Damn these Mario Kart Wii tracks are incredible! Honestly, it's hard to choose a favourite here, since pretty much all of the ones in the video are outstanding. Custom tracks have certainly come a long way in terms of both presentation and general design quality?
Global Warmingway is such a banger. It looks very good, seems to be fun to drive, has a nice theme and an incredible idea/mechanic that is very rarely seen and is brilliantly executed. The CT this batch were kinda low quality compared to the others you present (a lot seems unfinished or just not great). I'll remember Global Warmingway, Rocky Rocky Loop, Bullet Bill Bluff, Painted Swamp Circuit, Jungle Fortress and Ruinated Peach's Castle. The Arctic Line has a nice idea of driving on a moving train but is not perfect visually with that big black thing in the sky, the rainbow road all over the place and feeling like they don't belong here. I approve the idea but the execution could have been better.
Nice list, MP55! My favorites are Bullet Bill Bluff, Jungle Fortress, Ruinated Peach's Castle; and Global Warmingway gets extra points because of the genius wordplay you put in the title, and the gimmick of the ice melting, changing up the course's layout AS you race on it, is so cool (No pun intended)! 😉
I was thinking about that recently as well! I'm really hoping for a "Track Creator" feature just like in Mario Maker. I would love to make some videos every week showcasing the community tracks! It'll be a lot of fun
Quite literally went to the comments section to say this exact thing, if nintendo were to get in touch with established mk mapmakers in the modding scene to make new tracks for the game, and then post release have a track builder or something where every month or two nintendo would hand pick four tracks to flesh out and make official, it would basically become a game that makes itself, it’d be awesome and an absolute legendary move on nintendo’s part. Too bad it’s extremely unlikely
Global Warmingway is the first track since Incendia Castle to make use of Volcano Parts to change the route of a track on each lap, it's long overdue and so happy that someone decided to use this creativity once more!
There have been tracks between those two to use that mechanic. Blissful Block comes to mind since it's my favourite CT. It's extremely cool still though.
All of them are really cool but my favorite is a five way tie between sketchbook noir bullet bill bluff luda's. Ct factory ant artic ambush and globe warmingway
The DK pass for what it'd worth imo doesn't look great, mainly just feels like a texture hack to make it look like wario dam and looks a little lifeless :/
