I owned a Jazz II machine, sewed tons of things with it, even mounted it to a quilting frame and used it as a long arm machine. I LOVED my Jazz II Machine! I recently bought an actual long arm machine, so I sold my Jazz II, but only because of a space issue! I had tension issues at first, when FMQ with it, but just briefly. It's trial and error, really! I hope you love your new BABY, Jean..and sew and quilt tons of things with it! If you purchase the extension table, It even comes with the holes and pin to make those wonderful circles you made in a video, a few years ago! Congrats on your new BABY!
She’s so pretty!!! 😍 isn’t it nice to have a big strong son to help you out? So nice to see Maxwell this morning ❤❤❤ I call Ethan “my Giant” because he’s so tall and strong.
Yes I have a Babylock for 2 years now and love it no problems until recently with the foot pedal but my son was able to fix it. Just bought a Sewstable ext table and ready to start quilting and not just piecing.
Maxwell is correct in saying don’t trust that handle! My sewing repair guy said always pick your machine up like Maxwell did, gripping it under the upper part of the machine! Great work Maxwell!
Congrats! I’m looking for a new machine. I’ve had mine Viking for over 22 years. Although it has never given me a problem I’d like a few bells and whistles, a blanket stitch for one. 😊
Hi Jean! I've been thinking about buying the Jazz II for all the reasons you mentioned! I have a Kenmore and a Juki TL2010. I love the juki! But I would like a few more stitches than my old Kenmore has (12). And I don't want a computerized machine. Can't wait to see how you like the Jazz. Thanks for sharing! Hope Ian continues good recovery. ❤🥰
Great job unboxing. You did great and handled that machine with care. You're a wonderful man. Jean absolutely love the machine. You could be a really bad influence. Love and prayers to all your family especially Ian and Maxwell and of course you Jean who cares for all so lovingly.
Love my Babylock Brilliant, great machine. i t was $999, 1/2 off deal. Great investment for a quilter. Watching from North Pole, Alaska. Blessing to you and your family. 💌
I have a Jazz II and love/hate it... IT is VERY temperamental with a walking foot and the tensions are tricky but once you get it dialed in its great! I did get the extension table and it was worth it. the FB page for the Jazz II is very helpful if you run into issues.
Oh that's such a nice large throat space I can see why you would get it !!! I was looking at Maxwell as he was leaving and he was smiling he is such a nice looking man.
Congrats on new machine. I myself got a new Janome memory craft 9840. Absolutely love love it. I have made 4 quilt tops (hate making a quilt sandwich). Love sewing.
Congratulations on the new machine! I got bit by the Bernina bug LOL!! I did buy used so I'm telling myself I saved🤣🤣🤣🤣 It does have an embroidery module which none of my Juki's do. But that's just another rabbit hole.... Anyway enjoy the Jazz. Also glad to see Ian doing well🙏🙏
Congratulations on your Jazz II I almost bought 1 a few years ago for the throat but it was 2 big for my table. I ended up with a Brother BQ 2450 almost the same as Baby Lock Aria. Enjoy If anyone deserves a machine it is you!! 🤗❤️
Hi Jean, I just finished watching your video on unboxing your new Babylock Jazz 2 machine, I have one also, I got it last year, I haven't used it much since I am new in quilting, still learning, I will continue to watch your videos, keep up the good work.
Have a Jazz. Not a 2. It's good. Owned it for about 5 years. Would have bought a 2 had i known but did get new for $600. Bought it to learn free motion quilting. Yes, some tension issues at 1st.
@@michellem8284 I have this machine and can recommend it to anyone. I have several machines, mechanical and computerized, but this one has the widest range of use. Sturdy, simple and that throat space is to die for!
I love my Jazz II. The throat size is fantastic! I just need to find time to quilt, I still need to finish my block of the month sampler quilt you did a few years ago. It is on my list for this winter.😁
Sure is a nice looking machine. Wish the throat size on my Janome Memory Craft 6600 was that large its only 9 inches. Lovely machine am sure you will like - after all that is what Jenny Doane sews on. 😊
Hi Jean & Maxwell! So good to see his cute face 🥰🥰 Wow, for $800 you got a heck of a deal!!! I've had a Baby Lock Ellure since '12!!! "Big Bertha" because she's quite heavy. She's still going strong. We have a shop just a few blocks from our house that sells Baby Lock machines. I don't want another "embroidery" machine, but they have one with built-in alphabet fonts (don't remember the name-I think Allegro). That's what I want. Can't wait to see you use yours.
