On August 22, 2019, a few weeks after this video was posted, Bill passed away. He endured health problems for some years, but kept his shop open. It now stands empty. Bill first cut my hair in 1992, shortly after I moved here. I will miss him.
This is very sad news. It's amazing that Bill first cut your hair in 1992! He had an awesome old school community barbershop. We enjoyed spending a little bit of time with him and hearing some of his stories. He said he should write all the stories down that have happened over the years at the barbershop. Sending our condolences to you and all of Bill's family and friends ❤️ We will pin your comment. Thank you for letting us know.
Keep in mind that without these barbers agreeing to let Harry film, there wouldn't be this great content for us to watch! Thumbs up to this awesome guy for letting Harry shoot some content! :)
It seems a lot of you guys are writing negativity on the comment section but if you guys didn't see Harry's last video upload he stated before coming into this barbershop he wanted a "light trim" so he can continue making more haircut videos on his trip. Long story short make sure to view his other videos before writing negativity down (: great video Harry
I dunno why anyone wouldn't like this video. It's not about whether it's a top notch cut or not. It's about the characters we get to meet, the different places and barber shops we get to see and the different styles. I really enjoyed the old school nature of this one and the silence of the man as he went about his business.
He did not say anything bad to the couple that walked in. He is an older guy, he is probably more direct. Most people don't work at his age. He did a nice job.
Its sad to see that Bill passed away. My condolences to his family. We need to enjoy these older barbers while they are still around like my barber Cliff here in Las Vegas who's also been visited by Harry. These gentlemen are true treasures. Visit them while you can. And thank you Harry for continuing to bring us these excellent videos.
Harry is by far the most popular and for me best RUclipsr for haircuts it makes anybody's day when watching a new video thank you Harry so much #weloveyouharry

I love that the barber probably could have retired long ago, but both him and his shop are still there...cutting hair, because it's all he knows and what he wakes up for every morning. Sometimes love and dedication matter most.
I like it. It’s not about you’re perception of a good haircut. It’s about the experience. It would be boring if they were all the same. Good cut or bad. It’s no haircut competition
I am seeing this for the first time today, I am sorry to hear about the passing of Bill. Videos like this will help keep the memory of these skilled practitioners of their craft alive forever.
I like the way he handled the lunch issue. I've been cutting hair 45 yrs. and that is always a challenge, especially if you are working by yourself. I cant tell whether he has anything posted, but I think posting a lunch time above the mirror and sticking with it by telling people, like this barber did, that he will be taking lunch when he's done with his current customer is the best method. If the barber just waits until he had no one waiting, then tries to eat, his customers can never know when he's available or when he's eating. Every one needs that lunch to make it through the afternoon.
I've been in the business for 27 years now and by state law barbers are required six hours of continued education every other year. The state barbers convention covers that or you have to watch a DVD. I usually opt for the dvd. When I sent in my license renewal and education paper I informed the state board of your videos. I enjoy these and learn more from these then their standard education video.
the barber have breathing problems he uses oxygen plenty of times you can see by the marks in his face, its great that Harry made a haircut there people are saying bad haircut and other stupid things its easy to jugde people but its hard to praise someone that at his age with health problems still works to make a living. greetings from Portugal i live in Porto and theres lots of old barbers that they still work because they love their jobs, stop working its not an option to them its like dying.
Another great night sleep after watching you Harry. That is after a great lunchtime nap at work after watching half of the cut. Thank you my good man 💈💇♂️
Looks like most US barbershops you'd finid even in big cities up until the late 1980s or so. The barber would be reading the newspaper when you walked in if it wasn't busy and the small tube tv would have baseball on. If you were a kid they would have a leather covered booster platform that laid over the arms of the chair. If you were really small, the booster would flip over and have an added lift built into the other side. After the haircut he would dust you with talc powder and if you were a kid there was always 1 or 2 gumball machines there on your way out.
That was great! Love the vintage scissor work and he did a good job considering you just wanted a light trim. Nice guy too. So happy to be watching new HCH videos!!!
So you got him to let you film a haircut, eh? I love that I know the back story of this haircut from the travel vlog video. Also love the older barbers, they are always no nonsense and to the point but deliver nice decent cuts! Glad to have another video, Harry!
I like the old school barber shops. Those chair looked amazing and the vacuum is something I wish they'd bring back instead of a hair dryer to push clippings into my ears. Loved it Harry!
crazy to think this was one of his last haircuts have to say he looked like a true barber wish i got a cut off him before he passed rip bill we all miss you
At first I didn't think I would like this vid. The barber did not seem to have any personality but then the scissors worked their magic and I realized he is old-school down to business get it done. Nice cut, I would go there.
