Heavy whipping cream could be substituted for the butter cream. The bowl should be chilled before whipping. A lot of cakes have butter cream frosting. You make it seem effortless! Good for you!
It's beautiful, but inedible. Where I come from no one would ever eat butter cream - it's waaaaaaaaaay too sweat. Nobody makes it, nobody sells cakes with it, nobody eats it... Any suggestions for a different frosting / topping without butter?

So disappointing !!!!! Where are the strawberries ????? So far it is tons of sugar and lots of food coloring . Called rose cake and flavored with some perfume . People these days are looking for less sugar more flavor . How could you do this to us Martha ???
She did use strawberry jam between the layers, but just a tiny bit. I guess we'd have to taste it to see if the flavor comes through. I'd be happy to volunteer for that. :)

Anna M. I would try Italian Meringue or whipped cream.
Swiss meringue is actually tastes pretty great with creamcheese. It does contains butter but not much sugar at all
