    I love how much the testing and amount of videos you’ve been pumping out on sprights. I too I’ve been struggling with figuring this decks identity in this Fire Format.

    I used to have a lot of the frog cards as a kid, never enough to build a deck unfortunately. Now that substitoad is off the banlist ive been messing around with a frog package, with a small spright engine, 1 blue, 2 jet, 1 red, 1 carrot, 2 starter. Running 3 slime toad, along with unexpected dai, 3 swap, 2 dupe, 1 sub, 1 treeborn. Along with cards like salvage and surface which are also not once per turn effects makes it pretty consistent. Also running sheiren you could send it off of sprind for her fusion effect, or use her as a discard for angler if you open both. Using bujinki for an easy toad is pretty easy. Only thing im struggling on is a good normal summon. If i can get substitoad in hand or open it great, but right now my only option really is using unexpected dai. Im wanting to add a small melffy engine into my deck running wally, pony, and pinny. Just looked up catty, most likely would run just catty and pinny as you have here. I have been really enjoying the deck as not only is it nostalgic but also pretty fun. You can also dupe lock your opponent using avramax and dupe frog, so if you are able to get toad out with ip you can summon dupe on standby and then avramax.
    I love the super poly though, ive been thinking about running it myself. Only problem is the ED is so tight already. Also with the frogs you can use anglers effect multiple times in a turn potentially, with a salvage.
    Edit: I had no clue about herald, that would be even better in frogs as that would get me substitoad back from grave and potentially put one of my frogs back in deck. I am definitely getting myself a copy of that card. Plus I was interested in running infinitrack megaclops but the problem is I run about 50/50 on links and XYZ so having extra xyz fodder for it would give me a different line than just going for toad, avramax, dupe lock.
    Also swap can bounce blue back to hand for follow up next turn.

      Hey! Fun ideas for sure, I also loved Frog Monarch back in the day.
      I thought about all the Tear synergy (fusing off Merrli and any fusion for Dragostapelia, usually Allvain which is summoned using Instant Fusion), but they just hard to Nib. Have you considered using One-for-One for Substitoad, though?

    • @poeskey
      @poeskey 3 месяца назад

      @@theorangegriffin7531 i do run a copy of one for one as well, since its another good pitch option for angler. Most of the time for toad i send it to grave off of swap, honestly though it really depends on what my hand will allow when it come to what i send off swap.

    Consider Earth Golem @Ignister as a superpoly-target. Hits the Kashtira-Heatsoul-Deck, many Snake-Eye-Boards and other decks.

      Have considered it! From memory, it requires... a Cyberse and a Link Monster or something? I think in the instance where IP and Whale are on the field, Mudragon is probably equally viable, unless they play around Super Poly and end on a different end board. Interesting to consider though!

    IMO Onibimaru and Phoenix are critical. This deck has always had a shortage of on-tap easy targeted removal, and having an ED monster on board + another body to go for SP is a bit resource intensive. That, plus the fact that Phoenix or Cerb + Angler in hand feels so good. I play all 3, the latter 2 being easy link fodder when I Talents if I don't want to go Sprind right away. IMO I'd lose the Cat. It doesn't come up enough

    • @theorangegriffin7531
      @theorangegriffin7531  6 месяцев назад

      I used to agree with the 2 Knightmares and Onibimaru being mandatory cards in the ED, but with the Super Poly targets and the Melffy cards, we have to compromise. I rarely find myself in a situation where I miss Onibimaru or Phoenix nowadays, but it's something I will keep in mind!
      Mann Cat has always been an amazing source for floodgates that I'll side in for the meta (Kristya for Purrely, Anubis back then for Tear/Unchained), and has always netted me follow-up in tough grind games. Personally, it has always done well for me.

    So after some reps and analyzing, i feel like shifter is not good enough. i dont know why but there a tons of times, where they can end on SOMETHING or have HTs to distrupt ur plays just enough so u cannot gamma otk/recycle shifter properly with anything on board. Meanwhile Veiler and Imperm are putting in enough work to mitigate a ton and not being able to play veiler or have veiler/imperm + nib as a combo hurts. A good nib after they used flammberge is REALLY nice and somehow not enough people are playing the nib proof combo (maybe this wont age well..)
    snake eyes is THE deck to beat, so shifter is not only used by us, but it is pretty much, snake eyes, shifter decks, and literally anything else (which we should have a chance against with spright) with the first two ones being the majority.
    Nib conflicts with fenrir, so maybe thats a cut? We can do more mosqito otks with nib too, maybe that might come handy? Fenrir doesnt do enough i feel like... i know fenrir is needed TONS of times in order to make sprint going second or first even sometimes to have SOMETHING to play, but there is no way that sprind/angler resolves in an HT meta if they see us makin stuff with fenrir + a melffy for example.
    Additionally, superpoly is also somehow just not good enough. Sure, it helps against most of the other combo deck matchups, fusing appo + baronne or dispater/sp or whatever and having mudragon against snake eyes fk is nice too. But they can kirin untargeted pop it. and thats that (princess is live again).
    Droll seems way 2 weak, so the 2 of seems to be the call here as together with other HTs it is pretty decent and helps against some rogue, which we should be able to deal with either way tbh.
    Talents to rip in order to get rid of their playable (or make then actively play into some of ur HTs) is crazy good. Going Second it is really good too.... i dunno, i feel like this might just be a three of that is really nice here.
    Meowmine being able to summon whenever a link is on field or gy to have a lvl 2 on board seems prettyyy decent (but i get that in the current build we play shifter and playing into it just doesnt make sense). Ipiria just somehow seems so bad to draw and almost feels like a hard garnet sometimes + plays into droll (but ye we cannot get drolled under shifter, but if we go first and need a sprind line, we are really likely to get drolled if we dont shifter).
    Just some thoughts after tons of testing. Hope they give u some sort of ideas or maybe opinions that u agree on after also having put in some more time into this fire meta.

