I am so happy you are working on this project. This car camper has my interest completely. I am just interested how this was ever built and why. This one of a kind. Can't wait to see the next step on the project. Just to let you know, I didn't get a notification on this video tonight.
What's weird is that there are more of them. Last year I saw one in Homestead, Fl on it's way back to the Tampa area, broken down. We spoke with the guys, was up close to it. It was a 1959, same colors, same camper top, thought it was this one, but the front bumper had those parking lights out at the edge of the bumper, so somebody back when decided to make a few campers.
Thanks for letting me know Ocean Joe. This is a first seeing one up close. I am glad to hear there are more of them. I am just wanting to learn more about them. How they were done and why.😂❤
Its probably not the same transmission as in my '05 Hemi Dodge but, my reverse did the same thing at 25K miles and rather than rebuilding the tranny, Dodge just replaced the entire thing. They even had to order a 2nd one because when the 1st one arrived it had been dropped and an external part was bent. Rather than just change that part they felt another tranny would be safer to get. I remember when I was a little kid those Continental front ends scared the heck out of me. They looked like monster eyes and the big bullet bumper guards didn't help but, now I think they are really cool looking cars. Hopefully you guys can get it on the road again.
Jam that Cummins in that Lincoln!! Love the idea❤️clean up the interior, fix up the camper, put that thing back on the road and make something damn cool! Really excited to see a longer project being tackled
Hi!, I'm not a car guy but what I like about your video's is how you and your father work together without getting angry with each other. It's something I wish I had more of growing up in my life. It's a pleasure to watch your interactions together as you both come together to restore an old vehicle!!! Thank you for demonstrating what a father and son team can do... without anger!
Guys, I love this camper project. I think that knowing what you have done on past projects, you can make this work. I am looking forward to watching the progress on this. Keep it coming guys.
I am building a 31' Prowler travel trailer over to live in so am pretty familiar with all the camper problems as I have all of them too but I am also a big fan of 60-62 Lincolns especially those canted headlights. That's real style. And the interior was luxury combined with the look of the future so I'm in favor of both ends of this project. I recommend Advantech to replace that floor. Durable and guaranteed. Will watch episode 2. Good luck, you'll need it.
I've watched a ton of videos with a ton of old Rv's and I've never seen anything like this one ! And I've got to say that this is hands down the coolest I've ever seen. I sure hope you bring it totally back to life, would be Awesome to see that ! Thanks for sharing this !!
You have a good rapport with one another.... very respectful... Father, son.... Son, father. A pleasure to watch. And your editing is very professional.
First is that I think it’s awesome the relationship you and your dad have working together. Let’s say that once the diesel motor is put in, the question I have is will the rear end hold up to the power of the new one? Love y’all. Have a wonderful and blessed week. Stay hydrated and God Bless 57:40
Great video folks, very enjoyable, all the best with getting the transmission rebuilt and getting the two back together and put back in without too many problems, God bless 👍👍👍
Alright alright you fellas earned ya another subscription because I just gotta see this project move forward and ofcourse I like the pink crocks too! 😂
So glad to see this beast with potential life, pretty unique, would be so happy to see the original engine installed ( matching #'s and all that), dunno if I like the idea of a diesel swap (as I think it being a camper unit it'd end up smelling like a fishboat/semi thing). About as aerodynamic as a brick, if a man were to think about a rebuild on the camper part, and its not going to be properly restored, one might consider ripping everything from the deck up and either find another, more modern/rounded thing, and/or fabricating a 'somethin'' special camper, this has so much potential but, as we all know, how much time and money do you want to spend? (Bad Chad would have a field day with that one lol) Love watching ya'll working on things like this, but you always make me miss my dad. Cheers from your fans in BC Can.!
Flip the Oil Pan around to give you the clearances that you may need , I’ve played with the 4BTs and have a 6BT your able to flip exhaust and oil pans, don’t lose the linkages. Linkages are hard to find and expensive, I’ve made my own linkages , with your craftsmanship you’ll have no problems. Great project.
The 4BT was even used in school busses. Had a bus 🚌 in high school that had one set at 180 hp mated to a Allison transmission. That thing could scoot and used a lot less fuel than the other busses in their fleet. Great engines!😊
I am always interested in seeing what people say can't be done Done . Do you have a video on the red Mustang ?. As always I liked and shared. All my very best.
Its going to be a one of a kind vehicle just like all the others you guys done putting your touch on them. Cant wait to see the ending result guys. You both amazing and awesome job on everything you guys do. God Bless the both of you.
New subbie here - love the super smooth camera work, sound quality, and most of all the super professional editing I feel like I'm watching a TV production! Keep up the great work and honestly this camper is a beaut, can't wait to see her on the road again!
