I am so happy you are working on this project. This car camper has my interest completely. I am just interested how this was ever built and why. This one of a kind. Can't wait to see the next step on the project. Just to let you know, I didn't get a notification on this video tonight.
What's weird is that there are more of them. Last year I saw one in Homestead, Fl on it's way back to the Tampa area, broken down. We spoke with the guys, was up close to it. It was a 1959, same colors, same camper top, thought it was this one, but the front bumper had those parking lights out at the edge of the bumper, so somebody back when decided to make a few campers.
Thanks for letting me know Ocean Joe. This is a first seeing one up close. I am glad to hear there are more of them. I am just wanting to learn more about them. How they were done and why.😂❤
Hi!, I'm not a car guy but what I like about your video's is how you and your father work together without getting angry with each other. It's something I wish I had more of growing up in my life. It's a pleasure to watch your interactions together as you both come together to restore an old vehicle!!! Thank you for demonstrating what a father and son team can do... without anger!

It is smaller and a bit lighter but it has a cast iron transmission case that most likely makes up the difference! That motor needs a complete rebuild and most likely the transmission too. If the diesel is a bit too tall, a hood scoop could solve that.
Guys, I love this camper project. I think that knowing what you have done on past projects, you can make this work. I am looking forward to watching the progress on this. Keep it coming guys.

I am building a 31' Prowler travel trailer over to live in so am pretty familiar with all the camper problems as I have all of them too but I am also a big fan of 60-62 Lincolns especially those canted headlights. That's real style. And the interior was luxury combined with the look of the future so I'm in favor of both ends of this project. I recommend Advantech to replace that floor. Durable and guaranteed. The 4BT was even used in school busses. Had a bus 🚌 in high school that had one set at 180 hp mated to a Allison transmission. That thing could scoot and used a lot less fuel than the other busses in their fleet. Great engines!😊

