man people dont appreciate claymore animations enough, claymores for me are one fo the most satisfying weapons to use because of how much weight exudes from their animation, and seeing how the animators conveys weights through different characters is one of my favorite things to look for in game animations.
I appreciate the feel of them and they convey their weight very well but in terms of animations they're nothing too fancy for my liking. In a game where people are flipping around in the air like Sayu my personal bar goes up where I'd rather things break away from realistic and just be ridiculous.

@@yvanael Claymore is my favorite weapon class and I agree with the tier list placements. They're very satisfying to use but when looking at their movements, outside of Sayu they're nothing too special.

im incredibly biased but i really like chongyun’s normal attacks because he jumps twice in the sequence and he feels less like hes getting thrown around by the claymore like razor. i do think his ice blades should count too
Poor bennett... he has almost the same basic attacks as Kaeya but he gets the boring tier while kaeya chills in Fancy. Tho i definitelly give Kaeya the Fancy flare i love his last basic attack and the bounce he does afterwards, plus the fencing pose.
Just more bad luck for Bennyboi.
I think kaeya wins a little more because of the sword flips, his bounciness, the teleport, and the elegance
You can tell that kaeya’s more trained, while benny is still learning, which is cool story wise, but unfortunate for benny which tracks tbh

he said that kaeya was a role model so that's why he has the same attack as him
Bringing the tier lists that are impossible to disagree with.
Kaeya's teleport will also teleport you through small enemies and it's really fun but a little jarring when you're not used to it.
One thing about Chongyun...if you notice, he jumps wielding that claymore. Twice. Idk how much y'all know about weapons, but those thing are massive, and HEAVY. Any character using a claymore is cool as heck, but jumping with it is on another level. I know it's more about how interesting the animations are, but I think it deserves to be pointed out.

Considering that Chongyun trains a lot, he’s indeed strong. Well if he wanted to, he could just wield his Claymore one handed the whole time anyway without trouble. In fact, he literally does just that in Shenhe’s Character Demo.
And jumps, he jumps with a fucking claymore, the guy jumps, with a claymore in his hands, Chongyun deservers more love
The recovery animation for his second attack is also adorable, instead of pulling the claymore to him he basically does a little spin to pick it up. I think if he looked at the recovery/between animations too some characters would get a little more style.
Xingqiu’s attacks look like he learned them from a martial arts novel which he technically did and I think that’s a nice touch
With Sucrose, why didn’t you even mention how she looks when performing the attacks 😭😭 they put so much personality into it and with the finisher she even closes her eyes and flinches, like she’s waiting for something bad to happen
her ears also twitch in the finisher!
She acts shy and timid like a deer and I think like how Gorou represents a dog she represents a deer wich is neat and she has all the shyness of a deer.

Yep. These are the type of things that make me love the characters. This is also why I put Thoma with my team of catalyst users: he's my wood cutter. Fun fact, Yanfei charged attacks work with mining rocks. A charged > skill > charged combo leaves stuff with one melee auto of health left: another job for my Thoma.
Fun fact, every explosion is good for mining rocks. That includes Klee attacks and Overcharged condition, so even Amber can mine electro crystals.

Kind of disappointed that you didn’t mention that at the end of yun jin’s attacks, it plays a little tune (but at least you still put her in a tier)
Her sound design is top notch but I did decide to just leave audio out of it since most people are just grunts and stuff and it shaves a lot of time off the video to not have to worry about speaking over the sounds.
xingqiu actually has one of my most loved NAs. they are just so smooth and simple, and they really suits him. i can spam them for hours when i'm bored in genshin.

I love ningguang’s attack effects, but i feel like theyre a bit stiff when in combat, but rosaria, i have to say, her normal attack was the only reason i risked a ten pull on childe’s banner lol

I would put Chongyun in "a little spice" tho, bc of the twirling and jumping, it feels very "martial artist". I love that finisher attack

