1) Those things circling Beidou are in fact, dragons. 2) For Klee, I feel like that's the point. She is portrayed as a sweet kid that's actually an arsonist. Outside, she's a cute sweet child but really she's a scary arsonist. i think that's what they were portraying with her art. 3) For shenhe, that talisman is supposed to hide the cryo avatar's face. If you look at her held skill, the avatar has a seal covering it's face. 4) I am one of those pyschopath that wants Qiqi. I've wanted her from the start and I still want her to this day. 5) Fun fact: Every Archon's splash art has the terrain from their nations. Venti has a landscape of monstadt, Zhongli looks like Guyun Stone Forest/Somewhere in Jeuyun Karst and Raiden Shogun has the Tenshukaku. 6) Yae Miko's splash art is my favorite. I think it's because I just love pink and purple hues. Maybe that's why I ship EiMiko. 7) Childe's splash art is so big it doesn't even fit the screen lmao

this is actually the one tierlist I disagree with a lot but that's because of my own preferences, tastes and biases tbh. for instance some of the newer splash arts I'd put lower down because I'm not a fan of how all these new ones have the character in front of some artsy icon whereas older ones like diluc, jean and childe's have them IN the scene of the art (look how ayato looks almost disconnected from his background whereas you can see childe and diluc standing on the stone and their respective elements swirl around them a bit which gives light effects on their clothes)
I agree entirely, sometimes they don't look as good as the old style but I also think the new style has its winners as well. For instance I love Itto/Kokomi in theirs, I think they look totally natural where they are. Yae on the other hand looks pasted over just a good piece of art and I think they clash ever so slightly.

I feel like that's because they don't have the special images of them outside of splash art. Like when they show off a new character, you see them outside of their splash art so much that it feels unnatural when they're put in it.
I love the splash art where it looks like the character themselves are causing it. No part of Yae's skill says she'll conjure up a circle with cherry blossoms in the background so you know it's just her being stuck on top of a background.

They weren't drawn specifically for the splash art but rather a background was just put in afterwards. Meanwhile characters like Ganyu, Xiao, and Albedo have two separate poses, one for their concept art and one for their splash. I guess that's why their splash arts look so good and natural.

The main reason that Sara's wings don't show often in game is because her lore says that her home (on top of a mountain) was invaded, and she fell of the mountain with all the chaos happening around and fainted. She was supposed to die with a drop of that height, but she woke up with an electro vision in her hand. Her wings were broken, though, and she was never able to fly again.

Childe's was the first thing I ever saw of Genshin in general, and it's just been an iconic piece of the game I've always loved. The composition is what really sells it for me, with how it reminds me of the part of the character demo where he skates down a waterfall.
I'm don't understand why you didn't include the splash arts for the skins(Jean, Barbara, Ningguang, Keqing) we got? Do you like them better than the standard splash art?

I'm a Yoimiya main and I still think her design is one of the best in the game. However, I gotta agree that her splash art doesn't do her justice. There's not much contrast between her and the background which makes it look messy and unfocused, and she gets lost in it. Also hot take, I do not like her pose at all. At a glance, she looks like she only got 1 leg. Then the way her hair flows makes her kind of unrecognizable. It just doesn't show off how beautiful her design is
Yoimiya is also one of my favorites but objectively compared to the rest her Splash could just be improved so much by minor tweaks. I still like it, I could just like it more. She does great in basically every other aspect.

