Absolutely, it does have some strong Guyver vibes! The symbiotic armor, the transformation, and the deep connection between the host and the suit-it’s that perfect mix of biological-meets-mechanical with a hefty dose of heroism. Aegis Prime could easily stand alongside Guyver as another legendary protector in the galaxy!
@@NevynDarkstar True, but a human putting it on was enough to terrify the Creators since they lost all control over them and they gained obscene levels of power. Their own fault for creating a super soldier base species for war. Ah. Humanity.
After a headache inducing out of focus screen, I found out 2 things. First, that was a great, seemingly original story. 👍 And the second, this site's closed captioning sucks out loud.😞 Otherwise great!!
Interesting theory! Maybe the suit’s power source is symbiotic-drawing just enough from the host to function without causing harm. Or maybe… it’s a darker trade-off than anyone realizes. 👀
Great story but the end could have been better, such as mentioning what happened to James? Instead may I suggest an alternate add on and end. At the time before the war, humans were not considered equals despite being members of the council (almost discrimated). So, based on the story of Aegis Prime built in the past, and its requirements for a host that were indeed humans or many of humanity qualities, then the Zentharis could have built more Aegis Primes. Then James would have asked Earth to joint the fight and some humans to become host as protectors of the galaxy as the ancient builders intended, a new Aegis Prime Galactic Guardians, which would have demonstrated that humans might have not been advanced but they were a great ally that will stand and die if necessary to protect the innocent. The final chapter would have been about how humans became respected as the species that was needed (like a puzzle) for galactic peace and then to mention what happened to James, the 1st Aegis Prime host, now married with a Zenthari, and one of his children, becoming a new host of his Aegis Prime, serving to keep the peace, as his father did before him, because as you know evil never rests. That would have been a great end, in my opinion. 😊
Not every story wrals up with a neat bow. Since the end nentions James sleaks to the armor one last time, either he fou d a way to detach himself when things were at peace, or he died of old age a prisoner of the armor. The latter is rather grim, I choose the former. James, as a diplomat, remained as the linchpin of the coalition, and as he aged, a search for a replacement as the armor's symbiosis partner was undertaken, and the resulting partner was trained by James personally. Every 10 years, a new partner was found, trained by the predecessor. The coalition formed a contingent of guards to bith guard the partner, and to be the partner's squadmates, so the job did not get isolating and lonely. Once retired from the job, each ond, like James, enjoyed notoriety for a time, like a sports star who retired after a long career on the field or court. Each waz grateful the next war did not start on his, her, or its watch, and built a sexpcond career smoothing over minor conflicts around known space, doing everything possible to ensure tge shccessor had the same chance at gratitude. Aegis Prime itself spent much time both surveilling the scientists all through space, and in thought, devising new defenses and new weapons. If it ever needed to fight again, the opponent would have adapted to Prime's abilities. Prime needed to adapt as well. Its partner would have to learn, just as James had that first time. But Aegis Prime did not resent teaching the old skills to new minds. It kept the new ideas to itself, having learned too many organics were fearful, and would be terrified to knoe Aegis Prime was developing weapons all by itself.
That’s a fantastic alternate ending-turning humanity’s struggle for respect into a cornerstone for galactic unity. James leading the charge as the first Aegis Prime host and inspiring Earth to join the fight adds emotional depth and stakes. The idea of humans becoming the key to peace, with James passing the mantle to his child, gives it a legacy vibe that perfectly balances hope and heroism. Definitely a satisfying conclusion-and you're right, evil never rests! 😊
That’s a beautifully layered continuation, blending practicality with a touch of bittersweet realism. The idea of James stepping back and mentoring the next generation of hosts ensures his legacy while preventing Aegis Prime from becoming a grim prison. The cycle of training new partners and forming a support system shows humanity’s adaptability and commitment to avoiding isolation-a very human touch. Aegis Prime evolving quietly, preparing for threats while keeping its innovations secret, adds a fascinating tension. It respects its role but also understands the fragility of trust with organics. It’s a perfect balance of hope, pragmatism, and the ever-present edge of potential conflict. Honestly, this could be its own anthology of stories, tracing the lives of each partner and the ever-adapting Aegis Prime.
Initially I thought the AI in the armor had computed the likely futures and settled on picking a human not because they're special, but because it would have resulted in the best compromise between likelihood and benefits even beyond the current conflict. By dragging humans into the conflict, it would have unforeseeable consequences for the members of the involved species. The mutual hardship would have brought friendship between the alien specie and humanity, which would help in post-war prosperity. The alien specie being unsuited for conflict due to their long lasting peace, they would have instead excelled at handling the logistics, supplying the war effort, and handling artillery while holding the backline on the battlefield. While humanity would take the lead on the war tactics and going frontline, equipped and protected by alien tech. Both races would help each other in tangential ways: the alien would have their peace time mindset preserved by being on the periphery of the battlefield, the human by being external to the conflict would not act on their worst instincts. And having both tempered, it would end up with the enemy being neutralized in a manner that would minimize enmity so that peace may remain possible after the war, instead of ending with a ceasefire with the enemy licking their wound and retreating to recover and wage war again which would end with terribly more losses on all sides and a societal shift into the alien society to a military dictatorship.