Jean I have to tell you, I first bought a Brother Quilting sewing machine machine with a 9 “ throat space that I really liked once you thread it properly. My only issue I had to wanted to do ruler work and this machine it wasn’t possible. I bought a Jamone 13” throat space and absolutely love it. Both machines had extension tables, but my wonderful husband made me tables for both where my machines down into the table. One was made from a computer desk and the other was an unused countertop. Between Ian and your sons I’m sure they could do the same for you. Then the end results you have a wonderful work surface. Thanks for sharing and enjoy your new toys. 👍❤️😊
Pat Sloan loves her Baby Lock Jazz II (I think she has the II). Congrats on your new machine. I cannot consider a Baby Lock because I opt for a more quiet machine, and the Baby Locks I've experienced are not quiet.
Yes, I have a Jazz II. I’ve had it for about 4 years, and use it constantly! LOVE it. I have it set up for FMQ and use my smaller Babylock Jubilant for piecing. I know you will enjoy it, once you get the hang of it. And, I’ve never read the book. But…the dealer did show me a few key things to be aware of. If you ever need help, I’d be glad to be of assistance. Well enjoy watching you become accustomed to your new machine! Congratulations! Kathy
You can cut the extension table to fit my husband cut a sew steady extension Table down to fit my machine. Ask Ian. ❤ the new machine. I just bought a Babylock embroidery machine on fb Market Place $1000. Haven’t had time to play with it yet.
Maxwell did a great job unboxing, was quite careful. I am anxious to learn what you think as I have been wanting a new machine with a larger throat and not 100s of stitches. I am still sewing on my 1980s Kenmore (a gift from my mom when I turned 21). Please give us a demo of how easy it is to thread (I have some arthritis issues) and the Jazz II wonderful qualities as well as any not great qualities. I really do appreciate you taking us along on your adventure with a new machine.
LOL I feel the same about the knee lifter on the JUKI. Maxwell is right. Get the right table for the Jazz II. After a week retreat with people who were struggling with Bernina machines, I was relieved that you bought a Babylock. The Jazz II is indeed the right tool for the job. I can’t wait to see how you like it. Congratulations on the new member of your sewing team!
Congratulations on your new machine! It's so shiny! The last "new" machine I brought is 75 years old! It's a Singer Featherweight. I took it into my local Sewing machine repair shop. He went through and cleaned it up really nice and made sure it was freshly oiled and adjusted properly. It Hums! I'm in love with it! I really like your new Jazz II. I would buy one except now with my new/old machine, that brings my count up to six machines! My new home (temporary of course) has no place for even one small machine comfortably. So good to see Maxwell!!!
Yes, I have a Jazz II. I also bought it for throat size. I didn’t much need the exceptional speed it offers. I didn’t really have tension issues, but rather stitch irregularities. I’m very careful with pressing seam allowances correctly, but too many seam allowances meeting are not always flat and when I stitched in the ditch the needle moved thus stitching would not be straight. Also, I never did get the needle threader to work. I did read the book excessively but like many manuals, it left much unaddressed. I had no support from quilt shop seller. I suspect you will figure it out better with all your experience. I’m now thrilled because I just bought a Janome Memory Craft 9450 and love it. Yes, more expensive but I really wanted a quality machine that I could do my own quilting and progress to free motion quilting. I’ve owned a 60’s Kenmore, an Elna Swiss made, an Elna (Janome made) embroidery machine, a Singer, and two Baby Lock machines. Of all, Janome has always worked best for me. I thought I wanted a Bernina but found it to be excessively overpriced for a no longer gainfully employed gal. I’m sure hoping you love your new Jazz II. Congratulations and enjoy. I’m impressed with all the feet you got… that was an exceptional promotion.
Congratulations🎉🎉 on your new Jazz 2! I very recently got a Bernina to add to my machine collection. I have several Babylocks, Brothers, and Jukis...lol. Enjoy!, and happy stitching!
Enjoy your new machine,Jean, I love that large throat space it gives you. I believe for the price point this machine was manufactured by Brother. Enjoy ❤