Personally, my favorite splash art is Xiao’s with my least favorite being Zhongli’s (I just hate the big block, I think it looks a whole lot cooler when things are separated and not just a rectangle when unrevealed)
I'm also not a fan of Zhongli's. When you look at it fully revealed it actually looks pretty good, but when you actually wish for him and it shows up on your screen it looks pretty awful

My favourite splash arts have to be from Xiao (perfect mix of blacks and greens gives off a corrupted vibe which is perfect for him), Raiden (gorgeous implementation of so many things from Inazuma), Albedo (best pose out of all splash arts + everything in the art is conjured by him which I love), Kokomi (her Ceremonial Garment blends into the art so well + amazing colours), and Eula (I love how the ice effects look like a cape).
Do you mean the character demo when they showcase their kits with cinematics and the one not dainsleif talking? That would be tricky since not all of the characters have a demo. (Mainly the og characters like bennett, razor, sucrose and such but I could be mistaken)
Hey...if yanfei's rabbit thingy gets a b tier, my boy gorou deserves some love(headpats) too because he has the little pupper by his side.....and i am really really biased about dogs.. Also nice tier.... despite loving kazu boi and ayayo their splash art is definitely weird..idk why....maybe because it doesn't work well in 2d Hmmm.....so about venti, i did notice the mond the very first time I saw his art....and idk why but that did made me feel so happy and sort of warm too. Beidous one is kinda funny to me I was confused for a while why she didn't have a shield and sometimes I saw her with a shield in gameplay and that's because you need her C1
Funny, the "paint a big scene" ones are just pretty good to me, but they're my least favorite when it comes to their silhouette. Y'know that half-second of anticipation when you see the gold shooting star and the silhouette of the character shows up before revealing itself? Other splashes like Chongyun, Venti and Jean's have a really strong silhouette, with the big effects of their artwork highlighted greatly as they stick further out from the center. With Zhongli, Raiden and Yae, it's kind of just an ink blot. And as a result, it takes away from all the stuff that's actually going on in their artwork, as it blends together a bit. There aren't distinct elements; it's just a bunch of contiguous things inside of a blob of color. Hope the future archons' splashes will resemble Venti's more.

Well, as always great video... Also, your video editing has gotten better and damn those little details you noticed are great. As Kokomi main (And by main i literally did two whole God damn domains soloing kokomi) And Raiden main too... I love the fact those two were top and their burst were also S tier if i recall correctly well, IT WAS the reason i pulled for them and IT IS the reason i use their Burst... Just to see those beautiful eye catching animations..

Partially did it in my list where I ranked all characters from favorite to least favorite. I ranked them based on how much I like their design/personality/gameplay and based it off a combination of those scores.

Ah yes, to see someone appreciate fandom's most hated hydro characters (kokomi and childe) splash art. Can't lie that I got Childe (got spooked in kokomi's banner lol) purely for his splash art. Kokomi's and Childe's splash art feels like a limited five star character. If only Kokomi is not hold back by the art used for profile outside gacha as well it could be even more and more majestic

@@2triedforthis830 It’s the characterization I dislike about him in the story being your rival and the designs he has. He’s depicted as some person having to battle and whatever for the sake of his family and while I think it’s sustainable for him to work like that for the Tsarita, it’s not ethical because it is straight up war. While there are ceremonial battles done for sport, Childe is claiming to love fighting when he’s in the middle of a huge conquest, exaggerating his views. On the other hand about his design, it’s a bit boring for a guy who wears a mask and fights like a madman. He does positively inspire the protagonist of a series I am writing especially with the double life, but with that double life, he has to be careful with what he does. P.S. I kinda wish more characters had a riptide effect, especially for Keqing and her bad damage output as her main.
Imo all new splash art after rosaria can only reach A tier at most. I'm sorry, but I just prefer more special splash art from older unit like Xiao, Albedo, Jean, Mona etc. I know they try their best, but all new splash art looks too flat and stick out like a sore thumb. My favorites are Zhongli's and Childe's.
Nowadays the splash art is just them basically taking the character's picture from the card/showcase/official design and putting a giant blocky background behind them. I miss the old method where they used to draw entirely new art for the character specifically for the splash art and made it look like the character themselves were the ones creating the splash art with their skills.
I have to agree for Kokomi's Splash Art being at the top. The streams of water behind her looks as though it's following the school of fish in front of her legs. Her look of compassion at the aquatic friends of hers, and the gorgeous hues of purple and pink highlights showing only in a few places really make the art stand out. Despite me not really being a huge fan of Kokomi, I have to agree that her art work is the best. If I had to think of anyone that gets close to that, it would probably be someone like Sucrose or Shenhe

i want to point out that like venti, zhongli and raiden show locations of liyue and inazuma in their splash (raiden shows the castle thing she stays in and zhongli shows those towers that you just hate getting commissions in because you have to climb and glide for ages)

