Thank you so much for sharing your skills and enabling us to repair our cherished ceramics. Recently had two mis-haps so I'm particularly grateful. Excellent video.
Thanks for making -- Titanium Dioxide is a new one to me, so I definitely learnt something here. Just broke a nice bowl yesterday so that's why I'm looking.
I think I love the way you speak in English, I also want to say thank you as your video is very helpful I was able to repair my broken bowl today. Hope you will write me back soon. All the best and hope to know you better 💖🙏
Thanks! Is there an important difference between Araldite Glue and regular 2-part epoxy? Is it the curing time? Also, you listed acrylic paint, although you didn't use it. Did you mean to list the powder you used? Thanks!
I always use Araldite slow cure glue as you have time for adjustment. I did buy my powder pigments a Green and Stone in Kings Road London. I will add some more links from Amazon for Powder Pigments .
Well done, you're quite patient and that's what it takes. I've used Gorilla Glue on some Staffordshire because it's transparent. It definitely holds well.
Thank you very much for your reply. I will try the products you mentioned. The teacup has a very small chip where the gold trim is. The other piece is a serving bowl with a small chip on the edge. This will not come in contact with food. I will watch your other videos and let you know how my two pieces turn out. If anyone else has any suggestions, I welcome them.
I use Winsor and Newton Professional Acrylic paint and Rustins Ceramic glaze. I tend to use liquid old gold, which i do have videos on Kintsugi in which I use the product.
My husband accidently broke a coffee mug that he had as a keep sake from his late grandmother whom he loved very much. Would using the araldite be safe to use if he were to use it for coffee again?
Hi Ray, I use a Aalidite glue, so I wouldn't recommend it to be food safe. Also once glued if you put it in hot water to clean, it could brake apart. Depending on your item you can also mend and find another use for it. Hope this helps.😃
This looks like a good solution to a beautiful piece of hard paste Silesian porcelain china chocolate pot I have, that has a broken small lid handle. I wondered as I watched, whether the epoxy that seeps out from the cracks when compressing the broken pieces, is an issue on the surfaces that are covered with tape. Does the squeezed out epoxy stick to the tape so it is visible when dry? Should I apply another batch of tape once the pieces are compressed and those seepages are cleaned? Thanks for any advice.
Many thanks for your comment, once the glue starts to set the tape and come off and any surplus glue and be gently wiped of with a damp cloth. Then can be re-tapped again with slight pressure. Please let me know hiw you progress in your journey. 👌
Please if you can help and tell me is it possible to repair my old ceramic boll for baking cakes 🍰 it will be able to take hig temperatures in the owen..Is there any material that you can recommend for me..l love kintsugi techniques..Thenk you for your help..
Just love your videos. How would you do a repair on items that the person wants to re-use. Eg teapot, cups, plates. Would love your help or referral to a video
Hi there, unfortunately, you cannot place the item in hot water or oven afterwards, as this would compromise and soften the glue. So pleased you enjoy my channel.🥰
If it is a small missing piece or chip, you could use Milliput as this is also self adhesive and wouldn't soften in warm water. You will have to look at their manufacturers detail to make sure.
Hi do you think I can repair my porcelain tea pot which I boil water in it. Is it going to that strong to keep water inside on cooker. Any advise? Thanks
Hi Danny, many thanks fir your comment and for watching. You can purchase titanium dioxide powder from a company in England called Conservation Resources. Hope this helps and please let me know how you get on.🥰
I have just sent you a message on instagram, but I´ll send it here i case you don´t are used to see your instagram. I have a ceramic platter Le Creuset, its cracked, not broken. What do you recommend to fix the crack ? It has to be a non toxic material since food is going there again, I pretend to cook again on there. I thought about DAS (that italian ceramic brand). Do you think it could work ?
Hi there, I cannot guarantee that Milliput is food safe to fill the crack, the same with DAS. You could possilby look at the manufacturers instructions from Google for clarification . Also if you have a crack you have a weak point in your ceramic and it will probably crack further. Please let me know how you get on.
@@theceramicrepairstudio thanks A lot for your kind reply. You are right, they are all toxic, and as you say, a dose of reality, it can crack more once on the oven.
Very useful video, but if you're going to make videos for public viewing you should have all your materials prepared and ready to hand, otherwise your video will look very unorganised and amateurish. The nearly empty glue tubes are a no no! Good luck with the next one.

Many thanks for your comment. Gorilla glue is great depending what you are gluing.
Beautiful Bowl
Thank you.
Broke my favourite tea cup ;___;

Sounds great!
What were you wiping the glue with at the end? I couldn’t make out the word. Thank you 😊
What type of paint or glaze to use on repaired tea cup. And how to add gold trim?
I use Winsor and Newton Professional Acrylic paint and Rustins Ceramic glaze. I tend to use liquid old gold, which i do have videos on Kintsugi in which I use the product.

Sorry the glue would soften, so I wouldn't recommend using after.
I accidentally dropped a bowl and I’m here cuz my mom would kill me if she saw it so I’m here to save my life
Good luck 👍
Same here
Same, her wedding gift.
But did you live? HELLO?? DONT LEAVE IS HANGING!!
RIP…😅
Thx for saving me from my mom
Your 🙏 welcome
Can it hold hot soups after this repair process?
Unfortunatly not
is this a food safe repair ?

The China Repair Studio I recently watched this, in the end I think he used a safe way and looks closer to the traditional Kintsugi method

Will this work the same for glass with a different glue?
It all depends on the glue.
@@theceramicrepairstudio loctite glass glue?
Where do you buy titanium power?
Hi Delia, I you can buy it on Amazon. I will add it also to my website.🥰💕🍀
@@theceramicrepairstudio can I buy it at a pharmacy in in South Africa? Where would one purchase this product at a paint shop or hardware?

Could I mix the glue with paint or would that ruin it?
I wouldn't recommend mixing them both together.
Is it safe to consume tea or coffee after using araldite??
I probably wouldn't recommend it.
Then what should I use to fix my favorite mug please help me! ❤️

I think you can buy it on Amazon. 😀

Hi there, unfortunately the hot water will weaken the glue, so is not advisable. 👍

Hi..Let me know what type of glue you used to restore the ceramic bowl. Is it food safe? Thanks in advance..
I use Araldite glue slow hardening, I wouldn't recommend using it with food.
Hope you enjoy the video.
I want to buy this type of Bowl because iam from India
Try this
I use super glue gel
Super glue tends to go rather yellow over time, you also have less time to re adjust and align the pieces. 😊💕