I laughed so hard at the unboxing! Showed it to my differently abled son who helped me with MY unboxing. He did not find it humerous at all and scowled! LOL Agree 100% that this is a GINORMOUS machine compared to all my others and the handle should NOT be trusted! Admittedly I have a "collection" of machines, mechanical and computerized, all serving their best. Due to "family and life" my box sat unopened for a few months. I love that it is such a simple machine. I have been able to play with it and I think we will get along just fine. Read and follow the manual and you will be just fine. Like you, I grew up with mechanical machines so this feels very comfortable to me.. Have fun! Happy to see Maxwell and glad Ian is doing much better. Love from a Minnesota, USA great-grandma. ♥
I have the babylock allegro. It has a 12” ( I think) throat space and many stitches. Supposedly I can program it to sew words. You’ve inspired me to figure out how. You actually were the first to inspire me to machine quilt. Thank you so much for all your engaging content. ❤
I bet Ian or one of your talented sons could make an extension table to fit that machine. I've been looking at that machine & still considering it! Thanks for sharing 😊
No but I’m interested. I have been doing my quilting on Singer featherweight which was my grandmas. It would be nice to have a new one and use my featherweight as my backup.
Congratulations on your new machine. I hope you enjoy sewing on it for many projects. No I don't have a Jazz 11-I am a Janome girl. You have such a great helper in Maxwell as he did such a wonderful job in opening the box so carefully.
Hi Maxwell, you look great!!! Congratulations Jean! All my Baby locks thread the same and I don't have a problem, just have to get use to it. I am so tempted but I have a Baby lock Esante, 6-needle and a Disney Innovis. I don't need one more, but I would LOVE this machine, it would make a great addition to my "collection".
I’m interested in how well you like the Jazz II. When I was looking at new machines, I let the negative comments to avoid the Jazz II, but I really liked the looks and size of it. The price is really good.
Hi Jean, I do have a Jazz II. I love the wide throat but I do often have tension issues. I sometimes have problems with stitch size uniformity. I admit it’s mostly me. I don’t use it as often as I should to get comfortable with it….. so when I do use it for machine quilting I have to reacquaint myself with it. I’m happy with it when it’s working the way I want it to and again, the wide throat makes it worth dealing with the occasional issues. Have fun with yours. I look forward to seeing you sewing on it. I doubt you will have any problems since you are used to better quality machines. I also purchased the extension table which is so worth it! Happy Sewing!!
Wow nice, I have heard jazz II is better than one, I own janome 12000 and costly, has few issues but learning to work with it, If I was to buy again, I would do babylock I think Also own +1 husqvarna that does embroidery and I will sell it as sits, friend did wedding quilt on it I love my wide space, I think you will love the room you have on new one ❤❤❤
I have this machine and use it daily. Feel free to reach out if you have any problems along the way. Maxwell is right about the handle. It doesn’t match the weight of the machine.
I was checking out the Bernina until I discovered it was $20,000! I'm still on my first machine it's a brother XR 9520 or 9250 anyway it's awesome for beginner like me and it was only about $300 last year. Thank you for your videos really enjoy you and your family
Congratulations! 🎊 Getting a new machine is so exciting!!!🎉 Yay! I don’t hv a jazz, but I do hv a Sashiko, which does a running stitch that looks hand done! 😁
I’m not familiar with Jazz2 but I’m sure you’ve done your research and will soon have the hang of it. Thank you Maxwell for doing the heavy lifting. Love to the Trueloves.
Had it. Sold it. Wasn't crazy about it. However, Baby Lock, any machine, is SO easy to use. Very user friendly, I think. I have a BL serger that I love. Just like Juki better. I got a Juki with more stitches for the times when they are needed. Good luck with yours!
I owned a Jazz II machine, sewed tons of things with it, even mounted it to a quilting frame and used it as a long arm machine. I LOVED my Jazz II Machine! How did you turn into a longarm? I bought a 10 foot Babylock frame second hand for 500. Now what?
It is wonderful to see you are feeling better. Hope you can do a whole bunch with your new machine. So happy for you. GOD BLESS
I love my jazz II! I love the space, speed and ease since it’s mechnical.
I'm loving it so far!! It is proving to be quite a workhorse:)
I just bought 1 back in March and I absolutely love it for quilting my quilts. I use my antique 1927 singer 66-6 to sew on a regular basis lol.
She’s so pretty!!! 😍 isn’t it nice to have a big strong son to help you out? So nice to see Maxwell this morning ❤❤❤ I call Ethan “my Giant” because he’s so tall and strong.

