  • The old port city of Gdańsk (German: Danzig) is one of the most beautiful cities in Poland and part of the Tri-City area with Gdynia and Sopot.
We start the walk at the Golden Gate (Złota Brama) and walk down to the Town Hall and Neptun fountain. Then we cross over to the Wyspa Spichrzów - one of the island here and walk back to Old Town along the Philharmonic Hall on Ołowianka.
Some side streets and the churches we have time even for short stroll through the market hall.
Note: the microphone battery went out in end, so it's just the Osmo Pocket sound for the final 5 minutes.
    Filmed in March 2019
    Camera: Osmo Pocket in 4K60
    Mic: Zoom H1

The City of Freedom where WWII started and the Solidarity Movement that had led to the fall of communism was born. Turned into a pile of smoking ruins during WWII (85% of buildings were destroyed) painstakingly rebuilt now is shining more than ever. Definitely one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. It's a must for every tourist visiting Poland!

Thank you! Always interesting to hear some more background as it's surely interesting to the people watching this walk. Many years ago I also walked around the Gdansk shipyard where Solidarność started. Lots of history in Gdansk for sure.

      Thank you.
I was born in Gdansk, then emigrated as a little kid when comunists were weakening, but still in power.
Gdansk will always be my city and I am proud of it and how’s raising from so much battering.

Interesting. I wasn't aware of that concentration camp. Though I walked around in Auschwitz for hours once and that left an impression...
In general I seem to have visited most Polish cities. Just Olsztyn, Zakopane and maybe Elblag and Jelenia Goria remain. I've been to several places without filming, yet am open to recommendations for notable places for these walk-throughs

Try to learn some REAL history, not German and fascist legends, dude.
Gdańsk is very old Polish city, in fact it happened to belong to Germany for pretty short time in XIXc. - only by brutal conquest as a result of Partitions of Poland (and only to 1918, BTW).

      Danzig Deutsche Geschichte LEBT...
Was sagt Ihr Hausarzt zu Ihrer Krankheit?