I think the biggest huddle will actually be mounting a Radiator with the Diesel. If you can get the transmission more under the car it looks like it should fit in that engine bay like a glove. the trick will be A/C rigging the camper so you guys can survive in the Texas heat while styling in that Vintage 50's Retro Camper.
First is that I think it’s awesome the relationship you and your dad have working together. Let’s say that once the diesel motor is put in, the question I have is will the rear end hold up to the power of the new one? Love y’all. Have a wonderful and blessed week. Stay hydrated and God Bless 57:40
So pleased to see you guys progressing with this one. I'd love to see you make a full resto project out of this unique machine rather than just a "get it running' quickie.
So glad to see this beast with potential life, pretty unique, would be so happy to see the original engine installed ( matching #'s and all that), dunno if I like the idea of a diesel swap (as I think it being a camper unit it'd end up smelling like a fishboat/semi thing). About as aerodynamic as a brick, if a man were to think about a rebuild on the camper part, and its not going to be properly restored, one might consider ripping everything from the deck up and either find another, more modern/rounded thing, and/or fabricating a 'somethin'' special camper, this has so much potential but, as we all know, how much time and money do you want to spend? (Bad Chad would have a field day with that one lol) Love watching ya'll working on things like this, but you always make me miss my dad. Cheers from your fans in BC Can.!
I think the 12 valve is gonna be awesome for this thing. I think the torque from the diesel is going to be a huge benefit to it! Honestly, if you ended up having to go the 430 route, it feels like you'd just be better off trying to find another 430 in better condition instead of trying to rebuild the one you've got because it just looks so far gone. But man, I cannot wait to see this thing all fixed up. I've never seen anything quite like it and it looks so freakin' cool.
New subbie here - love the super smooth camera work, sound quality, and most of all the super professional editing I feel like I'm watching a TV production! Keep up the great work and honestly this camper is a beaut, can't wait to see her on the road again!
I love that year Lincoln my father had one when I was young it was great. That 430 had so much guts it would peg the spedo at half pedal. it got good gas mileage too. MY uncle had the car first and took it to Montana. I like that you are trying to save it. I hope you can get that motor in it, My brother put a 1990 diesel in his 2000 dodge truck and that took a while too they were totally different had to change the pan but could not find one so he made one. It will be a wonderful car when you get done.
Thanks for revisiting this old vehicle. I've been checking back daily since your last video on it hoping y'all were going to save her. There's not another one on the road and y'all can make this one super cool with that Kraven Kustom style.
I look forward to all the hiccups that might appear, that you can work through to make this project work! That Cummins purrs as it should, so with a fresh transmission, I have no doubts that the camper will haul with no issues with the power of the diesel. The mounts for the engine, looks like some measuring and welding will be needed, so if you're up to it, let's get 'er done!
Western Champlin put a 12 valve Cummings into a 2017 Mustang I think you should be able to put one into a 60 Lincoln. You might even watch his videos to see some of what he went through. For rebuilding the camper watch Sleeperdude, he and his family rebuilt a camper.
Me and my grandpa started working on a 1980 Jeep cj7 here in Lufkin Texas, recently found your channel and I’m hooked. It’s cool to find a RUclipsr who lives so close and experiences this heat too. 😂
Man o man, I’m excited to see y’all are squeezing the trigger on this! I’m rebuilding an ole 68’ Yellowstone Cavalier pull-behind camper that is most likely a very similar construction as the back of this ole Lincoln. I really hope y’all get er on the road and camp in this time capsule !!
You've made a good bit of progress getting both engines and transmissions pulled. Not to mention a new garage door! I'm betting on the cummins fitting. 100%. Great Video folks>
I know I keep coming to you with prayer request, but I know you and your people will pray. My grandson, 29 has suffered from groin pain for the last few months. Been to ER numerous times. They finally decided he has necrotizing bone. Which means the bone is dying. It was prevented from getting blood supply when he was injured. They said there is no cure, but we know that God can cure. So I ask you again, Please pray for Kyle. Thank you so much and God bless you all.
The more you look at it the cooler it is. It's just the camper part that's going to be a big undertaking. As you probably have to be half carpenter half mechanic.
Structure wise, that camper is probably trash and not structurally sound. Those walls have thin pieces of wood that rot into dust when repeatedly exposed to water. I can't imagine that shell being saved the way it looks inside.
@@cadiman56 probably is aluminum siding but the internal structure between the shell and paneling is usually small pieces of wood. That interior is shot from a lot of water damage so I can only imagine what it looks like behind the paneling. I wanted to buy and restore an old travel trailer once but started watching videos and saw it was way over my skill level if the inside walls were shot. I've seen a video of a guy pulling bottom trim from the outside of a travel trailer and the inside of the wall came out in a pile of wood dust. It was that moment I decided I'd have to pass on that. Much like an old house, you don't know what you're getting into until you start opening walls.
I did a swap Buick v6 into ford courier, had a similar problem with the pan fitting. I grafted the two pans together, Buick pan rail with courier deep part. Used both pickup tubes to make a new pickup tube that worked properly. Ran that pickup for years. It's possible someone may make a pan that would fit but grafting them together you'll have a sure fit that clears your cross member.
Those old dodge diesel are indestructible. I’m curious to see how this will pan out, fitting wise into the camper. Cool factor of this build is a 10 🤪🤪🤪
I’m really excited about this build and can’t wait for more of this. I watched it for a second time my friends. Look at Copart for a wreck trailer you could take all components out and put them in your camper or just buy a used camper and swap them. Which ever way you go I can’t wait.
I am really hoping that the Cummins diesel will fit in the Lincoln Camper. I think that the diesel will better serve the car in terms of pulling all that weight down the road. It will be interesting to see if it is possible to do it, but if anybody can do it, you guys can. I'm pulling for you to make it work!
Guy's, I'd like so much to see this old thing restored. I hope you're still working towards at least making it road worthy and haven't given up on it. I mean, I know she's in pretty rough shape and it's probably going to take a considerable amount of money to get even close to what she used to be, but man this thing is really unique and deserves to be put back on the road again.
The engine actually sounded good. It was probably parked due to the transmission being shot. You never know till you try but doing a Cummins swap on the Continental might work. I was all for rebuilding the original engine but with the running Cummins I say go for it. The cross member can be modified if need be to make room for the diesel oil pan. Plus, you get an overdrive transmission using the diesel.
Excellent video RESTORE Crew Wyatt :) , Lance :) , Christine :) also yes that nice Cummings 5.9 litre 6 cylinder Turbo type , also shame transmission needs rebuilt but when get rebuilt running super , 430 V8 to bad need big rebuilt too and Transmission too but save for another project in future to also ! But turn in 1976 to hospital van also were wife work at plus job in ! Then 1984 resold at Auction sale Bill bought also turn in Camper 2 person style, in 1985 Bill change motor to 1976 Perkins Desiel motor from 500 Massey Ferguson Combine also hook some gauges too need plus fuel tank extra , 2 - 12 volt batteries with 100 Amp Alternator of Mopar plus 12 volt Negative ground , 1975 Dodge 3 ton stake Creeper 4speed Overdrive with Bow Low First gear on floor shifter , Hydraulic clutch and put 390 rear end gears ! Yes drive it back in 2005 year to my cousin Nancey family camp site family ran for year! Also tell was loud van on exhaust and ran super with my cousin Glenn had at time to ! But hope guy use Dodge drive shaft and axle on this Lincoln camper vehicle too ! Also on exhaust may want use a Silencer tube on exhaust tone sound too for by law in your region! Silencer tube weld on exhaust pipe and use Silencer from GM Chevrolet Impala on V6 of 3.4 litre or 3.8 litre V6 motors style on single exhaust too!
Nice job on getting the motor out of the camper. Getting the other motor to fit in the camper and running even sweeter than ever. Keep up the great work you guys. Okay.
Just so you know, if you pull the rad , the top of the rad saddle is removable and then the grill . Motor and transmission comes straight out . Been there done that. Keep up the good work!
Much respect to you guys. This project is beyond Daunting, yet I believe in your conviction to do it!

RUclipsr’s - fixing up old car that no one else will. This thing is going to be awesome. That Cummins sounds healthy too. Really hope it fits
RESTORE CREW this project reminded of my late one Senoir Bill cousin did to 1975 Dodge D350 Extended Conversion van was from factory a 12 passenger with gas 360 V8 motor 2 barrel carb with hand choke cable knob in dash also Column Shifter Manual transmission 3 in tree Lol and 411 rear gears plus power steering and brakes too!

As someone who has stuck diesels into things that shouldn't have had diesels, I can't wait to see how you guys get this done!

Amazing project good luck finishing it, look forward to the next video.
Just so you know, if you pull the rad , the top of the rad saddle is removable and then the grill . Motor and transmission comes straight out . Been there done that. Keep up the good work!
