I used to launch at Beaufort, North Carolina. The tide there was strong and getting lined up on the dock was difficult. I had a very unusual tool on board that’s called a ‘gaff’. Adds 6 feet to anyone’s arm.
Only thing the "power loaders" accomplish is washing the ramp base out further and further. Lining the boat up with the trailer with enough room to keep it straight and DRIVING it onto the trailer SLOWLY works EVERY TIME.
Slowing down and making more fluid adjustments makes backing a lot easier.
