      hey. cool video. I want to build a budged rig for my music studio.
      couple questions if you don't mind: what psu did you use?
      ok, next: I saw video of a tester comparing different speed RAM with Ryzen and 3200 was the sweetspot. I saw another one that noted the GPU actually benefits from higher speed RAM. you tested both. 3600 is better than the listed 3200? seems the RAM should be same speed as the CPU? 1:1 ?? I'm a little confused about that.

    I went with PBO enabled + curve optimizer and left CPU clock auto on my 5600g, and reached almost 4.55 GHz all core turbo. Also pushed my G.skill 3600 MHz CL18 1.35V RAM to 4000 MHz CL20 1.36V so far, because the IGP likes fast RAM.
    This way the cpu clocks down when I don't need max performance, and currently the hot spot (T_control) is 32°C @ 0.7V. My cooler is ID-COOLING SE-224-XTS, around $25.

    Cheers matey, just ordered mine brand new off Ebay, i plan to replace my 2600 cpu and will pair this 5700g with my RTX 3090. The reason i went with the APU is because i want to eek a little more performane out of my 3090 when mining and plan to game while mining. I will see about a 10% increase in profitibility when using the iGPU while still being able to multitask, browse and watchRUclips,...etc...etc. I paid £238 GBP for the the 5700g and it's brand new. Decent price me thinks.

    I'd definitely be interested to see the difference between the 5700g and the 5800x with the CPU and memory overclock. I'm wondering if something like a 4000 mhz ram oc and 2000 fclock oc with 4.6 all core on the cpu will bring the 5700 up to 5800 levels?

    • @PCTechHustle
      @PCTechHustle  3 года назад +3

      It’s possible but honestly I feel a bit of a wild thing to do. That would be some expensive memory and likely a more costly motherboard to support that. My opinion is, even though the 5700g is an 8core/16 thread CPU it should still be considered a budget option.
      In short I’ve heard they are somewhat comparable to 5600x performance in terms of raw CPU performance.

    • @hoodie_ninja
      @hoodie_ninja 3 года назад +3

      @@PCTechHustle thanks for the response! I've heard though that the ryzen APUs can handle memory oc much better than the chiplet based CPUs. And even if the 5700g is only 5600x level of CPU power, having that kind of performance but with 2 extra cores and 4 extra threads seems like a heck of a deal to me 🙂 (especially considering it's possible to pick one up right now for less than a 5600x!)

      Hard to say entirely how that RAM speed will do. That might be creeping into a niche realm of speed that even some budget boards may not support. Also keep in mind with those speeds the timing will relax which also Ryzen responds to quite drastically as well. I have not tested with that kind of speed RAM just yet but I’d have to say even at 3600mhz at cl16, the performance is jaw dropping for an APU chip. Thanks for watching though!

    1.3 Soc/Gfx voltage is excessive for daily use. I wonder how long that 5700g would survive before it degrades into uselessness. Also, you didn´t touch on the thing that would benefit these APU´s the most: ram overclock. Overclocking cpu does nothing for games as it is already very capable as it is, and Vega OC performance boost is very minor.

      @@PCTechHustle Nice. From my experience these APU´s really scale well with faster RAM. I got a ~45% increase in performance in the shadow of tomb raider demo benchmark by overclocking my ram(with a 5600g and a 3200 c16 2x8gb kit), 60% when combined with the Vega OC. Unfortunatly, buying very good RAM defeats the purpose of buying an APU in the first place - low price. So you´re left with somewhat underwhelming stock or all the work to get your ram optimized, which is a ton of work and time if you do all timings and subtimings, which is necessary for maximum gains. Only clock doesn´t do that much specially if motherboard decides to loosen subtimings like crazy in the process. From my experience, tfaw (and the 2 tfaw related subtimings), tRFC and the 2 SCL´s do more for these APU´s than the primaries, which is weird. Not sure if it´s just a shadow of tomb raider thing, it was the only benchmark I used since it is the game I am going to play soon anyway.

      @@JOHNTECH112 that’s a good starting point. Just keep bringing it down from there until you have an instability, then just crank it back up a few settings and that should be your stable minimum.

      Depends on what you are going for. Most x570 boards do not have on board video output and this is an APU.
