  • Almería is a port city on the Mediterranean coast of southern Spain. With over 320 sunny days per year on average it is also of the sunniest places in Europe.
There is also the Alcazaba - a 10th-century Moorish fortress overlooking the city though relatively few tourists come to Almeria which makes it a relaxed destination in sunny Spain.
We start our tour in this Andalusian city at the Almería Cathedral from the 1500s. We walk around the city centre on this afternoon. The streets rather quiet at first during siesta as we make it to the Plaza de la Constitución. From there we walk North to the Church of San Sebastian and then East to the Calle Belén - a green walkway down to the sea.
Along our way through the city we check out the (closed) Almería Central Market and also have time to see St. Peter's Square in more residential areas.
As we return to the Rambla - Calle Belén - we see the "Fuente de los 102 Municipios" - a fountain representing 102 towns in the Andalucia province. We walk a bit further west and end this tour at the Fuente de los Delfines.
To continue from the sea to the Alcazaba please see this walk: • Walking in ALMERIA / S...

Fantástico el vídeo en cuanto a realización y contenido. Muy natural reflejando la realidad y la belleza de Almería. Sinceramente y siendo almeriense, me he sentido identificado. En más de una ocasión he disfrutado haciendo un recorrido similar. En hora buena a los realizadores y promotores. Un privilegio vivir en esta capital del sur de Europa. Saludos....

There was no fountain there in the 80s and 90s. There was a dried-up river, which was used as a car park in summer. I found the river was covered by a pedestrian walkway, with fountains and trees on a visit back in 2005. (My grandparents lived on the corner of calle Javier Sanz and calle Valero Rivera).

Yeah... u know i have some story to tell you... One day i meet a rly beautiful girl in my country (Lithuania). Soo ask her if she wants to hang with me somewhere, and she said yes ehy not, first seconds of meeting i dont understand what she's talking and i ask her u re not from here ?and yeah she said she's live in spain since she was 3 y.o She came from Spain Almeria to Lithuania visit her grandparrents she broke up with her bf and she want to forget that pain... and yeah we see each other almost everyday. I rly like her but i like her more like a friend not a girlfriend, i rly enjoy being with her spending time with her, talking and long long long walks in nature and after two months of meeting with her, i feel happy with her and shes feell the same with me, one day we sitting on the a little mountain and talk about anything and i feel something on my hand and she touch me, i feel important i cant explain that feeling, she start to tell that im cute, good person, that i understand her, that i help her forget the ex bf, and she's rly enjoy being with me, But idk on that moment i just want to be with her friends. Idk why... and next day we meet eachother on the same "mountain" like always we talk we joking we talk about anything and after that shee start looking at me with her cute eyes i look into her too and she came closer she hugg me and she kiss me idunno i was exscited... I kiss her too and she tells me that after two weeks she need to move back to Almeria and she ask me that i go with her because she wants that i being with her but i refuse this because i said sorry but i dont know spanish i need to finish the school, what my parrents thinks of that and yeah i start to like her too very much-more than a friend. She said me that she can help me with language, i live with her and i can finish the school in spain but idk i still refuse that. After a kiss and talk i escort her to the bus station i hold her hand and i kiss her for the last time......And after that day she text me where are u ??? And i didint answer to her... she call me but didint answer... idk i know that i like her and she likes me and i know that fact thst she still going back to spain it hurts a little bit soo i choice to just leave from her life and dont hurt her anymore. And yeah sorry for my bad english, i do the biggest mistake in my life today im 22 on that time i was 17 and shes too 17 y.o after that these years i think of her almost everyday i feel bad and depressed but i know its too late shes have a bf in Spain i have a gf too but i dont feel happy with her. Who knows maybe that girl from spain is my love of the life idk... just if u read this i want to know that im sorry i was young and dumb... Should i ve move with u but yeah its too late and i want to tell u i think about u almost everyday. Btw srr for my english.

Thanks for sharing this story. I personally can only add that I have lived in several countries far away from home - also in relationships - though never more than a year or two years. You can be happy that you felt a connection with someone and you can cherish that memory...and time heals... Still, your own education and development comes first so staying in school surely was the right thing to do.
As for moving abroad for a relationship: Family and the whole culture you grew up with is something that stays with you. The home away can't give you the childhood memories or friends so sometimes people move back - even after many years abroad.
Staying in contact with old friends when they like and answer a message is still a good idea. Emails even just once a year are still nice - even when you're on different paths at some point. A "Happy Birthday" or "Merry Christmas" is always good to receive.. and who knows what the future brings.. make the best of it.