      Great insights! Here are my thoughts:
      In this meta, all Snake-Eyes combos require at least 2 handtraps to effectively stop. Typically, Shifter is the only exception to this, and so it feels mandatory to run because their board gets infinitely worse, and because you're able to only -1 to stop their combo. If they have a handtrap for your Gigantic, you're getting stopped regardless if Shifter was another card. That's just a fault with the Spright engine, and there's not much you can do with that, sadly.
      Nib does conflict with Fenrir, but there are a lot of situations where going 1st, Fenrir pass with Shifter in hand for their turn is correct instead of risking it with Sprind. It all comes down to reading the opponent, and seeing if your next draw will be better. Nib does combo well with EMP as well, which I will cover in my next video, which will be the non-Spright level 2 discussion video that you previously suggested (thanks for that!). This is why Nib is in my side, and I'm willing to take the trade-off for the conflict. Fenrir just feels too good to cut, because it's a huge body to push for lethal, and sometimes Fenrir control is enough to win a game alone under Shifter, whereas Nib feels situational vs all non-Fire King decks (especially Purrely and Voiceless Voice)
      As for Super Poly, it feels mandatory to run as well, as it stops their omni-negates in the Pure Snake-Eye variant, and stops their S:P from coming out in the other builds and gets you a free body. As mentioned above, I don't think a single Board-Breaker/Hand Trap is enough this format, as the interruptions are layered (aside from Shifter). Super Poly with a Crow or a Belle stops their entire end board, and I'll be posting a match for this as well.
      Droll alone is pretty weak against all variants but Fire-King, but it's mainly in the main deck so we don't auto-lose combo match-ups if we lose the dice roll (Mannadium/Sunavalon, etc), and has the added bonus of potentially making the Snake-Eye Fire-King boards a little weaker. You can make a case for subbing this out for Nib though, it's preference.
      Talents is nice, but I've just personally had it been dead too many times to count. The worst feeling is getting Impermed because they're playing around Talents, and having it be dead in hand. You can also make a debate to main deck it though.
      I will address the Ipiria/Meowmine question in my next video :) Hope I covered everything!

      @@theorangegriffin7531 heyy ty for that response and lookin forward to that video ^^ (ty in advance!)
      I agree on that shifter argument, ive just been high rolled a little bit too much by them as they were able to setup stuff under shifter or just handtrapped me enough so i couldnt play either and proceeded to play through whatever i had left with engine, as theirs is just that much stronger. Fenrir and Nib conflicting also came up quite a bit but u are right to side the nib for snake eyes and keep fenrirs in main tbf. Or even play both(?). On the talents debate:
      I am currently instantly adding 1 talents and 1 called by whenever im deckbuilding and i get how it can be dead in quite a bit of times but there are much more times where the draw 2 or the rip are 2good.
      I gotta agree on droll, just kills rogue and we need that.
      I am not too keen on d.d. crow atm i dont know why.. i should try it some more, it really is nice stopping their IP into S/T zone/princess/garunix/random lvl 1's but banishing only 1 just seems so weak to me idk.. but it IS a decent 6th card going second ig, unlike a veiler(which would also be dead under shifter) but i really really been liking veiler onto ash. It is just that nice turning off both effects.
      Super Poly.. hmm.. i am not quite sure yet. But i see the value. But this one card one loses just seems to be so valuable most of the time to just try to play the game, and we sometimes lose to one handtrap.. i feel like thats a me problem through not playin midrangey enough with spright. (Cuz i played the going 2nd variant a ton) superpoly kills "half" boards tho. And deals with a good amount of negates, i get where u are coming from. I think ive read too much into what Jesse Cotton was talking about in his recent video (i can only recommend you watch it, really nice talk about techs atm).

    • @theorangegriffin7531
      @theorangegriffin7531  6 месяцев назад +1

      You can hold it for your turn for when they use Princess or Garunix to resummon, or you can crow the other Fire-King monster in GY if there's only 1 when they summon out Garunix if they decide to pop Kirin, as Kirin needs to summon a Fire-King monster in the GY aside fromi Kirin.
      You can also use it on their turn on Flamberge's target to S/T (usually IP), or you can use it on a level 1 fire if Flamberge uses it's effect to resummon 2, and there are exactly 2 in grave.