This list is practically gospel for good splash art imo. The only one's I switch is Kokomi and Tartaglia, because while I absolutely love the colors and details of Kokomi's, I think Tartaglia's pose is more dynamic and the curve of the wave complements it perfectly, overall, I think the dynamic shape/pose and the recognizable silhouette puts it above Kokonut, and while I do think Kokomi's more sombre pose lends well to her personality, I just think Tartaglia's is slightly more visually appealing.
I may be biased because he’s my first 5* but childe’s is so cool. I also really love albedo’s, Jean’s, Diluc’s, Zhongli’s and raiden’s. They’re all so cool (especially zhongli but shhh). Also big agree on xinyan, hers is the best 4* splash

Shenhe having a talisman on the spirit is problem because of our Chinese culture part like qiqi design cause by putting talisman on the dead or spirit forehead they will not be able to move But ofcourse the talisman could just be the one that summon the spirit
im not even a huge barbara fan, but i will give an argument in favor of her splash art: the ring surrounding her does actually have the sheet music measures for the song she sings in her idle! i just think that's neat.

Honestly, I'm not really of a fan of the ones with too much background elements. Or the ones with too much clutter. Also, in general, I find the action poses to be a bit weak, it's more like they're just standing there waiting for a photographer to take his photo rather than them actually swinging their sword or whatever. Also also, I prefer it when the characters are actually standing on the ground.
Just my honest thoughts on them is all, but beyond the bottom 5 or so and top 5 everything is a lot closer than a letter based tier list would suggest. I still love Yoi's and Kaz's I just think they could be vastly improved with minor tweaks.

I think Xingqiu's is ruined slightly by the sword. It just seems a bit out of place, and aesthetically it would do him good to have a less 'bulky' sword, or one that actually looks sharp.
These videos are great, but they got me wondering. When Yelan and Kuki’s full splasharts officially release along with their normal attacks, skills etc. would you remake these videos or just wait until there’s a large amount of new units first?
I'd probably need a large amount to make them worth it again, especially since they've all happened quite recently. My opinions will definitely change a lot if I don't look/let the older lists influence me.
One thing i am very sad about is how they used to make 2 character arts for every character like hu tao has her splash with her ghost and another art without But they stopped doing that and just used the same art for the splash instead of making a new one Really lazy and missed opportunities as we couldve had a lot cooler splash/character arts
I dont have any particular favorite splash art in Genshin however I always prefer the 5 star ones. What I love about the splash art is that you will know which of the characters is the archon cuz they make sure to show the overall representation of the region in the background of their splash art. Edit: Also the most unique one is Tartaglia in terms of silhouette.
Kazuha's ranking surprised me, it's always been one of my fav splashes and I still remember how amazing it was when i first saw it. Maybe I'm biased 'cause I love Japanese art and gravures and loved the references to it, but I don't know, it's still pretty dope

Childe's was the first thing I ever saw of Genshin in general, and it's just been an iconic piece of the game I've always loved. The composition is what really sells it for me, with how it reminds me of the part of the character demo where he skates down a waterfall.

I'm a Yoimiya main and I still think her design is one of the best in the game. However, I gotta agree that her splash art doesn't do her justice. There's not much contrast between her and the background which makes it look messy and unfocused, and she gets lost in it. Also hot take, I do not like her pose at all. At a glance, she looks like she only got 1 leg. Then the way her hair flows makes her kind of unrecognizable. It just doesn't show off how beautiful her design is
Yoimiya is also one of my favorites but objectively compared to the rest her Splash could just be improved so much by minor tweaks. I still like it, I could just like it more. She does great in basically every other aspect.

