by the usual local media suspects (we all know who they are). But those excuses are not valid. Cronin has had now YEARS to make the beyond obvious trades happen, and he simply hasn't and likely won't.
You do such a good job that i end up watching locked on nba to end up wondering why the hell am i watchint locked on nba talk about the lakers celtics and bulls.
First round picks are restricted free agents coming off their first contract. It’s not really free agency. He can’t just move on. If Sharpe gets to free agency next summer the market will determine his contract and the Blazers will have the right to match or not (they’re likely to match nearly any deal he’s offered)
If he gets less than 25m, it arguably means that the team is admitting that they've failed to draft a single star post-Dame. Most believe that he has the highest ceiling. I agree with you, but if that happens, Cronin and Billups should be sent to the employment line of the classifieds (they should already be there but here we are)
@@LockedOnBlazers This. If they don't match, the FO is saying, "we haven't drafted a star post-Dame," because he is the highest ceiling. They have to match imo
Two Jerami Grant Trades: To Milwaukee for Khris Middleton and a 2nd round pick. To Minnesota for Julius Randle and the Pistons 1st round pick they got in the KAT trade.
Clay Bennett from OKC is the owner of my nightmares. There’s no world where OKC is a better market than Seattle for basketball, but Ritchie Rich does what he likes. Portland doesn’t have too many local gazillionaires, and the NBA like all the leagues forbids public ownership.
Shae I feel like will get himself a 4yr/$60M-80M extension, or contract with a different team in free agency. As for new ownership, the right kind of owner is somewhere between a Paul Allen and a Matt Ishbia in terms of spending, investment and ambition. So basically Steve Ballmer. Someone who is passionate, dedicated, learns relatively quick, knows how to treat everyone equally between the staff, league, players, brands and fans, knows business, money, and is willing to spend rather ambitiously, but not with reckless abandon like Matt Ishbia does, nor is as much of a same old, same old, no changes in philosophy, and penny pinching like Paul Allen always did.
Not that easy. It would have to be approved by the NBA and owners. Portland also makes alot of ticket sales regardless on good or bad seasons. Higher than most teams in the league.
In three seasons, Shaedon's 3PT dropped from 36% to 31%, while Vassell improved from 35% to 39% Assist/TO ratio 1.4 against 2.4, and Vassell is also way better defender
Grant and DA have such bad contracts.....we'll be lucky to get a decent bench player and a 2nd. Ant is the guy that has value. Trade him for a 1st and a vet, start scoot and sharpe
I can see Sharpe getting between 25 and 30 million a season. The nightmare senerio is him hitting RFA and a rebuilding team sees Sharpe as a potential cornerstone...and does a Ayton and offers him 35-40 million a year. Unlikely? Yes. Possible? Also yes.
@@modax0 Sharpe is 4 years younger than poole and has shown star potential. 30M is probably too high due to him being a RFA anyway, but low to mid 20s is not outlandish for a guy of his potential
I can see that too. There were 5 guys drafted in the top 20 last year that were Shaedon's current age on draft day. This year 5 guys in the first round that are his age or older on draft day. He has three years to get to Toumani's age, to improve, and we still hope for growth from Tou at 24. Shaedon is not peak Shaedon for another 7 years. That's a lot of potential growth.
