The vocals were excellent. Extremely well tracked. The kind of vocals I'd hope to receive, but rarely do if the artist has done the tracking. Top job all round, from both you and Austin.
Hey I have a question did you processed your vocals before sending it to Austin? If yes what did you do in the vocal processing of your vocals and what did you do on the vocal processing of each of vocal layers that you've created
This is officially one of my favorite videos now. Thanks so much for sharing your workflow and how and WHY you make production decisions with vocal arrangement. This was all super duper helpful, thanks so much Austin for constantly giving aspiring music-makers quality content! 💯
good vid....can you do a tutorial on a song with just one vocal, and then how you copy it and the process in getting a big harmony sound like this using vsts and melodyne ...im sure theres loads that will find this great
Austin Hull! My most favourite producer and teacher! Please make a tutorial on song sections and transition to make the sections more connected 🙏. That's where i get stuck alot. Thank you so much for creating such amazing videos. Just bought MPM Music production course and it's the best thing ever! Can't thank you enough for your help to all of us(all the music producers and lovers). Love from India❤️🇮🇳
Hey Austin! First of all thank you so much for your videos, this one was another gem! I come from an acoustic Singer/Songwriter Background so mainly Guitar+Vocal Arrangements and I'm trying to get more into Pop music, since it really starts to resonate with me more. The thing is, these huge and dense arrangements are a bit overwhelming. I know, practice is king, but would it be possible to make a video with tips for people like me, coming from this acoustic background on how to flesh out our songs more and how to not get overwhelmed by the plethora of instruments/layers used in Pop songs? Thank you so much for all your efforts! :)
Such good advice as always. Austin rules! 👏🏻🚀💥 Nice that I can go find all these past gems on RUclips when I need them. Gonna send to my son who does a lot of remote production. ❤
Amazing video Austin. Just wondering if you have a tutorial explaining the processing and eq of each double and harmony etc? This video is top quality. Thankyou!
Anybody have any tips on making single track vocals not sound so lackluster in comparison to a big layered chorus? After a big chorus with multiple layers and harmonies, my single tracked verse vocal seems so unimpressive, do I need more compression?
Very good. If i am not mistaken you didn't talk about the panning of the artificial low take and of the ad libs / delay throws. How would you pan those?
how much do you change the mix from the lead to unison layers mate? Do you mess with the EQ? Maintain Delay and Reverb settings? Or does that clog up the stereo field too much?
This sounds killer! (as always) but I have to know - what is this Lany Double, why is it stereo, and what's the difference between that and the hard L-R doubles in verse1B?
Great vid. Maybe I missed it, but when you do doubles, do you do 1 double and duplicate it for left and right? Or do one for left, and another one for right?
hello austin, love your videos, this is real pro sound quality. id like you to make a vocal prod tutorial of latin artist rauw alejandro, if you listen to him youll see his vocal prod is at least so particular, love your content, thanks for showing your knowledge to us 🔥🔥🔥
Can you make a video on how to properly mix instruments in an instrumental before adding the vocals? (Like where the drums, bass, synths, etc should sit) Everything just gets buried and hidden in the mix , and theres not really any videos on it
very informative and high quality video, thank you Austin for sharing! could you please give some tips on how to mix the vocal layers? Is the effects chain the same as the lead vocal?
Austin I have a video suggestion about how max martin and other top producers produce, like how is it possible that they "create" all those hooks. I heard that some of them listen to old music and sample a lot from them.
first video of yours I've ever seen, going to track the first pop vocalist I've ever tracked in a couple of months, this was full of useful information thank you. subscribed edit: I forgot to add in with that, you're right that vocalist absolutely fucking crushed it. super talented kid
Great tips! Thanks for a great video. For my own taste I would use the harms and doubles a little more sparesome to get more dynamics and let the voice come through some more
Hey Austin, big fan, thanks for all the great tips and tricks. Question for you. The Lany vocal track in this session. Is it a bounce of 2 unison L and R takes?
Hugely helpful video! Been taking notes! Do you cover how loud you mix the hard panned triple lead tracks in relation to the center lead track in any of your videos?
Thank a lot for showing this ! When I triple track I have a lot of issue with the panned double even with editing, how do you get this tight sounding vocal in every layer ?
Austin, quick question... Firstly, thanks for putting this up, I do this type of work all the time, but the writing and color formatting you use is really helpful to speed up workflow. My question is, is the color coded key the same for each production? Or do you apply a unique one each time? Or maybe you have a template color key that's got more possibilities? I just ask, cause that question kept popping up in the back of my head while watching you explain things. I copied your color key to a google docs template, but kept asking myself what color to use for strict doubles? (i.e. lead vox and 1 dub) I kept looking at the blue and purple layers and wondering if those would apply in that case, or if you had another color designation in that scenario. Anyhow, Thanks again, sorry for the long winded question.
Feel free to use whatever color key works for your song! I will change mine if I have vocal parts that aren't in a typical vocal production. Maybe if I need oohs and ahhs over a phrase I'll use a bright green highlight, or if I want gang vocals on a word I'll highlight it orange, etc. Feel free to lay out your vocal guide however you and the artist see fit!
Were do I find people like you for my productions? I have tried online mix and master sites and really i need pros to get my work to a pro level. I have the money, just not the right contacts and industry pro to help and guide. Any help is appreciated..thx
You said Nick wanted to do a "LANY style double" (in the "Double tracked for effect" part.) It's unclear what this is a reference to... (is LANY a pop artist?) or what processing you used for this double.
this spotify-style of industry POP, is really awful. Sonn this camming criminal network Spotify will be dead ! adn we can start hear real music again .
Tracked from an SM7B in my apartment :) SICK video I am so honored!
Sick vocals man. and a good song!
A mf icon in the building
The vocals were excellent. Extremely well tracked. The kind of vocals I'd hope to receive, but rarely do if the artist has done the tracking. Top job all round, from both you and Austin.
Great Song