Personally, my favorite splash art is Xiao’s with my least favorite being Zhongli’s (I just hate the big block, I think it looks a whole lot cooler when things are separated and not just a rectangle when unrevealed)
I'm also not a fan of Zhongli's. When you look at it fully revealed it actually looks pretty good, but when you actually wish for him and it shows up on your screen it looks pretty awful

I was hardcore into RO/MapleStory as a kid, RO wasn't quite as steady as Maple due to private servers but I still played it a ton.

My favourite splash arts have to be from Xiao (perfect mix of blacks and greens gives off a corrupted vibe which is perfect for him), Raiden (gorgeous implementation of so many things from Inazuma), Albedo (best pose out of all splash arts + everything in the art is conjured by him which I love), Kokomi (her Ceremonial Garment blends into the art so well + amazing colours), and Eula (I love how the ice effects look like a cape).

Do you mean the character demo when they showcase their kits with cinematics and the one not dainsleif talking? That would be tricky since not all of the characters have a demo. (Mainly the og characters like bennett, razor, sucrose and such but I could be mistaken)

Hmmm.....so about venti, i did notice the mond the very first time I saw his art....and idk why but that did made me feel so happy and sort of warm too. And that emotional connect for me is why venti splash has been my top fav despite far more visually stunning art that we have now...😊

Anemo holds a special place in my heart. However my favorite splash arts are those of Venti’s, Yae Miko’s, Hu Tao’s, Jean’s, and Mona’s.
Funny, the "paint a big scene" ones are just pretty good to me, but they're my least favorite when it comes to their silhouette. Y'know that half-second of anticipation when you see the gold shooting star and the silhouette of the character shows up before revealing itself? Other splashes like Chongyun, Venti and Jean's have a really strong silhouette, with the big effects of their artwork highlighted greatly as they stick further out from the center. With Zhongli, Raiden and Yae, it's kind of just an ink blot. And as a result, it takes away from all the stuff that's actually going on in their artwork, as it blends together a bit. There aren't distinct elements; it's just a bunch of contiguous things inside of a blob of color. Hope the future archons' splashes will resemble Venti's more.

The theming with Kokomi is just amazing, I may be 100% biased on it but I just love how deep they went into the Ocean theme, she's not just hydro/water like the rest.

Partially did it in my list where I ranked all characters from favorite to least favorite. I ranked them based on how much I like their design/personality/gameplay and based it off a combination of those scores.

Thanks for the kind words! I would love to do a demo ranking, I considered it before I ever made my first list, I'm just concerned for the viewers time rather than my own. Even if I trim them down it'd probably be a 30 minute plus video easily unless I rate them without showing them.

Ah yes, to see someone appreciate fandom's most hated hydro characters (kokomi and childe) splash art. Can't lie that I got Childe (got spooked in kokomi's banner lol) purely for his splash art. Kokomi's and Childe's splash art feels like a limited five star character. If only Kokomi is not hold back by the art used for profile outside gacha as well it could be even more and more majestic
I love childes he’s are amzing and so is kokomis but chidles is just so cool especially in the wish animation the excitement and everything. Also I how come chidles hated? I personally love him!
@@2triedforthis830 It’s the characterization I dislike about him in the story being your rival and the designs he has. He’s depicted as some person having to battle and whatever for the sake of his family and while I think it’s sustainable for him to work like that for the Tsarita, it’s not ethical because it is straight up war. While there are ceremonial battles done for sport, Childe is claiming to love fighting when he’s in the middle of a huge conquest, exaggerating his views. On the other hand about his design, it’s a bit boring for a guy who wears a mask and fights like a madman. He does positively inspire the protagonist of a series I am writing especially with the double life, but with that double life, he has to be careful with what he does.
P.S. I kinda wish more characters had a riptide effect, especially for Keqing and her bad damage output as her main.
In what world are Childe and Kokomi the most hated characters? Maybe at release Koko was hated but nowadays they're both considered great.