When you guys decide to follow threw with vehicles, it helps motivate me to push forward with mine because I get a chance to learn and see things I wouldnt on a day to day basis
I think the 12 valve is gonna be awesome for this thing. I think the torque from the diesel is going to be a huge benefit to it! Honestly, if you ended up having to go the 430 route, it feels like you'd just be better off trying to find another 430 in better condition instead of trying to rebuild the one you've got because it just looks so far gone. But man, I cannot wait to see this thing all fixed up. I've never seen anything quite like it and it looks so freakin' cool.
Been coming across your videos for a while now and very entertaining, but this one made me subscribe. Y’all do awesome work and with the unique factor of that camper/car u made the right choice with the swap. Will definitely be along for the ride! Looking forward to seeing more.
Man o man, I’m excited to see y’all are squeezing the trigger on this! I’m rebuilding an ole 68’ Yellowstone Cavalier pull-behind camper that is most likely a very similar construction as the back of this ole Lincoln. I really hope y’all get er on the road and camp in this time capsule !!
Thanks for revisiting this old vehicle. I've been checking back daily since your last video on it hoping y'all were going to save her. There's not another one on the road and y'all can make this one super cool with that Kraven Kustom style.
Haven't heard from you guys lately are you on part three.. Just wonder if you're still working on the motor home.. Did you get the diesel engine in it.. Just looking for some new videos.. Like the videos keep up the good wor. Just wondering if you're on part three or part four.. Thanks
Man, this camper would be so epic once running and rebuilt and painted.... I wish I had time for a project like this..... epic to see... Nice progress, nice to see it in the garage
I love that year Lincoln my father had one when I was young it was great. That 430 had so much guts it would peg the spedo at half pedal. it got good gas mileage too. MY uncle had the car first and took it to Montana. I like that you are trying to save it. I hope you can get that motor in it, My brother put a 1990 diesel in his 2000 dodge truck and that took a while too they were totally different had to change the pan but could not find one so he made one. It will be a wonderful car when you get done.
I think the biggest huddle will actually be mounting a Radiator with the Diesel. If you can get the transmission more under the car it looks like it should fit in that engine bay like a glove. the trick will be A/C rigging the camper so you guys can survive in the Texas heat while styling in that Vintage 50's Retro Camper.
Me and my grandpa started working on a 1980 Jeep cj7 here in Lufkin Texas, recently found your channel and I’m hooked. It’s cool to find a RUclipsr who lives so close and experiences this heat too. 😂
I’m really excited about this build and can’t wait for more of this. I watched it for a second time my friends. Look at Copart for a wreck trailer you could take all components out and put them in your camper or just buy a used camper and swap them. Which ever way you go I can’t wait.
Those old dodge diesel are indestructible. I’m curious to see how this will pan out, fitting wise into the camper. Cool factor of this build is a 10 🤪🤪🤪
Looking forward to this build on this old camper. Think it will work. Lot of extra wiring. You men always do a masterful job. On these old rigs.I enjoy your work. Thanks for sharing. 💯👍👊
I look forward to all the hiccups that might appear, that you can work through to make this project work! That Cummins purrs as it should, so with a fresh transmission, I have no doubts that the camper will haul with no issues with the power of the diesel. The mounts for the engine, looks like some measuring and welding will be needed, so if you're up to it, let's get 'er done!

very cool cant wait to see how you fit the Diesel in the Lincoln Camper, most if all the extra weight should be over the front suspension. back in the 60's everything was over built so I am not worried about the weight. as for the pan, there are a ton of 12 valve conversions I am sure you should be able to find a pan and pickup that will work for you.
Good luck fellas cause your gonna need it lol but I hope the Cummins & Box just slips in with no problems, it'll be cool to see the old girl rolling down the road again 🤞👍👍
The engine actually sounded good. It was probably parked due to the transmission being shot. You never know till you try but doing a Cummins swap on the Continental might work. I was all for rebuilding the original engine but with the running Cummins I say go for it. The cross member can be modified if need be to make room for the diesel oil pan. Plus, you get an overdrive transmission using the diesel.
I did a swap Buick v6 into ford courier, had a similar problem with the pan fitting. I grafted the two pans together, Buick pan rail with courier deep part. Used both pickup tubes to make a new pickup tube that worked properly. Ran that pickup for years. It's possible someone may make a pan that would fit but grafting them together you'll have a sure fit that clears your cross member.
I highly doubt that transmission is going to fit in the tunnel without some serious cutting. I have a running 430 out if my 59 lincoln as well if you wanted it
