Jomtien is by far one to the best places in Thailand for a retired life. Loved the aminities offered in all the complexes. The view from all the condos is unbeatable.
All very nice condos, I’ve been staying in View Talay 2 much older but I still prefer it to those you showed, you get more space for less money. Also I’ve never needed to use the Aircon if you choose one that doesn’t get direct sunlight and the swimming pools are much larger, your nearer to Pattaya and Foodland supermarket, it’s all personal choice of course, I’ve been here for 9 months and still happy with it for 10,000 a month!
I've seen those on FB and am considering them as well as Grand Ave. I was there in Dec 19 and will retire June of 2021. Maybe we'll be neighbors! I noticed Jometien is quieter but near the top of that area is still a short baht bus ride to the entertainment zone of south Pattaya. King David's restaurant near CCR condos is a great place to eat, lots of food, too much. Owner, Yoni is a great guy too. I would live closer to that area but every time I had to cross 3rd road, I was literally risking my life it was so busy.
Yes, View Talay 2 is great if you can manage to find a unit there in which the interior design and the furnishings are not absolutely hideous. Of course you could always just buy a unit and remodel it yourself from scratch I suppose but those units tend to be on the pricey side due to the fact that View Talay 2 is extremely popular with expats despite it being a very old building.
I really like how you post the price clearly as you begin your tour. Some vloggers casually mention the price, if at all, during the tour of the unit, forcing me to watch the entire tour when I would prefer to know the price up front to determine if i even want to see the entire tour. I liked that 30K condo. 30-50K condos and villas are my target range. I love those spacious balconies and private oceanview balconies. I enjoy being REALLY comfortable with the girlfriend outside, if you know what I mean.
During our trip, stayed 18 nights at the Cetus condo thru AirBnB. It was pretty nice, 55 square meters. After paying, was told in Thailand it’s illegal to rent condo less than 30 days, but nobody cares. In the morning I would buy food from the street vendors. At night walk to night bazaar. Overall, a nice quiet area.

It was at the Hideaway and he had a lot of friends there but he took the time to chat and pass on a lot of useful information. Hi Greeny, thank you for sharing such a detailed and useful video. I am thinking about retiring in Jomtien (a few years off yet but it's always good to have a plan/goal/dream) and your video has really helped. I would love to see more of your condo review videos. Keep up the good work. Cheers! Ozzy
It's Cetus for the win for me. I like at least 50 square meters and I like the peep show shower. I think 50 square meters is a firm cutoff for me. I'd rather stay in an older development without the amenities if that's what it meant.
All nice places. But like you, I believe that ample counter space in the bathroom is an ABSOLUTE must. Especially if you plan on staying over a few days. No counter space, just forget it. Find another apartment.
That 1st Aeras Unit was badass. You cannot beat that view! I only wish it had the euro style built in oven. Like i have at Amari Residence on Pratumnak. Thank you for the nice videos.
Great Video. I can see myself staying in the first 2 condos. What I am looking for . This still would cheaper than booking on Expedia for a hotel room. Would like to stay 3 months. Not sure what the Thai Visa would give me if I have everything paid for in advance after the Covid.

Hi Greeny. I am really loving your videos. I have just compared and contrasted the Riveria Jomtien and Grand Avenue Pattaya. I have always felt that a wonderful sea view is a priority (something which you had at the Riviera and it was AWESOME). I was wondering if the sea view thing eventually dies off in terms of a priority? For you it must have, since you moved to Grand Avenue pool view.
It's a case of shopping around I have a 80 Sq mtr condo in prattanak 12000bt , no see view however. That generally means your condo is roasting hot in the day time
The bathroom in the first condo was nice but they need more couterspace. They should have put a counter that raises and lowers above the toilet. It's not perfect but would be better.
I am just seeing this video and I’ve always wanted to go to Thailand. I planned on going sometime next year for a month and the first condo you showed the AERES seemed perfect. Are they still offering monthly rentals?
Great video, just the market I've been looking at. That 270 degree view on the Riviera infinity pool is spectacular. Does anyone know if Jomtien Beach is actually any good for swimming?
I’m not sure. I just moved down to the sattahip bang Sare area for just that reason. The water if that nicer blue color and is supposedly cleaner for swimming
Jomtien is much much better than Pattaya all round. That is if youre over 50 snd not into partying drinking & girls every day. Very calm pleasant and sedate I love it. Seems less aggresive too. A few questions for you if you wouldn't mind... So the pools are open right now in these condos? I've heard a lot of places have closed their pools and I don't want to come over there if that's the case right now. Did you work with any realtor type person to view condos or did you just show up to the properties yourself and ask to see what they have available? TIA
