idk dude, I just watched dreamhack finals last week and it was still as great as I remember pro sc2 being 8-10 years ago... who cares how big or small the fanbase still is, the game just translates amazingly to esports, I had a blast watching and probably will get back into it... I just wish hots would've never been canceled by blizz :(

It's 2019 now and I miss 2010 when WOL and the SC was so hype. Even reading the comments that say "5 years ago" of how they made it to diamond or masters brings a tear to my eye. I hope that one day a true RTS will take center stage again...
I don't think RTS will take place again. Now is strong tendency for games that don't require so much time to learn to start playing. Problem with RTS that they relatively hard.
I think if SC3, or a different quality RTS came out a lot of new players would start. The thing is, it seems to me that it's less players refused to play RTS games so much as companies just stopped making them. It was sorta like Blizzard made such a good one no other companies wanted to compete with it, and then blizzard went to shit, so here we are.

Oh god, the memories from starcraft, the love that TSL gave us, IdrA early GGing vs MMA, huk's hallucinations, the best memories I've had from esports, thank you Temp0 for reminding me that starcraft is a passion, most of my friends moved on to play League or other games but I remained loving this beautiful game even after I retired a long time ago I kept coming back just to watch more and more of it. Interestingly enough a few weeks ago I got invited to an event to do my first SC2 casting ever, hadn't played in a long time, didn't know much of the meta nor the new maps but the last game (between 2 NA grandmasters) made me remember why this game is awesome, I lost my voice on the last engage on that final game... I love this game, I love this passion.

Remember the 1st time you killed an opponent with landed vikings? Stopped a baneling bust with a single ghost (before snipe got nerfed)? Sandwiched an army between two nukes? Got broodlord-contained by your friend on an island map? I really hope that Blizzard brings us some cool new units that interact in ways like this in Legacy of the Void.

We made some friends at a small tournament, and we still play a lot with them today (not sc2 :( ). Back in those days, starcraft was the most viewed game on twitch, no Hearthstone, LoL, DotA or COD. I still remember, when me and my friends made a small LAN, where we just played 1v1 ladder and gave ourselfes tips and so on .. :) Today, they are all playing LoL or some different shit (i played lol by myself way to much -.-). Well, for me, Starcraft will be my favorite game of all time, because i played it in the best time of my life, I want these times back... Not as big as it used to be true but far from dead sure loosing TB and Geoff Day9 and husky kind of hurt the scene but still not dead i would say even loosing IdrA hurt the scene he made a lot of PR for the game as well but high skill capped RTS games always been a Nish some love it and those who do will never stop playing them and some hate it since its hard to get into and takes a lot of time hell i still play red alert and BW (not remastered version)

I started in Bronze, after many years I finaly reached Masters and even played in Grandmasters Tournament (automated tournament). I never imagined I could actually become good at this game. I beat Crank, Lilbow and some Barcodes as well. I'll eventually make it to GM too. SC2 made me into a less toxic and chill player, made me laugh and cry and has become a part of who I am (for my friends I'm "that SC2 dude ^^). Thank you for this song, thank you all for being part of this awesome community and thank you all for staying with this amazing game. We've all had our epic journey. Stay frosty boys, see you in SC3

Not as big as it used to be true but far from dead sure loosing TB and Geoff Day9 and husky kind of hurt the scene but still not dead i would say even loosing IdrA hurt the scene he made a lot of PR for the game as well but high skill capped RTS games always been a Nish some love it and those who do will never stop playing them and some hate it since its hard to get into and takes a lot of time hell i still play red alert and BW (not remastered version)

yeah u are 100% right zerg is imbalanced and easy so why dont you go and defeat Serral? if zerg is so imbalanced and "easy" anyone should be able to do it right? every one made the same arguments as you have its not predictable at all and i would say it is quite balanced now with the zerg nerf

I started in Bronze, after many years I finaly reached Masters and even played in Grandmasters Tournament (automated tournament). I never imagined I could actually become good at this game. I beat Crank, Lilbow and some Barcodes as well. I'll eventually make it to GM too. SC2 made me into a less toxic and chill player, made me laugh and cry and has become a part of who I am (for my friends I'm "that SC2 dude ^^). Thank you for this song, thank you all for being part of this awesome community and thank you all for staying with this amazing game. We've all had our epic journey. Stay frosty boys, see you in SC3

First time listening to this! I couldn't play StarCraft 2 before cuz of my scrappy pc but I always watched the pro matches since 2014.. In 2020, I pick up the game and started playing.. Honestly I think if they just returned support for sc2 it would be just as good, game is virtually perfect as is but they could add features for more casual players or advertise tournaments directly in the game like cs go or something, maybe continue the battlepass system.
