was not the Russians who invent the counter rotative rotors, was use on many french prototypes like the 1935 Breguet Dorand gyroplane laboratoire up to the 1951 Breguet G111 , but Kamov did improve the design to make it safe and reliable...This technology allow a high flight stability at low speed and stationary, a high power efficiency (no losses in a anti torque tail rotor), very safe for ground personal (not tail rotor) , andf high placed rotors (not like a kaman...) very interresting properties for "flyings cranes"...
@@leneanderthalien bro you might be correct in yours facts and observations about the history of design and development of contra Rotating Coaxial rotor design helicopters before Soviet engineers makes it further perfect in their Kamov series helicopters but still they deserve kudos & appreciations for this flying marvel bcoz there have been others leading helicopters design & development enterprises of American & European companies but still they so far avoided to come up with their own version of contra Rotating Coaxial helicopters designs despite the fact that they have the desired capabilities to design and develop one till recently & luckily i have got the opportunity to be on board the Ka32 civilian version & it was wonderful experience for me to feel & see the outside & upside down from inside of the flying Kamov ka32 l
If you look at the rotor heads and the associated leakage, it just looks robust. Its a shame that the American helicopter builders have missed the boat in regards to the coaxial rotor helicopter.
Among other things, I like the alien-like sound following her in any situation...

Sikorsky has died many years ago. There were no more Russian engineers left there to engineer something like this for the US