Love you Tara:)

No, I don't have this machine, but I do have a Bernina and a Babylock Lyric. I sew more on my Bernina. Hope you enjoy your new machine.

It was great to see the new machine. My backup machine is a very old (maybe 20 years) small Baby Lock. Good machine. The Jazz looks very nice.
I love you 💕 and your 👦
I love the way that he involves with you and sharing your happiness with your new sewing machine.
New subscriber ❤
I love you and Maxwell’s relationship. Reminds me of me and my son Braxton. Lol. ❤❤❤ great job helping mom out Maxwell! 😂
Congratulations! Baby lock machines are fantastic!
Wow that throat space looks awesome 🎉

I'm finding that! It's a bit loud, but I still like it. I've done a more complete review of it. I've just put up the video:)
I love my Jazz 2. For quilting you use forty or fifty weight thread and a large needle. Before I learned this I was pulling my hair out!!
Envious of that throat size. Maxwell sure is a great helper.

I found some you tube videos on learning the machine!!
What an awesome price for that! Congratulations

No but I’m interested. I have been doing my quilting on Singer featherweight which was my grandmas. It would be nice to have a new one and use my featherweight as my backup.
You two are quite the comedy act! I’ve been waffling about buying that machine for about two years, really interested to see what you think of it.
Congratulations on your new machine. I hope you enjoy sewing on it for many projects. No I don't have a Jazz 11-I am a Janome girl. You have such a great helper in Maxwell as he did such a wonderful job in opening the box so carefully.
I can't wait to hear your thoughts.
Congratulations on your new machine, Jean! You and Maxwell are a hoot!
Can’t wait to see you use it! Don’t forget the Walking Foot! lol.
I’m interested in how well you like the Jazz II. When I was looking at new machines, I let the negative comments to avoid the Jazz II, but I really liked the looks and size of it. The price is really good.
Pretty. Like the throat size. I have a Brother Lumi2 which I use the embroidery to do edge to edge. Enjoy! Tracy from Oregon
No, but all of my machines are Baby Lock machines. I really like them.
I got my quilting setup from Moores in California and they were wonderful to deal with…
Congratulations on your new addition to your family! That extra throat space is invaluable.

I doubt you will have any problems since you are used to better quality machines. I also purchased the extension table which is so worth it! Happy Sewing!!
Hi Jean,it's always fun to have a new toy 😊 & yes,if all fails, it does help to read the instruction book !! 😅 🇭🇲🦜🦘
That machine is great value..... happy sewing. I like mechanical machines too.
Good luck with the new machine! I got a Juki 2 yrs ago & was looking at the baby lock. I need something for more stitches still
You make me laugh! “That’s a really nice box” and I’m here trying to peek around Maxwell to see the machine😂
Wow nice, I have heard jazz II is better than one, I own janome 12000 and costly, has few issues but learning to work with it, If I was to buy again, I would do babylock I think
Also own +1 husqvarna that does embroidery and I will sell it as sits, friend did wedding quilt on it

Good lord!😂
I purchased one in the spring. I love it.🎉
Had it. Sold it. Wasn't crazy about it. However, Baby Lock, any machine, is SO easy to use. Very user friendly, I think. I have a BL serger that I love. Just like Juki better. I got a Juki with more stitches for the times when they are needed. Good luck with yours!
How exciting I love a new machine enjoy ❤
I love baby lock! I have the crescendo. I'm sure you will love your jazz 2.
Agree spend the the $
Nice machine and Maxwell is so helpful ❤❤
Another one!! You have so many machines!!!
I just purchased a Presto2 Baby Lock. 2nd baby lock purchase. I think you’ll love it! They come with manuals? Haha