I still just roll the dice with my skill critting and if it doesn't so be it. Granted I have R5 favs on him so I don't have to deal with the second layer of RNG as much.
It's a shame because, they put more effort into the animation of new 4 stars (Thoma, Yunjin) then old ones, so that's why their animation are choppy, while newer ones are so smooth
The funny thing is that if you saw the making of Yun Jin, you’ll see she was planed and made waaay before Genshin released. But she’s a character that represent something so I get that she was made with extra care.
Honestly I like Xingqui’s, I think they fit his personality and whole theme well
As a Chongyun main, a thing a LOVE about him, is his 2nd NA recovery, he’s just so cute. Plus and as others said, he’s hella strong, like he jumps with that claymore, definetly a strong popsicle boi
While 4 star charged attack animations can be very repetitive, I know 5 star attacks are usually very unique to each character. I know for a fact Itto, Raiden, Zhongli, and Xiao all have different charged attacks and I love each of them
5 Stars definitely get more of a unique touch more often with CA's like Zhongli, Raiden, technically Ganyu/Yoimiya but some still got the generic treatment, I may just make a separate list for 5 star CA's after the NA list but banish all the normies to F.
That's understandable. I know Shenhe's NA's look nice but her CA is just like Xiangling's but just a little different so if I had a list her CA would be an F
I can definitely tell she'd been training in adepti arts with her NAs. Each of them look so graceful yet powerful
Her autos also have this really satisfying flow to them as she basically floats around.
It's why I love using her NAs the most. She's a mortal but her NA has this very adeptal and graceful feel to it, but still having a strong force behind them. Both factors are from her lore and personality, and I love when attacks factor into the characters personality and even their lore. Like with Fischl's and Xiao's. All of Xiao's attacks feel fast and ruthless, just how an adeptus that has a past of slaying monsters should be.
Another 5 star NA animations I love a lot are Yelan's. She isn't released yet, but her autos are by far the most unique to bow users, especially considering she actually kicks her bow. Shinobu's NAs are pretty fun to me too, but sadly she isn't released yet either so we still have to wait a bit for her
You forgot to mention that Barbara slaps harder than Will Smith
kaeyas teleporting saved me so many times, so for me he'll always have a special place in the upper tiers.
You should rank idle animations of characters too.
Fun fact : if you use barbara's normal and charged atk near an npc they will clap at her
Lisa can probably go higher in the list if you listen to her attacks
Venti can make music with instruments while lisa just attacks

Cool thing about Sayu, she is the only claymore user to not slamthe sword to the ground, cause she's a ninja, and slamming swords into grounds isnt ninja like (it makes a lot of noise :p)

While in most lists I always had something where I would love to disagree, this time... the only thing I can say is: Barbara has the animation budget of a 5* unit and I wish her kit had the same!
I find it funny that a lot of such tier lists rank Amber and Fischl so diffirently despite same attack animations. I don't mind getting Fischl some bonus points for poses, but highest rank for chuni and almost the lowest rank for Amber really shows some prejustice. Also, Chongyun's attacks are not the most basic attacks of Claymore users.
the first i notice about Chongyun's is how smooth his animations are, especially the leg flip in his final attack. i'd put him in at least B
As much as i like Noelle, i would actually put her basic attack on the boring tier.
And then swap that position with Chongyun, why?
For a claymore user, his movements is...fluid.
It is, but I might not have mentioned it but i actually like how Noelle's aren't fluid looking because she has super strength, like her final slam are barely moves, presumably because she's a friggin tank. That's the way I see it anyway.

Noelle outside of her burst is basic and borderline boring but inside her burst she’s really badass and awesome cuz damn Excalibur go brrrr.
as a yanfei main, i appreciate your love for her attacks. i too, love them.
after gorou drags his claw on the ground he actually growls at the target, and that makes him S tier rightaway for me
I would've put Razor in a little spice just for his last attack and Xingqiu in style oozing from every attack because for me the attacks look awesome and precise, which really fits his lore and personality
Also, I really like Chongyun's attacks, they are like Xingqiu's in the sense that they are smooth and precise, both look like they practiced them a lot.
Razor's attacks are so cute, he stumbles on his third attack as he carries the blade forward into his final attack that knocks him up. The details between each of their attacks is so nice, Xingqiu and Chongyun's jumps/twirls and flips are fun, Xingqiu's charged attacks are funny to me because he does a whole spin for his slashes, he twirls forward like a claymore user for them. there's so many cool details in them.
What I love about Xingchiu's NA is that they're actually similar to Hu Tao's!
I never noticed how Yanfei canonically smacks her fire attacks like a volleyball serve until I went through the interlude quest and saw it in the cutscene.
We need an overpowered Thoma that synergizes with Ayato >:(

He does though, if you want a shielder and don't care about the vapes then they do pair well together because Ayato gets Thoma's shield stacks very quickly
@@salceds This, it's not meta, but the synergy is pretty nice between them.
Ironically Thomas Pyro application is what makes him messy on a Hu Tao team, yet if he had much higher Pyro application, he would be perfect for Ayato.
The best househusband and the most sterile dude in teyvat? That’s a funky but understandable combo.

Yeah agreed, a shame about many of these normal attack animations. You dont get to see them most of the time. My fave recent is Ayato's normal attack animations (and especially his charged attack). They ooze so much elegance and flair, but it gets hidden because he's mainly going to be used for his skill and burst, and then swap off.
I like that he jabs them with the hilt of his sword in his combo. It's also a lot slower and more deliberate than the average swordsman.

Rosaria's autos are what got me to first put her on my team, back on Childe's first rerun. A year later, and she's now my main. She's triple crowned, has an R2 Deathmatch, and has several artifacts dedicated to different types on builds (phys vs cryo dps). Love her to death, and won't be leaving her behind any time soon.

Yunjin’s normal attack chain , especially the fourth one, reflects Chinese Opera dance movements which I think is really cool

Yunjin's animations and character trailer are some of the best I've ever seen for a 4 star. Her trailer and the music especially is one of the best produced 4 star trailers. It's so good.

