I legit feared for Ethan's health when he ate the stuffing without taking the temperature, especially after he only took the temp of one part of the bird and it was still raw in other parts after he cut it. Also when Ethan threw a stick of butter into the pot with the cranberries, a part of my soul died.
I'm pretty sure it wasn't still raw where he cut it, he cut the thigh meat, which tends to be more pink/red even after fully cooking because of pigment from the bone marrow causing the meat to look red because of a higher haemoglobin content. This is also why that part is called 'dark meat'.

lmao matpat literally just made a video explaining the whole cooking process of turkey and stuffing. dark meat and white meat don't cook at the same temperature, that's why there's parts of your chicken that aren't fully cooked. the stuffing being put inside the bird makes it so it takes longer to cook, that's why the carrots were undercooked. but if you'd put it for longer, it'd dry out the white meat even more. not bad at all for not only not following a recipe but also having never done it before. just a bit more control on seasonings and a longer cooking time and it'd be a good thanskgiving meal

Coming from someone who’s worked in a kitchen, never eat the stuffing straight from the bird. When you cook a turkey or bird in the oven and it finishes cooking, the stuffing inside can still contain uncooked juices from the bird which can result in food related illness. When you finished cooking the bird, pull the stuffing out and cook it further in the oven in a separate container so that everything is properly cooked through.
