I was the last lead guitar player she was with here in Atlanta before she died. She played with our church new Citadel of Hope for several months before she had a stroke. She was such an awesome talent for God.
Last year, during the pandemic, I decided to google what Lacretia Campbell was singing only to find out that she passed away in 2016. I was totally taken aback, totally in shock, totally in tears. I did not hear of her passing…maybe because that was the same year that my mother died. I never got a chance to see her minister in person, but through the Internet she ministered to me. Her voice was so angelic pure and sweet, and her range would give me goosebumps. There will never be another Lacretia Campbell. I thank God for blessing us with her.
This is an absolute beauty. Thank you Pastor for this wonderful tribute to one of the greatest female vocalist in gospel history. You will be missed Lecresia.
Pastor Ellison, this was very gracious and beautiful. May God continue to heal your heart both now and forevermore. She is in His safety. Again, touching.
If you pay attention to the lyrics to Somewhere Around The Throne she speaks of her passing. I can't remember if it's in the first or second verse, but it's there. She was ready when God touched her. He gave her time to her life in order after her stroke and she did exactly that. God always know what He's doing and why whether we understand, accept it or not. In time we will. What a joy and gift she was to so many and a rare gifted legacy she continues to have. Her music will 4ever speak to my soul as she minister to my my life.
I still come here to see my Muh.. She was so amazing. She visited us in Phoenix so very often and we returned the favor in ALWAYS supporting her! She will always be a role model and her teachings on how to use my vocal range will never be forgotten! I love you Muh!!💋💋💋