Imo all new splash art after rosaria can only reach A tier at most. I'm sorry, but I just prefer more special splash art from older unit like Xiao, Albedo, Jean, Mona etc. I know they try their best, but all new splash art looks too flat and stick out like a sore thumb. My favorites are Zhongli's and Childe's.

Nowadays the splash art is just them basically taking the character's picture from the card/showcase/official design and putting a giant blocky background behind them. I miss the old method where they used to draw entirely new art for the character specifically for the splash art and made it look like the character themselves were the ones creating the splash art with their skills.
I have to agree for Kokomi's Splash Art being at the top. The streams of water behind her looks as though it's following the school of fish in front of her legs. Her look of compassion at the aquatic friends of hers, and the gorgeous hues of purple and pink highlights showing only in a few places really make the art stand out.
Despite me not really being a huge fan of Kokomi, I have to agree that her art work is the best. If I had to think of anyone that gets close to that, it would probably be someone like Sucrose or Shenhe

i want to point out that like venti, zhongli and raiden show locations of liyue and inazuma in their splash (raiden shows the castle thing she stays in and zhongli shows those towers that you just hate getting commissions in because you have to climb and glide for ages)

This list is practically gospel for good splash art imo. The only one's I switch is Kokomi and Tartaglia, because while I absolutely love the colors and details of Kokomi's, I think Tartaglia's pose is more dynamic and the curve of the wave complements it perfectly, overall, I think the dynamic shape/pose and the recognizable silhouette puts it above Kokonut, and while I do think Kokomi's more sombre pose lends well to her personality, I just think Tartaglia's is slightly more visually appealing.
I think you like water themed things the same way i like wind themed things. Neat

Shenhe having a talisman on the spirit is problem because of our Chinese culture part like qiqi design cause by putting talisman on the dead or spirit forehead they will not be able to move

Honestly, I'm not really of a fan of the ones with too much background elements. Or the ones with too much clutter. Also, in general, I find the action poses to be a bit weak, it's more like they're just standing there waiting for a photographer to take his photo rather than them actually swinging their sword or whatever. Also also, I prefer it when the characters are actually standing on the ground.

Just my honest thoughts on them is all, but beyond the bottom 5 or so and top 5 everything is a lot closer than a letter based tier list would suggest. I still love Yoi's and Kaz's I just think they could be vastly improved with minor tweaks.

I think Xingqiu's is ruined slightly by the sword. It just seems a bit out of place, and aesthetically it would do him good to have a less 'bulky' sword, or one that actually looks sharp.

These videos are great, but they got me wondering. When Yelan and Kuki’s full splasharts officially release along with their normal attacks, skills etc. would you remake these videos or just wait until there’s a large amount of new units first?
I'd probably need a large amount to make them worth it again, especially since they've all happened quite recently. My opinions will definitely change a lot if I don't look/let the older lists influence me.
One thing i am very sad about is how they used to make 2 character arts for every character like hu tao has her splash with her ghost and another art without

I dont have any particular favorite splash art in Genshin however I always prefer the 5 star ones.
What I love about the splash art is that you will know which of the characters is the archon cuz they make sure to show the overall representation of the region in the background of their splash art.
Edit: Also the most unique one is Tartaglia in terms of silhouette.
It's weird how Xinyan is very thorough in her characterization in her abilities, art, and playstyle, but her actual combat implementation is a mess

Kazuha's ranking surprised me, it's always been one of my fav splashes and I still remember how amazing it was when i first saw it. Maybe I'm biased 'cause I love Japanese art and gravures and loved the references to it, but I don't know, it's still pretty dope