These tutorials are so good. I love how they also provide insight into the norms of the recording process in a professional setting.
12:00 WHEEEEEWWWWWW Love hearing layers without the music so you can really get the FEEL of they compliment each other
This is officially one of my favorite videos now. Thanks so much for sharing your workflow and how and WHY you make production decisions with vocal arrangement. This was all super duper helpful, thanks so much Austin for constantly giving aspiring music-makers quality content! 💯
Going back to these videos to keep myself in check & make sure I'm using all this information!
The man with the proper work etiquette!
So helpful for any genre, not just pop. Thanks for the tutorial!

Halfway thru this already so informative
Austin, your channel is SO kick ass, dude! Possibly the #1 channel on producing. You'd have no prob getting some major sponsors if you don't already!
Such good advice as always. Austin rules! 👏🏻🚀💥 Nice that I can go find all these past gems on RUclips when I need them. Gonna send to my son who does a lot of remote production. ❤
Hands down my favorite yt channel.
hey, to create the LANY DOUBLE track, what u hace use? waves doubler, recording L AND R or what? only for the LANY DOUBLE track!
Without doubt the best production channel ever
why you make vocal track as stereo?
Best production channel on RUclips 🖤
A very useful video. Thanks for sharing Austin. You both did a great job.
Thanks homie! Helpful
Amazing video Austin. Just wondering if you have a tutorial explaining the processing and eq of each double and harmony etc? This video is top quality. Thankyou!
have you a video of how you do the vocals with the delays reverbs etcetera, that you can hear immediately in the verse/choruses?
This is gold! Thanks!
Awesome video bro! Sounds great my friend! Really appreciate you dropping this knowledge!!!
Man ... Could you do a video on drum, vocal and melody bus processing and mixbus processing... That would be awesome
Helpful as always, thank you, Austin
Very professional voice and production . Great job you guys

