As an update in general, I've been working hard on my businesses. We've had some recent contracts that have really required my attention. I'm still trying to make videos of the other projects going on, but life is definitely full and I'm trying to step back a little to spend more time on my health and family. We'll have videos out soon though so stay tuned for the latest!

I just glimpst your comment wanted to take a second to wish you continued success, in rising to any challenges that you and yours might be up against. I know a little bit about serious medical issues getting in the way of goals and dreams, and about the sometimes frustrating process of finding the best solutions and the right providers. For me, Mike and his family and friends have surely been a big part of staying hopeful and motivated, and it's always nice to hear how he inspires other people as well. All the best!

I don't have a dog in this fight, but why are people criticizing this project as a fancy rich boy kinda place? What did you expect from this man, a few wood sheds on the side of a grass field? Of course it's gonna be over built, and of course that comes at a price. And if you understand anything about real estate, building more luxury high end stuff actually HELPS the lower end of the market as people climb the ladder and upgrade to better properties. The same applies to hangars. You might not be able to afford one at Patey aviation park, but maybe someone else who moves in will free up one in your price range.
I can see where people are coming from, but I don't get it either. Honestly, it's kinda sad. Could you imagine running into Mike and dogging on him for this instead of saying man it would be a dream to be like you and do something like this. How can I help?
It's a mindset thing. All I can think about is how do I get to a place in life where I can afford a plane and a hanger like that or be able to build a project like that. I would work for scraps to be a part of that, learn, and network with them.
It is funny he is always taking about getting people into aviation but his builds are all focused at wealthy enthusiasts
I sure enjoy what you are doing Mike. it's just too bad that general aviation has gotten so far out of reach for the average working person.

Mike great project...I've been following your videos on this development. My partner and I have worked on 2 hangar development projects for the past 3 years in Texas. We killed both last week because we couldn't get enough in rents to cashflow the projects. In Texas cities and counties own most of the airports and haven't spent much on hangars in over 20 years. The most comparable T hangars at the airport we were ready to sign a ground lease on the city rents for $475 a month. Our T hangar building would have had 13 units it it with an approximate cost of $180K/unit....can't make it work competing with the city even at $1,000 a month. Huge demand but no one wants to pay what it costs here. The partnership and support you have from the city is awesome...wish we could have had that.

For me this layout seems natural. All I can read is, that this is innovation. What are people thinking when designing these kind of facilities?
I absolutely love your approach to airport construction. I had many hangers at various airports and all of the things that I didn’t like about them are being addressed by your design. Dedicated parking with easy access was something I always wanted but never had. I built an overhaul facility for helicopters in Mexico and I designed it very much like you have done. I did it for security and safety. Once a guest at my California facility drove under one of my helicopters and hit the tail rotor with their roof rack. That little mistake was close to $30,000 just in damage not including the bookings that were missed by someone’s stupidity. Their insurance paid for it all but I lost some credibility by not being able to meet my schedule. To me that was far more valuable than the repairs.
Again what you have put together is spectacular and I’m sure it will be a success.

I haven't driven by the SF airport since construction started. I'll have to drive by to see how it looks now (assuming this video was shot a few weeks ago). Can't wait to see it all finished!

Affordable hangers are what’s needed. For the guys and young us with c150’s etc.

My local airport has a 5 year waitlist for a basic community hanger. And the airport authority blocks any attempt to develop more hangers by refusing to spend money, but wants someone to come in and do it for them, then they take co trip of the hangers after 20 years.

Don't do what Sky Harbor did here at KAPA. They had 4 massive massive hangers being built. They were ready to install siding, then one week later they were torn down and three weeks after that they started all over again. Original steel was incorrectly spec. Apparently this happened at my airport KAPA, Texas, and Arizona. All at the same time!
i love all the excitement Mike brings to his projects, this is a step up from the interesting house build, the house was a step up from the Cub builds, but i'm sorry, will he ever get back to the Draco rebuild, perhaps when he retires, but at this rate, i never see him retiring, what could possibly come after rebuilding this airport park, love the dream
Are you going to add a parallel runway or expand taxi ways? KSPK is already a hazard with how much traffic is there.

Love to own a hangar. I'm trying to justify building a Rans S-21, and then renting a hangar. Aviation continues to be a very expensive hobby unless you have a true business reason to own a plane and can use the tax deduction. Having one of your hangar spaces I would be out classed with a Rans S-21, and looked as I might be the grounds keeper for the project even with a high net worth.
I've always experienced with owners of high end aircraft to be some of the greatest people to work with and best of friends. Your development will clearly be an oasis filling the need for hangar ownership. It will be a resort destination!

So; I guess this means Draco X is going to be on the back burner for the next two to three, maybe four years until this park is completed. That's too bad, not being part of the elite class and unable to afford to fly, watching a Draco build would have been enjoyable.

All this left my lane when he first announced it ...i made a decent living and retired with a 310 i replaced with a T182 which fit the mission much better.
This is nice and i have always loved Patey content but Utah isnt a playground most of us can afford..i live in home i have never had a mortgage on..own 7 rentals and in the area this is in i couldn't rent a apt ...dream big pay big...ill stick to grass roots avaition
