Written about the US led war in Iraq. Similar to much of Reality, this piece was written in the midst of the 9/11 attacks, along with other things leading up to war in Iraq. “It came about from reading an article on Kellogg Brown & Root, a subsidiary of Halliburton, the company that Dick Cheney used to run. Basically, Kellogg Brown & Root got the job of cleaning up Iraq. What tends to happen is that a thing like an issue or a policy manifests itself as a guide. It becomes a character of some kind, like the one in ‘Fall Dogs’ [sic]. There’s this guy saying, “I’m goddamn rich.” [laughs] You know, “Throw anything you like at me, baby, because I’m goddamn rich. It doesn’t bother me.” It’s an ugly song sung by an ugly man. So it was definitely about corporate and military power.”
After 'Outside' and 'Heathen'..... worst album since 'Never Let Me Down'. Not a single stand out. Thankfully he came back with Next Day and Blackstar (his best album with the restored 3 outtakes)
This is a great track isn't it?!
Yep, but do you know a bad one of the Master? Even pinups album which are ripoffs (tribute to the songs) are better then the originals
"ripoff" is not a good choice of a word. @@deerhunter9107

How strange you think this. I believe it's one of his many best.
I do agree about Never Let Me Down, though.
Bruh almost every single track in this one is a stand out
Wow! This album is bowie at his finest. Definitely a jewel. With heathen, hours, next day and blackstar my favourite bowie. Reality is outstanding
Wrong.