The best channel I have just discovered wow wow 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥♥️♥️
*your beats and mixing are on next level* ♥
Very good. If i am not mistaken you didn't talk about the panning of the artificial low take and of the ad libs / delay throws. How would you pan those?
Love your videos, sooo helpful.👍
How many choruses are these songs using?
how much do you change the mix from the lead to unison layers mate? Do you mess with the EQ? Maintain Delay and Reverb settings? Or does that clog up the stereo field too much?
Can you please make tutorial of this song where instrument and synth should be in the mix. And how to set piano and pad in the mix? Mixing
austin great arrangement
i adore your track
i really love you way you work on arrangement
This vid is straight gold. Thank you brotha.
SOOOO so helpful 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 Sounds incredible ❤
Very helpful ideas. Thanks!
You are the best, Austin!
This sounds killer! (as always) but I have to know - what is this Lany Double, why is it stereo, and what's the difference between that and the hard L-R doubles in verse1B?
Great track and vocal arrangement! Thanks so much!
Great vid. Maybe I missed it, but when you do doubles, do you do 1 double and duplicate it for left and right? Or do one for left, and another one for right?
No. Track 3 separate times. 1 for center, 1 for left, and 1 for right!
insanely helpful!
hello austin, love your videos, this is real pro sound quality.
id like you to make a vocal prod tutorial of latin artist rauw alejandro, if you listen to him youll see his vocal prod is at least so particular, love your content, thanks for showing your knowledge to us

Yes true can you please make tutorial of this song from starting where the instrument and synth should be in the mix
To be honest. I am still tripping on the delay+verb effect on vocals especially during recording. Great tutorial.
Austin make more layering vocal video. I suck in this area need help. Different examples.
Super cool video, great insight on arrangement!
very informative and high quality video, thank you Austin for sharing! could you please give some tips on how to mix the vocal layers? Is the effects chain the same as the lead vocal?
Really useful tips in here. Glad I watched.
How did you make that LANY double Austin? Would love to know that :)
Austin I have a video suggestion about how max martin and other top producers produce, like how is it possible that they "create" all those hooks. I heard that some of them listen to old music and sample a lot from them.

edit: I forgot to add in with that, you're right that vocalist absolutely fucking crushed it. super talented kid
i am still learning here .tnq austin
Are the vocals re-timed / quantized to sync perfectly? Or is it purely an amazing natural vocal performance?
He just crushed it! But if I was gonna sync them, it’s 3 clicks in Cubase and it’s done.
What exactly is this "lany-style"-dubble of the main Vocal? Is this just an alternative Layer with an Stereoeffect on it??
Pretty much!
@@MakePopMusic thanks so much! Great work!

Hey Austin, big fan, thanks for all the great tips and tricks. Question for you. The Lany vocal track in this session. Is it a bounce of 2 unison L and R takes?
Nope. Mono vocal being sent through a doubler!
Hugely helpful video! Been taking notes! Do you cover how loud you mix the hard panned triple lead tracks in relation to the center lead track in any of your videos?
Could you do a production video on Dawn Golden. Thanks for the consideration.
Great video! What part of Florida you in? I’m near Gainesville
Thank a lot for showing this !
When I triple track I have a lot of issue with the panned double even with editing, how do you get this tight sounding vocal in every layer ?
Just tracking it really tight. if it's messy you can always use Auto Align in Cubase or Vocalign!
Vocals amazing …producing amazing 👏🏼🙌🏼🔥
Amazing. Thank you so much.
Sounds great!!!! Good tips!!!
Amazing tutorials keep up the good work! 🖤
Thanks for the video!
thanks always !
Thanks for the video! What microphone was the singer using?
Good ole Sm7b
@@MakePopMusic thank you!
Please add Korean subtitles.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

You said Nick wanted to do a "LANY style double" (in the "Double tracked for effect" part.) It's unclear what this is a reference to... (is LANY a pop artist?) or what processing you used for this double.
LANY is a pop artist that commonly does these “wide apparent doubles” in their music 😁
thx was wondering the same
@@MakePopMusic Thanks Austin!
💥💥👍🏽
Why is some of em Stereo takes and some Mono?
I keep some vocals on stereo channels in case I want to use stereo fx such as reverb, delay, or modulation as an insert in the mixing process.
@@MakePopMusic There is definitely much i dont know. So i cannot use reverb delay, as insert in mono track? Thats why sends are used?
