First thing I noticed was the hair physics, definitely one of the nicer looking 3D indie games and it actually looks fun. Aight, the teleporting cop had me laughting for a solid minute :v
Dang it looks really good! It's gonna be crazy once it gets mod support, I feel like this is the first Pokémon-like game that actually looks fun and matches that energy but I also like how it's not even just a Pokémon knockoff, it's doing its own thing.
@TheCaliMack seems like it may be both? They said there is hosted servers ans supposed to he up to 32 players but there's also co op up to 4 ppl so not sure how that works exactly.
In your world you can have up to 3 others, and there will be dedicated servers for up to 32 players. For now though your character is tied to a world. If you go anywhere else you wouldn't bring anything
I dont think i have ever been more hyped AFTER an embargo lifts before. normally when an embargo lifts prior to a game release my hype either slows down or remains the same. this is the first time i have gotten MORE excited. i can see why they lifted embargo almost 4 days early.... they have something here and they know it. i cant wait ;-;
Here is an idea for content since you said you wanted to know, how about a base location guide for launch day? like finding out what locations are the most efficient for the starting area so players can start off with a strong base and dont have to move early. centralized near the best resource spots and whatnot.

Been playing since the Morning it dropped. This game swallows your life. Like man there's just so much content. Like scroll down the Technology list, you literally have a No Man's Sky moment except it is real.

Man.... This game looks incredible. Can't wait to be able to afford the dang thing and get right into it. I love playing Craftopia with my GF, and I'm a huge Monster Collector fan (Pokemon, Cassette Beasts, Temtem, Monster Hunter Stories) This just looks like it's going to hit every box I could ever want for a game.

This feels like a 3d pokemon world. It is an amazing 2d pixel game that's free. I highly recommend and since I love that I think I will love Palworld too! Looks amazing!!!
Yo are your character's progression cross server? Cause the grind won't be that bad if you can keep your level going to a friends server. (To give that dynamic duo a more fun experience) :P
While I appreciate the review, I think you did amazing! tho I have to say, I dont know HOW anyone would see the trailers and think this game WASNT a survival game, seemed pretty obvious from the first trailer.
The thing is- that first trailer dropped so many years ago and the footage they've put out since always shows the assault rifle (which is literally unlockable once you reach max level), and what could be considered 'end game' gameplay. Have they shown any trailer without a gun? Genuinely curious. As we waited for the game, that first trailer slowly got lost in our minds (at least mine), and it's like my impressions got overwritten with what I kept seeing. I'm anticipating how the world will react to this game come the 19th for this very reason

It shows the farming, base building, action, back to farming, back to base building, etc. I see your point, tho it's not really that weird that the Assault rifle is very end game yet shown so often, that's no different then Ark or Rust or even Minecraft, they'll always show to cool end game to hook people to what's possible. Even the Palworld trailer from 3 months ago even shows off Survival elements, Even stating it pretty obviously "Base building & Crafting" at the 35 second mark. Going back a bit more, the Summer Game Fest Trailer, Shows a giant farm of creatures cooking, generating Electricity, and farming. I genuinely dont mean to sound rude but i think a VERY small group of people will be shocked to see it being a survival game. Especially given how similar it is to Ark wich is incredibly popular now.
It may be a small group. What I'd say is I'm in the Digimon, semi-pokemon realm when it comes to my community, and all you hear is "Pokemon with Guns". It's natural, though. This game gained immense hype from its Pokemon-like concept- and that's the large audience it attracted, completely unrelated to the survival genre (I'm talking about myself here too). That was my reasoning as to why I started with it - essentially addressing it for my audience (who I know was not fully in tune with the games mechanics) It's one of those situations where the survival community probably knows what's going on, but the new community the game attracted may be blindsided. But you haven't said a single lie. I definitely wasn't paying as close attention - I lost focus of the trailer when they started blasting. I forgot everything else 😂

Survival Isnt inherently bad too, Imo it's one of the genre's that holds the longest retention span imo. Plus since this will get official modding shortly after launch, that will increase it even more! Basically what i'm saying is, to anyone else who's on the fence about it being Survival, still keep this game on the radar. Modding can drastically give the game multiple ways to play, with the dev's themselves excited about the possibilities due to the game being on UE5
