Thank you for your videos💚They always inspire me and bring me a lot of joy.😊 Your plants look super beautiful and I really like your plant collection🌱. I wish you a wonderful Christmas season and best wishes from Germany 🤗
Thank you so much! That’s such a kind thing to say and it makes me so happy that I’m able to share plant happiness with everyone!!! I hope you & yours have a wonderful upcoming holiday season as well!! 🎄
I spent a lot of the weekend bringing in plants that live on my covered back patio in warm weather. Finding space for everything in my house or small greenhouse and treating them for pests to try to avoid spreading anything definitely cures me of wanting new plants for a while! 😂 Some things just got left outside to deal with a few nights of 39° lows. So far, they are carrying on.
Good grief I know you’re over it right now! 😆 I have a few I bring in but the others are just going to have to fend for themselves and possible get replaced next year 😌
I love orchids for you!!! The way I try to find ancestry of Phals. I look at orchids by Hausermann or orchid classics for you. They both carry a lot of Phals and usually between this big orchid nurseries I can find one that’s looks similar and is named. They usually have this years popular ones. Then look up the name on line at orchid roots and it will show the breeding history. The good thing about orchids is they grow way slower and won’t outgrow your space like pretty much every other plant :)
Oh my gosh thank you so much!!!! I’m going to check them out later to see what I can find! I love that they’re slower growing so I won’t have to worry about moving them around every couple of months like my tropical houseplants 🥲😄
@ I’m sure you will find stuff. 😂 when you start looking at those orchid nurseries it’s easy to find lots of stuff….. they also for the most part don’t need repotting and all that stuff as often. But hot damn we need all this foliage to so off the flowers 🌺. In some ways I wish I was the type of person that was more narrowly focused on one kind of plant.
I have revolving interest where I go crazy with one genus then take an interest in another genus and go crazy with that one and now I have over 300 plants and have already ordered more orchids I’m going to have to ground myself for a while 😅
I'm in GA also (Macon) and I typically order plants year round. It gets hectic when the weather wants to act up though and that's hot or cold😅😅😅 but things typically turn out okay. I'm not sure if you've seen, heard or have one already but you need a Phalaenopsis BRONZE MAIDEN. It's a GORGEOUS silver leaf orchid. Hands down best foliage orchid I've seen😍😍😍😍
Wowwww I just looked it up it’s so silver and gorgeous!! I’ve also had pretty good luck with shipping from within the US unless we’re having something crazy going on, we’ll see how it goes with importing 😅😅
I feel your pain Les! I started with orchids. I have 3 phals blooming now and they are taking up a lot of real estate!!! If you haven’t already- girl stay away from Palmstreet. I swore I would not buy anymore plants this month. I just got 2 new Hoyas, a peperomia hope, and a pink ghost Polly and an alocasia azlanii (still waiting for last 2 to deliver). I went on palm street Saturday morning and did a lot of damage. My family will be so pissed when the see that box! The shipping alone was insane- you know had to upgrade. I wish I had a plant friend here- we could share plants so maybe I wouldn’t feel the need to personally have so many!
I am staying far away from Palmstreet for the foreseeable future because the last thing I need is another outlet to buy plants!!! Unfortunately I feel like we all (plant people) are the worst to enable each other because we mean it when we say “you DO need that plant!” 😆
Hoya and Orchids make up most of my plant collection I used to have about 250 orchids and then in 2012 we moved and I had to downsize and now I have about 120 orchids as far as Hoya I have no idea I’d have to count lol I would want more. I have a large wish list for hoya but I live in Missouri and it gets cold so I’m not sure about shipping in the winter time and I see some really good sales right now too oh my to ship or not to ship in the winter
Fortunately here in GA it’s jussstttt getting into the 20/30s at night. I’ve had an ok time with shipping with heat packs but It can be a little hit or miss, after these orders come in probably going to hold off until it starts warming up again. I strongly believe my love of Hoya has carried over into orchids because they scratch the same itch 😆 Love the thick weird foliage and beautifully diverse blooms!! I’m going to have to chill though until we have more space 😅
We don’t have a publix in Wisconsin.. we have Copps, and I’ve never seen any philodendron. How’s the job going? You recently went back? What side of Georgia? You have such a strong southern accent, but I love it!! 😂❤
Publix has had some crazy stuff! I recently started a new job after taking some time off- it’s been great!! I’m in northwest GA- born and raised so I know the accent isn’t going anywhere 😆😆
When I first heard her, she reminded me a lot of my relatives in NE Alabama, so I thought she was there or perhaps North GA. I was pleased to find out I was right! I grew up in NW FL with a much more subtle Southern accent, so my extended family mocked my “Yankee” accent.
