I want to see Hopkins become a two time winner. He is the kind of actor who deserves to be in that tier, especially when plenty of non deserving actors have two oscars.
@@loepesci5996 Like Mahershala Ali, Hilary Swank and Recently René Zellweger. I don't think you should have two acting oscars unless its a very special long career of the highest calibre.

They need to release Minari later than in summer. That was exactly what hurt The Farewell and Eighth Grade. Only bigger films can come out early and still maintain the buzz to the end of the year.
Get Out was very succesful in the boxoffice tho. which helped it a lot. And we can agree that the movie had a huge following because of that...compared with A24 movies who are always very indie.
Gyllenhaal for Nightcrawler Garfield for The Social Network Sorkin for his Steve Jobs screenplay Parasite original score All big ones that come to mind imo
Cruisentom 1234 haven’t seen the others but he’s good in Split, wouldn’t have nominated him. There were like 10 fucking phenomenal male lead performances that year so I can’t say I’d put him in, though any other year he’d easily be in
Toni Collette in Hereditary, she deserved not only the nomination, but the Win. Her performance was one of the best of the decade. The same with Amy Adams in Arrival.
Olivia Colman can probably get in. Most of the women who played the daughter in the play got nominations for Best Actress. So, she's one of the most celebrated actresses around right now and if Hopkins is a shoo-in, he'll carry her in. Depending on how big of a lock he becomes it's easy to see it with 4 from Sony Pictures Classics: Picture, Actor, Actress (or Supporting) and Adapted Screenplay. Mulligan is so overdue for another nomination so it would be great to see her finally break into the race again .... but the movie may be too polarizing.
Is it really an Oscar-bait to make movies about wartime? The King's Speech was the last wartime movie to win Best Picture and it didn't even have scenes of real war. And the last movies about 20th century wars with war scenes, which won Best Picture, are actually the movies about the Vietnam War filmed just after Vietnam War (e.g. Deer Hunter, Platoon and Forrest Gump). I usually just assume that making movies about wartime is Oscarflop-bait, which had been proven for like billionth time several days ago.
@@Fran-mg1wq of course, some are nominated -- there are so many of them. but the main goal in terms of Oscar for movies in English language (up until this week the foreign language movies, if they dared to think about Oscar, would think of Best Foreign Picture, I don't think even Bong Joon Ho was thinking about Best Picture win) is the Best Picture win, not a nomination for Sound Mixing.
Omg Yoon yu jung is in the movie. She is an acclaimed top actress in Korea. She’s won many awards and is looked as one of Korea’s greatest actors. Won’t none of these movies get nominated since movies released in the last quarter of the year get consideration for nominations? Asian don’t get nominated for acting awards at the Oscars just saying.

I do hope Carey can get a nom for this one and ofc, I just have this feeling that Amy Adams will finally get her Oscar's for The Woman in the Window. I'm so excited for it. Tho I think Olivia Colman and Glenn Close will be in the Best Supporting Actress category. Still confused where to put Cate Blanchett (Nightmare Alley which will come out soon too) if she's going to be in the lead or the supporting. Just an absurdly early prediction tho.
I don’t see Anthony Hopkins winning if he’s the only nomination for The Father, honestly. Part of the reason Glenn Close didn’t win for The Wife was very likely because she was the only nomination for the film. Usually if the only nomination for the film wins, it’s because there’s no competition (Julianne Moore I’m Still Alice) or because the other nominees in the category are also their film’s only nomination (Rocketman). They’d have to campaign it in other categories for it to really have a chance imo.
I was really hoping the movie The Glorias would be good and Bette Midler could get a supporting actress nomination. I really would love to see her achieve EGOT status someday.
Really great video man, always delivering on the entertainment front. I really want to see The Father now, it might actually be my most anticipated movie after seeing this
Jesus Christ you deserve SO MUCH MORE SUSCRIBERS, DAMN.
Marko Stevanović I could see him getting 50k by the end of the year hopefully😁

Well it looks like A24's awards campaigns are now run by idiots so the strategy they have seems in line with that.
Get out kept the buzz. It almost won best picture and that’s a very low budget film
Get Out was very succesful in the boxoffice tho. which helped it a lot. And we can agree that the movie had a huge following because of that...compared with A24 movies who are always very indie.
I'd be wary of the A24 association - they have not come through (from my vantage point) for The Farewell.
I would love to see a "Biggest Oscar snubs in history" video...
Parasite should be on there. God so deserved best picture. Oh wait.
Gyllenhaal for Nightcrawler

this is really fun to watch after the oscars

I think most of us have Yeun in supporting (and with a good chance). I don't know anyone thinking he'd be in lead.