Great story, but you need to work on the subtitles. Many names and words had so many different spellings that if someone deaf was trying to follow the story they would be lost.
Totally! X-O Manowar vibes but cranked up to galactic proportions-ancient tech, unstoppable power, and a story that spans the stars. It’s like taking everything awesome about X-O and giving it a massive cosmic upgrade. Cool, indeed!
Exactly-alien origin, legendary power, and a mysterious purpose. Definitely has those Ultraman vibes, but with its own twist. Aegis Prime could be the next iconic guardian!
1:30 The problem with AI is it speaks what it's given and if that script isn't written well, then the speech reflects that. So how does the Channel creator explain the lazy subtitles? "Zenith Koreans?"
Fair point! Bad input equals bad output, and those subtitles definitely slipped through the cracks. "Zenith Koreans" was not the vibe-thanks for catching that! We’ll do better.
And, to this very day, Aegis Prime awaits another who is worthy. And, while considered dormant, the armor stays ever vigilant. Its silence being more to keep the Zenthari and others calm than for any failing in the armor. Aegis enjoyed the peace, at least as much as any sentient machine could. And to keep himself busy, he began to read everything he could find from every library in the galaxy he could access. Even idle, Aegis had enough data to last him thousands of years. He was content. And when the time came. he was more than ready to resume his duties. And, during those years of "inactivity", he had found the one he was waiting for.
That's absolutely the future for Aegis Prime. Imagine the moment the armor finally activates again-a quiet hum building to a deafening roar, ancient glyphs glowing to life as Aegis announces, with perfect timing and a hint of dry wit, “Took you long enough. I’ve read every book in existence, and I’ve had centuries to plan for this. Let’s get to work.”
Interesting story, too bad the spelling does not match the quality of the story. "..the galaxy prepared for another invasion"?? the GALAXY wasn't be invaded, only 1 planet was.
Thanks for pointing that out-seems like the wording didn’t match the scope. We’ll tighten it up to reflect the story’s actual scale. Appreciate the feedback!
I enjoyed this story but remember not every story has to have a moral code built in, humans are an imperfect species but not for the better, just look at what we have done to each other and our planet, we have not become the protectors but the destroyers, a few hundred million good people who do nothing to help and defend this planet are nothing against the forces who are willing to destroy the wildlife, the marine environment, the very air we breath, and because we will not control our childbirth rate we are well over the 8 Billion humans, we need to expand to other planets and yet very few are willing to work at doing this, where has the explorer's spirit gone, we have our chance still but we all must look inwards and choose death and destruction, or life and exploration, the reason nothing gets done could be the leaders of every country wants to be in control of everything even the elites believe they have the answers, for they can buy the greatest minds of our time, yet they forget we are all flawed humans and must all be involved in the future every single thinking person must make the final choice, yes I know this would lead to the death of billions of humans and it wouldn't work we need people like Elon Musk and all of his incredible people but we need so much more if all the countries joined and made the future happen it would not just be the moon and Mars we would go to but could build homes for everyone, I believe the dinosaurs had the same choice, but chose the wrong path, will we do the same. Jim from Scotland
Jim, your comment is both thought-provoking and sobering. You’re absolutely right that humanity often seems caught between its potential for greatness and its tendency toward self-destruction. The environmental damage we’ve inflicted and the lack of collective action are staggering reminders of our imperfections, but I think there’s still hope. Exploration and innovation are indeed vital, without them, we stagnate. But perhaps the spirit of exploration hasn’t disappeared entirely; it’s just buried under layers of short-term priorities and systemic inertia. Visionaries like Musk are a start, but as you said, it will take a global effort to truly make a difference. That means not just a handful of brilliant minds or powerful leaders, but everyday people recognizing their role in shaping the future. Your point about the dinosaurs is an apt metaphor, whether by choice or circumstance, they didn’t adapt. But we have the awareness and tools to do better. It’s daunting, yes, but small changes at individual levels can ripple into larger movements. Let’s hope we can channel that explorer's spirit you mentioned-not just to escape our problems, but to build a future where humanity thrives without leaving destruction in its wake.
Maybe it’s not an inferiority complex-just humanity turning chaos and stubbornness into a superpower. If aliens think we’re weak, they’ve got no idea what happens when we lean into our unpredictability. Underdogs always hit hardest.
This story was more than a little bland in it's "action" depiction. A typical blathering on of ideologies, alien arrogance, the usual quest for power. The creation of the AI power armor had potential but the story bogged down with the petty squabbles of politicians pretending to be altruistic. The idea that one guy in a newly devised combat suit that had a mind of its own turning the tide of a galactic war was too Captain America-ish and unoriginal. The battle scenes and accomplishments lacked any real detail. All in all, pretty mundane and nap inducing.