I wanted to ask one thing though; I dont know if you do listen to their attacks, but sometimes hoyoverse gives a lot of detail to how attacks sound. This goes especially to bow characters however there's also the part with yunjin and Lisa's hidden melody (I've also noticed some string instrument when yae does her charged attack). I was just wondering if you did listen because I don't remember if you ever had mentioned how their attacks sound, even in the rankings before this. If not, you don't have to because most of the time, it's monotonous and could feel like water torture.
I've heard a lot of people talk about Lisa's music notes and that's a really cool detail but I would consider sound design a different thing altogether for this purpose.
I decided to go full mute for this one up keep the video shorter and just to not hear a bunch of grunts and breathing.

Did you know that Lisa's attacks play music? It's really hard to hear but they make a sweet melody.
I actually didn't know this cause my sound is usually quite low/off but it's an awesome detail that many have pointed out!

Xinyan and beideo i I think that is how you spell their name have the same mq’s just beideo does a kid at the end
So I'm not seeing any comments from any fencers so I'll pitch in my knowledge regarding Kaeya. There's actually three kinds of fencing, and one that would make the most sense for him would be Sabre, which is characterized by slashing movements. The ones most people think about are either Foil or Épée, both which are more "stabby" in nature. I've only ever done Foil though, so I'm not really qualified to say if his animations do indeed have Sabre influences.

y’know a lot of stuff about constellations pop up in these videos, maybe you could do a tier list dedicated to the effects characters get at certain constellations?
I dont like your ranking at all but this is a good video, quick progression, clean showcases, nice overview and its interesting to hear your opinion as much as i disagree. You have earned yourself a like and subscribe, i like the effort put into this video.
Really nice vid!! Despite being a Beidou main I never really payed attention to the claymore-kick XD
I will say, personally the reason I like Sara is more because I find her to be one of the deeper Inazuma characters because of how she was essentially used by her adoptive family, and less for the “cool strict woman” reason....but yeah, other than her burst really, her animations are just kind of dull.

actually on what you said about amber (said from me that has done 1 year of arching and knows pretty basic stuff)
to shoot mostly like perfect and kinda gurantee yourself that you wont loose your shot you close one eye
though people that have done profesional training for global-wide competisions can get a few extra points for not closing one eye
also kaeya has the first 3 attacks the same with bennett
fun fact: yun jin third or fourth attack has a cool sound effect if you wait a little after doing it

It's interesting to see characters that share the same animation (Bennett and Kaeya, Fischl and Amber) to have such a big gap in the ranking. That little added touch really makes a difference.
I just binge watched all these videos and it’s kind of made me want to build my Barbara. Considering I’m at a point where I no longer struggle with any content in the game and have carries like hu tao, Ganyu and Zhongli, there’s no reason not to just use her for the sheer beauty of her animations from time to time

4:22 as a fencer, i find it quite cool.
Hopefully we get more of it and perhaps a character that's all in on it, even if we have two that I think would be perfect already!

Yunjin's attack combo is so graceful. It looks like she's dancing more than attacking but you know, with a sharp weapon. So don't go near her or you'll get blendered
I like how all Sara attacks have a ending
To me Sayu has one of the most interesting attack chain out of claymore, even though I don't like claymore users much but I bring sayu when exploration not to catch bug but to break rocks (and ofc spin everywhere)

Actually you could auto attack with gorou in a mono geo team if you have albedo in there because you can proc the blossom from a distance
There is one thing that i like about sayu's aa that i dont see get mentioned much, i dont know if its intentional or not but she doesnt slam her sword unlike most of the claymore users. This may be due to the fact that shes a ninja and well, ninja's be sneaky yo.
YOOOO what is that track that starts playing during Thoma's ranking? It's definitely by SoundTeMP, but I've never heard it before.
Btw, love the Ragnarok Online tunes throughout your videos. Very nostalgic, and they just work.

I'm glad both Diona and Sayu are my sub dps, so I have a lot of chances to see their cute attack animations.
Heizou: BEST ATTACK ANIMATIONS EVER! Its original and unique and I love the little floaty spin he does after his finisher omg I love his attacks but minutes after getting him I got Kazuha so now I have no reason to use him :(

Sayu also has a unique thing about her normal attack combo, she's the only claymore user without a slam move (most claymore finishers), she's a ninja after all, she doesn't want to catch attention by making too much noise
Also I don't know what it is about Xinqiu, but he looks like he's scribbling with the tip of his sword like a pen with his third attack, I like it, tho the rest is kinda basic

I feel like you didn't showcase Fischl's animations enough. She has different ending animations and voicelines between whether you end her normal attack string at N3, N4 or N5, which I absolutely adore about her animations.
And while bow charge attacks aren't anything special, fully charged CAs have sound effects when aiming depending on the element, which is especially prevalent in Gorou's case. His CA sounds kind of nice
Style tier lists, finally. Honestly for me stringing cool animation combos > dps. So many 4 stars feed into that type of gameplay lol
