Great content. Although the form has changed it is still very helpful.
I have one question, at 10:33 is this about only mine savings or mine plus my partners savings? Or maybe he will need to fill it by himself?

Hello, love the videos and how straightforward you have made it all look. I am about to apply as I have gone onto sick leave and my employer only pays the minimum SSP which won't cover my rent, let alone council tax or things like food! My hours vary month to month though I can normally get by, hence not claiming before, and I was wondering how the system copes with changes to circumstances, such as someone going sick or on varying hours or zero hour contracts... Might be an idea for a future video? 🤔

Hiya! How did you get on with your application? We've heard that varying hours can cause some headaches, has this affected you since applying for Universal Credit? You're absolutely right, it is a topic that is worth discussing at some point so we'll keep this in mind :) Take care and stay safe.

@@CareBlair I didn't apply in the end. It worried me that it was only a temporary issue (being off sick,) and that it might cause issues. I thought it better to muddle through on a credit card than have any issues with payments/non-payment and especially over payments!

Thank you very much for this informative video. I tried to complete the universal credit application but they are asking to create a Government Gateway Id. I could not complete the process. You showed to create postoffice documents verify. Please let me know what is wrong with my application?

Hiya Sharif! Let's have another shot. Follow this link - www.gov.uk/universal-credit/how-to-claim
You should see a big green 'Apply Now' button, click that and follow the steps to create your account.
This should fix your issue my friend :)

You can also pick that you want to verify offline. So then you do the verifaction at the jobcentre

    Completely mind blowing
We are moving to a new area where we can no longer claim housing benefit so we have to apply for this credit. In the video you mentioned about council tax how much we pay etc. How do we get around that when we have not yet moved in and don't know what we pay etc. My wife is disabled and on DLA and ESA, we are told that the ESA will stop - The very sorse that we rely on to pay our other bills . She needs a driver's license or a passport for I'd. She has neither.

Why when we applied, were we never told we'd have to repay it a year later? Over the last few months we have been crucified as the DWP helped themselves to my pension and my partners salary. I've sent a number of letters for an explanation but they are ignored.

When applying whilst on maternity leave and it asks for hours worked - is it the hours you used to work or the hours you currently work? It doesn’t state and I don’t want to fill it out wrong :/

Sharing what you currently work on the application will put you in the best position to receive assistance based on your current circumstances. Hope that helps.

Trust me you don't want to say you're a couple, my friend found this out the hard way. Just say you're housemates (as long as you have a 2 bedroom house to make it look believable), you'll get a lot more money over all trust me 🙃😅
