LOL at the discussion at 1:26 or so. Just so you know, Garrett, elevators are the safest form of transportation on the planet. There is no other device capable of moving people that is anywhere near as safe as an elevator. Mythbusters did an episode where they tried to test the stupid myth that if you were in a free-falling elevator, you would be ok if you jumped right before you hit the ground. They found an old building that had been abandoned. They got their dummy into the elevator in this ancient building. Then they cut the elevator cable all the way through. The elevator didn't fall. Even way back then, they had redundant safety features built in; for example, if the elevator begins to move downward at a higher than expected rate, a brake system engages automatically so the elevator can't fall. Long story short is that it took a crew of people with professional training and power tools the better part of a day to disable all the protective mechanisms so they could get the old elevator in a long-abandoned building to fall. You can take 'dying in a free-falling elevator' off your list of fears.
